Lyrics:
I was standing in my kitchen listening to the morning news
Some angry man was talking, God he didn’t have a clue
He was puttin’ down our soldiers fightin’ all those wasted wars
I just had to turn it off I couldn’t take it anymore
I wanted to tell him there’s more than what he sees
And before you tell me that I’m wrong come spend a day with me
And meet me at Arlington I’ll introduce you to my son
Maybe then you’ll know just how I feel
White stones that go on and on, four-hundred-thousand strong
Wounds and broken hearts that never heal
Reliving all the memories, praying he’ll come back to me
Knowing in my heart he never will
And tell me that you feel the same way still
Meet me at Arlington
Meet me at Arlington
You can almost hear the stories of the lives they left behind
Names and numbers etched in stone here before their time
When you see the caisson rolling and you hear the music play
When you see a child kneeling by their fallen father’s grave
Man if that don’t change you then I don’t understand
‘Cause if you can’t see from where you are then look from where I am
And meet me at Arlington I’ll introduce you to my son
And maybe then you’ll know just how I feel
White stones that go on and on, four-hundred-thousand strong
Wounds and broken hearts that never heal
Reliving all the memories, praying he’ll come back to me
But knowing in my heart he never will
And tell me that you feel the same way still
Meet me at Arlington
Meet me at Arlington
Well there’s a stone for every soldier and the reason that you’re free
To say the things you wanna say and believe what you believe
Meet me at Arlington I’ll introduce you to my son
And maybe then you’ll know just how I feel
White stones that go on and on, four-hundred-thousand strong
Wounds and broken hearts that never heal
Reliving all the memories, praying he’ll come back to me
Knowing in my heart he never will
And tell me that you feel the same way still
Meet me at Arlington
Meet me at Arlington
Meet me at Arlington

As a Royal Air Force veteran ,I am in tears listening to this masterpiece of a tribute to our armed services . Thank you Jimmy and the team for bringing this to us all, wherever we are.May the Lord bless you.
June 5th 2024, I was in Washington DC and Arlington. Thanks for the invitation.
I’m a Vietnam vet but my tears keep coming to see all my brothers resting in peace, respect to all America’s vets thank you for our freedom.

Honor Flight took me to Arlington. Visited my brothers and sisters. A Korean war vet, I am very honored to be able to say thank you. God bless.
I honestly don't know how any American could listen to this song and not tear up. Such a powerful song and message.
One of those sons is mine named JIMMY - Thank y ou f or writing this wonderful tribute
I am from the UK but know how this must mean too every Mum and Dad and Wife, God bless you all as God bless all our guys and girls. Thank you all for giving your life for ours God Bless you all
I have a 3-great uncle buried in the Springfield, Missouri National Cemetery. A veteran of the Civil War. He was from a company out of Iowa. My family moved to Missouri 50 years ago. After learning about him through genealogy I now regularly put flowers on his grave.
Maybe this needs to be our new national anthem
Thank you Jimmy this is one of tge greatest songes Ive ever heard , im a Vietnam vet and this means so much to me thank you sir
My husband was a Vietnam Veteran. Thank you for The Wall and this song. May God continue to bless you deeply.
Beautiful song Jimmy Fortune! Thank you for those who sacrificed their lives for our freedom. Prayers for the fallen families!!!
We will all meet our fallen heroes, just not while in the physical. We owe so so much to them all. My brother and I were communicating today regarding our WWII marine machine gunner father and the buddies he lost at Guam and Iwo Jima. Then, this song popped up on the radio. There are no accidents and no coincidences. Adonai
At 89 I still cry for my precious world war 11 husband struggles after that war. Jimmy
Your song is so perfect it
Is a heart breaker. Eleanor
What a beautiful song Jimmy and thank you so much. As an Australian Vietnam Veteran, I say 'Thank You For your Service' to all those resting in Arlington! Also to those Aussie's who also died over there. I have tried to forget but cannot but I have always had our Lord Jesus Christ and my wife of 54 years in my corner.
