GREAT Glutes & Abs Workout / Hip Thrusts | EPIC II - Day 44

  • Glutes at all different angles, abs on the mat... what’s not to love about this fire workout!! Hip thrusts, donkey kicks, sumo squats, abs!!
    The abs portion is continuous work, 1 minute per exercise with 8 exercises on total no rest! However it may take a few seconds just to get into position so don’t rush!
    For this workout you will need a pair of dumbbells/ x1 large dumbbell/kettlebell/barbell and your mat! The dumbbell I am using is 1 x 25kg for your reference.
    Additional options are as follows:
    Glute band: alternatives will be provided if not using a band. For hip thrusts perform as normal!
    Chair: for hip thrusts however bridges can be performed on mat if preferred!
    Ankle weight: can be used for different movements and can be worn entire time as won’t affect hip thrusts etc. I will not be wearing ankle weights but this is a great option for you!
    Abs (no specific rest, simply take afew seconds to get into position)
    Gaze down leg lower
    Knee to elbow tuck to extend
    Heel taps
    Leg flutters
    On elbows tuck to extend
    Toe reaches
    Hip lifts
    Bicycles
    Donkey kick/pulse/donkey kick/pulse
    Switch!
    X over straight leg/pulse/x over/pulse
    Switch!
    Lying abduction/pulse
    On elbows abduction/pulse
    On hands/pulse
    On elbows abduction/pulse
    Staple:
    sumo deadlift squat 1/2 rep/hold/full range
    Side lying leg lift / hold x2
    Switch!
    Staple:
    sumo deadlift squat 1/2 rep/hold/full range
    Hip thrust/hold/hip thrust/hold x2
    Wider stance
    Hip thrust/hold/hip thrust/hold x2
    Single leg hip thrust/hold/full/hold
    Switch!
    Staple:
    sumo deadlift squat 1/2 rep/hold/full range
    Sumo squats full range x2
    1/2 rep sumo squats
    Bodyweight squats (band optional)
    1/2 reps/pulses/full range
    Finisher:
    2 minute hip thrust burnout! (Band optional!)
    This workout is all about how you do it! Each movement should be performed to the very best you can...
    With donkey kicks, aim heel to ceiling! Flex the foot throughout and lower with slow release! Pause for a moment at top to really squeeze glute!
    With x over straight leg lifts, quad is tight and again, control the lower!
    With side lying leg lifts, aim to keep lifting leg as straight as possible, torso centred and aim leg to go to parallel with mat!
    With hip thrusts, release with control, keep looking forward and don’t drop hips too low so you are not arching lower back!
    This workout is deceiving if you do it right!!

    What I like about her besides her top quality workouts is that she is not addicted to IG or YT constantly showing her life and whatever she is doing or thinking or wearing or eating etc. I admire her for being able to keep her private life - we cant thank you enough!! u are epic!

      I totally agree! I enjoy what she shares but love that we aren't bombarded with all the extras like everyone else does ALL the time. I'm happy she has been able to keep her private life as well. Keeps thing about the workouts and us..not necessarily about her. Love it! Love her! She continues to be amazing.

      Definitely. Probably a sign of her maturity and the time of life that she won her fame, but it's all to her credit that she keeps her kids out of the frame

    I’m a 14 year old athlete and I have to wake up at 5 every morning to have time to do caroline’s workouts but it is so worth it!!! I feel so much stronger and my performance in sports has improved so much!

    That has to be 1 of the most well rounded glute workouts I have had. I am so appreciative of the variety you bring to your craft. Not many people would think to work the glute medius as well as you did. The fact that you can make such a tough workout using just our body weight, bands and a weight only for 15 minutes of the workout is really impressive.

    Epic II day 44 done ✅
    Ooooh this one is a right little burner, little fires everywhere 🤣😂🔥🔥
    It actually reminded me very much of a Pilates session with all the pulses and holds but about a million times meaner!!
    8 minutes of non stop abs followed by non stop glute abuse and the finisher is banded hip thrusts, for 2 minutes straight. 2 minutes non stop when your glutes are already burnt to a crisp - brutal!! Thanks Caroline 🥴🤣😆

    This was one of the most challenging workouts for me. I hate glute exercises(hate the burn 😂), but at the end I’m happy I pushed through the pain, not going to lie, I had to stop few times. Thank you for keeping me going and be my best self. Love x

      Guten Morgen Ilse! Ich habe mich auch auf dieses workout gefreut! Ich habe meine Knöchelgewichte und mein stärkstes Band benutzt und mich für meine 15 kg Hantel entschieden (meine Arme sind so fertig). Das hat heute gut gebrannt. Ich war froh, dass mein Mann heute nicht im Homeoffice ist und meine Klagelaute nicht hören konnte!😅😅😅 Hab ganz viel Spaß! Es ist ein super effektives workout!😉😀

    I am so excited for this workout! Always look forward to a glutes and abs session 🎉 ! The variation in EPIC is insane, can't believe i still ache after each workout, 44 days in 😂! Thank you Caroline for being so consistent and making it fun. I used to regularly go to the gym and do insanity but always burnt out and got bored. With this programme, I learn new moves each week and definitely never felt as strong in my life 🤗

    Great session for sure! Despite my core hurting as much as arms etc from yesterday’s push-up day, I opted for the ankle weights like many others. I like reading through the comments from people in earlier time zones. I thought this glutes workout was most challenging yet. Where normally we might expect a rest, we were to hold instead. Mind over matter. I also really liked using other equipment to support the variety of exercises. Definitely a future Go To.

      They really did seem to never end🥵😅. When we went into the 4th set I said outloud whining, "Oh Caroline!!!😨" but kept on going..and that still wasn't it🤣 I was so happy to have a rest with the arms too tho. Mine are sore and tired today!

    Yikes. This one was super hard. I would say that I enjoyed it, but that's only because training with Caroline has taught me to grin through pain (and, sometimes, disbelief)😂
    Super solid session, even with dropping the weights. I can already tell that I'm going to be quite sore tomorrow.

    i love this lady so much!! i've never seen any workouts like hers, so intense, so hard, soooo sweaty!!! i love it so much. you post so much, that i have a new workout to do every day, i never get bored. also, i'm writing this sweating like crazy, laying down on the mat, after like 39 minuts. IM DYING BUT I LOVE IT

    I've taken my rest day yesterday and did this one today instead and all I could say I underestimated this one! Even without ankle weights I feel burnout! During donkey kicks my butt started to hurt like there's no tomorrow! I am aching all over I am struggling since my shoulders hurt. And during that obduction my glutes started cramping and now I can't feel my glutes. But I am happy I do finisher without stopping eventhough it hurts! Thank you so much, Caroline! Full body tomorrow and I don't know what'll happen to me. A week left to finish epic 2! I am excited for heat! ❤

    This is definitely going to be super glutes burner with those hip thrusts, sumo squats and donkey kicks..     This was a GREAT glutes and abs workout!!Loved all the ab moves.The lying leg lifts and hold,donkey kicks and pulses were no joke.The Hipthrusts set 🔥🔥.And 2mins Hipthrusts finisher was a killer.Feeling stronger !!Thanks Caroline😊

    This gave me a serious glute pump... loved it! One thing I miss about the gym is the heavy hip thrusts. But with the help of Caroline I can enjoy the same glute burn at home 😆💖

    Loved we started with abs for a nice little intro. This work out showed some of my terrible glute weaknesses. The burn was real!