Thank u
And thank you for your service ♥️
Thank you so much for serving there. My husband was an American army veteran who was attached to the Marines in Vietnam. He said the Aussies were some of the best soldiers he ever met. And you introduced him to Foster's beer! He's gone now as a result of Agent Orange, but if he were here I know he would say thank you along with me.
Hello From Lennox Head Australia. Thank you for your kind words and I do thank your husband for his service. I met many Americans over there and they were such nice people. Generous to a fault and so open in their friendship. I still ,after all this time, keep in touch, with two of them. One in Yukon Oklahoma and the other in Athens, Texas.@@williamsonmunier
@@happyolddude good on ya. mate! I am glad you made some longtime connections.
I have over 11 comrades buried in Arlington. When I first went there, it took my breath away and I started to cry. All those heroes who gave so much for our freedom.
😪❣️
A real, genuine gentleman. The greatest voice I've ever heard, from the man who defines talent and class.
•♡•
I agree.. I watched him when he first started singing with the Statler Brothers.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Jackie Burtnett Cumbie This is a beutiful song!
That was sooo moving, and I could feel that mother’s anguish of losing her son, plus ALL the others who sacrificed for OUR FREEDOMS!!! Please, let’s not EVER lose that precious momentum and always fight for their silent voices who line the rows at Arlington, as well as other places.
Freedom comes at a price of blood. May we never forget that fact! What a song of truth!
I have been to national cemetery near Seattle. I cry everytime I view the vast areas of heroes resting there. We must make America great again so these lives lost still hold meaning & honor.
This past summer at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe NM, I visited the grave a friend who I saw die in a firefight in Vietnam. I met him all over again and wept at his graveside for many minutes. This song expresses much of what I felt that day and in this very moment. Tear flow like a river even now.
Awesome
So. Sorry. But. Ur. Friend..just. Whispered. In. My. Ear. Tell. Him. I.will..see. U. At. 11.final. destination..heaven
Thank you for the Thanksgiving reminder.@@owenewards9903
Haven't heard this one. He's been my favorite tenor since I was 18. I'm 51 now.
Absolutely beautiful Jimmy.Truer words have never been spoken.God bless all the armed services .Thank you for your service and our freedom 🇺🇸🇮🇪☘️
My emotions are high with this song. Father and uncles and those who have served, are serving and will serve. Thank you for your service.
Saw him in concert tonight in New Braunfels, TX. This was the encore song. He's one of the few singers that sounds as good in person, or better, than the recording.
My son isn’t buried in Arlington but we lost him while he was serving in Afghanistan 8 years ago. The pain never stops. Beautiful song that made me cry many tears.
God Bless You!
God Bless you Janet. A Brit here. Heartfelt thanks to your son, and all who give their lives to try and protect a way of life that the folks back home cherish. 🙏
May God bless you and give you peace that comes with selfless sacrifice!
@@eeboy1778 Thank you ❤️
@@scuzzbecuzz Thank you ❤️
What a powerful message !! God bless you Jimmy !!
Without our brave soldiers were would we be. My two brothers one lives right in Columbia, Tennessee and the other one in Shelbyville gave their duty with honor to protect all of us. I thank God for their dedication to our country!!
Such a beautiful, heartbreaking, and powerful song. Jimmy, you did such a wonderful job writing and performing this song.
As a prior soldier who served in two wars, was the wife of a retired soldier who died because of chemical exposure during his service when our sons were young and the mother of a soldier an Airman who are presently deployed overseas. I can't thank you enough for this song. My husband is buried in our local Veterans cemetery even though he has a purple heart and bronze star. He could have been buried in Arlington but wanted to be close to home and us. I hope to never be a Gold Star mom. It's hard enough living with my own scars from war and being a widow. No one better ever tell me our sacrifice wasn't worth it or enough. We are all proud of our service and sacrifice. It's people like the professor in California who told the young man wearing a Marine T-shirt that his ideals for wanting to be one is what's wrong with this country. He could say that but doesn't want to give what it takes to enjoy the freedom he has for what all service members fought so hard for. That professor is disgusting and un-American, but that's on him.
This is a great song. The healing process comes, but not always immediately. Sometimes it takes years. Mine took 20 years but God did hear my cry.
True Patriot! We need them now more than ! God Bless America!!!🇺🇸
Jimmy your music has touched my life and the lives of more then you can count, when we get to heaven you will see how God used your music
What an incredible heart-warming song 🇺🇸👏👏❤ and now a Dove award winning album... Congratulations Jimmy Fortune!
Jimmy also sings More than just a name on a wall, with the Statlers.
Love all of Jimmy Fortunes songs,he has the most beautiful voice
They are our heroes. They gave the ultimate sacrifice and I am forever grateful💔
Thank you. My first cousin is buried at Ft. Riley. Killed in the line of duty.
Maybe one of the Top 3 songs ever written, and the Issicas family the perfect perfect accompaniment.
I can't express how I feel, but this song means a lot to me. My son serves and we are so proud, but so worried too.
No greater love has one than too lay there life down for another God bless them all who did freedom isn't free
Beautiful tribute to our finest heroes.
God has blessed America again. And again.
my name is Rucker Waits I am retired US Army and my son Robby Waits was medically retired from the Army because of injuries. My son passed away on May 15th 20/20. he had PTSD and he took his own life. I want to thank you for this song as it brings awareness do people that do not understand what the military goes through defending their rights in the freedom of this nation. thank you Jimmy for this song it means a lot to all of us who serve in the military God bless you.
Praying for you in in Jesus name my friend. God bless you
Jimmy said it all. Freedom isn't free 😔
Honor our troops! They have given us their all the least we can do is give them proper honor and respect!
Love this song!
A powerful song and truly makes you realize where your freedom comes from. Freedom doesn't come from the politicians, not from the heads of state, but from all who paid the ultimate sacrifice and the ones who came back to tell their stories. God bless each and every one. Thank you for bringing this tribute of truth with your amazing voice. You made me feel, and I know I'm not the only one, like I was right there with you.
Thank you Jimmy for such a powerful heart wrenching truth in song. Well done!!!
Thank you Jimmy for this wonderful song! ❤❤😢😢😢 We need to Thank every Vet we see, they are why we have Freedom!! I am a Vet and proud of serving!!! 🫡🫡🫡🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

profound! tears flowing thinking of my son. my wounded warrior. my hero
Thank you Jimmy, for such a moving tribute to the heroes how have kept us free!
I've been to Arlington and it's awesome. So sad to see so many that have passed on. Very touching. Jimmy you are an awesome singer and God Bless You for this song.👍
I spent a couple of days in DC back in 2003. Flew in on 9/11, walked the wall that day then walked Arlington next day in the rain. Somehow that second walk, cold and wet as it was, struck me as an appropriate act of remembrance.
As a ex digger from Australia this song, filled my eyes as I remember mates who have passed.
Just beautiful
Jimmy is a voice from God. Thank you Jimmy.
This needs released to radio. He needs back on radio with his newer songs.
The liberal owned radio stations don't believe in supporting those who layed their lives to give them the freedoms to smear their country, so it won't get played by hardly any radio stations. PLUS, just learned that China owns quite a few of our radio stations, so don't count on it getting airtime by them. They're too busy pushing their anti-American trash to cause division among the weaker minds who don't see what's happening under their noses, until it's too late and they're in chains.
What a powerful song. I'm sorry to say that I haven't heard it before, till now. I'm a Viet Nam vet and this song brought tears to this old man's eyes. Thank you so much for such a great song. God bless you Jimmy
I was not in country but gave 13 years USN and yes they did well up!!!!
@@miken4jojl84 Me as well.....10 years on subs, with lots of memories of fellow shipmates and "tales of derring-do".

Just beautiful and lovely song
Beautiful. Beautiful lyrics too. Thankyou Jimmy. Precious.
Like I have told many "EACH AND EVERY AMERICAN NEEDS TO VISIT ARLINGTON". . You can see the cost of FREEDOM !
Love this song. Makes me think of family members. I do have a relation that was declared (or presumed) dead while missing somewhere in a rice paddy in Korea where the plane that he was a tail gunner in was shot down by anti-aircraft fire. . He has never been found.
One of the best country vocals ever 🙏🏽 xxx
So very touching!! 💞
I used to drive a semi truck and took a load of limestone pellets from a quarry in KY to Arlington.
This is the most beautiful song you wrote, I love you and think you are so adorable !!!
I so agree! I’ve loved Jimmy since I saw him with the Statlers. I’m 76 now and I still think he’s a cutie withe voice of an angel. I adore him, his songs, and his obvious love for God. He is simply an amazing singer!

This song made me cry. Biden and his cronies are basically spitting on all the graves. God Bless everyone who has lost a child brother, sister, husband, or wife. God Bless America and may she survive the attack she is under right now. Thank you Jimmy Fortune for this wonderful song.
Amen
Awesome!! God Bless You Jimmy!! 🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸
Im a Kiwi and New Zealand has benefitted from, and continues to benefit from the sacrifices Americans have made for democracy, liberty and freedom. Stand tall and be proud, especially those families having paid the ultimate price. There are some who sincerely appreciate it. Im not saying war is a good thing, it isn't, but I honour the courage of those who stand for their country and these values with their lives.
My God, the voice of angels.
Thank you Jimmie God Bless You
Jimmy Fortune has a great voice and writes and sings beautiful songs !
Jimmy Fortune is awesome ❤️❤️
Just listen to the words...precious.
Have to comment..
Well done..... Did tour in Vietnam, came home in one physical peace..
Lost good friend Stephen Traynor to side effects of 122mm rocket... he had it all to come home to...beautiful woman, loving family, good future..
My road was a bit different.. (but my journey)..
I had several confrontations with people who vilified us... we just did our job..
I am now 71 and am still saddened by the "jack daddies" who still sling arrows..
Toughens you but numbs you to the good in life...
I can breath easy and forgive...
Everyone look at what you have and ENJOY THAT WHICH IS GOOD!
Another Jimmy Fortune masterpiece.......As a Viet Nam vet I have thanked him in person for his song More than a name on a wall.....that said never will I support someone who disrespects John McCain and calls us suckers and losers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We lost our Grandson ,April 29,2006,Specialist Robert Jason Settle,in Afghanistan...
Just said a prayer for your family.

Thank you
Absolutley beautiful Jimmie , written and song by you makes it perfect . Keepem coming .
Thanks for writing this song!! 🙏
What a beautiful song JImmy
As a Vietnam vet i hear this song which is a beautiful song yet I think back to my war and remember the attitude of America back then. I also think of the wars started on a lie, Vietnam, Iraq and maybe more, I think of the young lives thrown away because some person wanted to start a war. After Vietnam no one wanted to go to war and the government used a lot of singers to pass out propaganda like Lee Greenwood and started showing soldiers coming home to their kids school, all happy. They learned a lesson from Vietnam not to show the dead coming home and the fact many were killed by friendly fire. Always remember the people that start the wars don't die in them, they send your kids to die. It is so important to remember the fallen but maybe think of them BEFORE starting another war. Anyone that has been in combat knows how brutal it is and no crooner making a hit singing about it can come close to knowing the sick sight of a friend killed in some far away place in a war started on a lie.
This song is so touching and so very true God Bless !!!
Our soldiers and Veterans there are the celebrities because they sacrifice they lives so Americans can be save I have so much respect great song
