just got the app with no 3d sculpting backgorund whatsoever, only illustration, and WOW this video has given me so much insight!!!!!! thanks so much for taking your time to record this and uploading it on here ❤
this might not be the comment ur looking for but my ass was literally in bed lulled to sleep while watching ur tutorial lmao, relaxing vibes, but ima have to rewatch it at work so i dont fall asleep
Haha, I had the exact same but with a different video just a bit earlier! And I have insomnia so go figure! But super helpful video and I'm so motivated to learn everything I can about this app thanks to your videos. So thanks a lot!
Dave! I was really hard on you when you first began this sharing process, BUT with this video alone you have proven yourself to be an excellent teacher. This creation is logical and memorable for people to remember. Kudos to you😀👍
I don't normally leave comments but I wanted to say this was really helpful! I didn't make a 1:1 of what you did but it was really helpful to learn a program I have no knowledge about
So glad it was helpful and useful! I enjoy making videos I wish I had access to way back in the day when I wanted to learn 3D. Crazy what we can do on tablets! 🤘🏾💫
Helped me tremendously, never sculpted before and never had a pressure pen for zbrush to learn so I'm only starting out, but I got the galaxy s23 ultra came with a pen, and with this tutorial it helped me learn how to kinda start off on my own character, I wasn't following to recreate but to gain an understanding of the tools and you did extremely well at explaining that and the general process for a cute character, thank ya so much! This is my foundation into this part of the scene now and I highly appreciate your work
you are a great teacher. so many other tutorials show important steps only one time and it can be easy to miss critical info. You do a good job of explaining the process thoroughly and introducing new techniques in a way that is easy to digest.
Dude thanks so much for this tutorial! Im mainly focused on 2d illustration and animation but this video helped me sculpt something for the first time. Thank you for being really slow and patient, it’s just what i needed as an introduction to this medium
the best tutorial i’ve ever followed, i’ve had nomad for a while but ive been REALLY intimidated by it, but this really broke it down in a way i could understand, thank you so much, i love my new lil guy :D
Thanks for the outstanding tutorial, Dave! As a 2D artist who has never gelled with 3D, I assumed it just wasn't for me. I've tried Zbrush countless times and have never found it intuitive at all, but Nomad looked like it might be a bit easier to get to grips with and after following your tutorial I can confirm that it definitely is! Cheers for making it all seem so much more approachable, I'm now keen to carry on experimenting more!
How are you getting on? You're comment could have been written by myself! Also a 2D artist I was about to try for the 3rd time to master Zbrush but hit a wall when I couldnt get a learning copy of the software. I stumbled across Nomad today and it looks incredible for only £14.99. Look forward to seeing what its like.
I just started using nomad. I was always fascinated with how people create such great 3D characters, and i am happy i stumbled upon your video!! It’s great and i love your voice, it’s really calming! :’D
You made this so approachable and your voice kept me attentive (thank you for not putting distracting music in the background). I loved your care towards not throwing too much at us at once. Also: the gizmo note about pivot was perfectly timed. Than you for everything. I’m going to upload my little dude and tag you asap! 🖤
Thanks, great timing! I recently got an IPAD Air 5th Gen, mainly for video shorts and Nomad Sculpt. Just waiting for a budget to buy an Apple Pencil 2. I tried Nomad Sculpt before but shifted to Blender to continue my online course. And now I'm back to switch between those two app. Hoping they actually release a Blender App for tablets :D.
Same here XD, Nomad seems can handle what Zbrush can do but I hope they'll have one like blender/3dsmax soon. I am just guessing but I am pretty optimistic about it
@@satriadibasuki yeah hoping for one soon. Hopefully the IPAD with M1 will still be compatible by that time. But if not, Nomad Sculpt will always be there for us
Boy did I need this, I have been using 3D coat for a few years now and wanted a mobile solution. Now after watching this video I am way more informed and confident. Thank you.
Thanks, I really enjoyed this. I bought Nomad a long while ago but didn't really bother with it until recently when I decided I wanted to try to learn digital sculpting. My PC is basically a potato so NS seems like a great way to be able to sculpt without my hardware lagging constantly. The information was clear and precise and I managed to follow everything with ease.
A wonderful tutorial that was easy to follow and straight forward- amazing! I've struggled with getting into 3D art for the longest, but this helped so much. Thank you again, Dave! Looking forward to more videos in the future ☺☺
Just completed this tutorial. I'm on a slightly later version, so there have been minor UI tweaks. I would have liked to have seen the mirror/symmetry line in the centre of my sculpt, but apart from that I'm so pleased with how my first project turned out. Thanks so much for clear and easy to follow instructions :)
Hey just wanted to say thank youuuu this has boosted my confidence in 3d I’ve been sticking to 2d and 2d animation 😭😭😭will be doing more of these from your UA-cam much love
Dave, I've been learning Blender, and while it's a fine package, you've helped me learn this enough to find it far more intuitive for creating the character.
Yep, I feel exactly thee same way! Also, while I love what blender can produce, i just can’t sculpt artistically with it. I’m very grateful to have both! 😊🙌🏾
Awesome tutorial man, was able to follow along just fine. I have played around with sculpting in the past, but this is the first time I was able to make anything. Thank you!
Superb introduction ... first time looking at this software ... my wife will become addicted to Nomad Sculpt ... she's already an avid user of Procreate!
so i got curious on nomad sculpt. and find a beginner tutorial your vid pops up. watch it. damn. now thats tutorial. will be watching your other videos. new sub bro! thanks for the complete tutorial!😅
That calm tone and slow movement is so relaxing. Keep it up man. Btw is there a Way to draw more smoothly? When I try to color or draw something on my sculpture, its always full of pixels which looks terrible of course.
Love this video! Super good detail and very helpful, ty for your videos. Happy I found your channel. Excited to see what I can create and move further with 3d art, even rendering if I can
Yes it was very usefull and I am glad I found you on skill share. this is the first tutorial I watch about this app, that I just pourchase, and I am glad to see how easy it is to learn to use it. It Really helped me to start understanding the Nomad Sculpt app. Keep up the great job, man!
thank you for this I'm starting to learn 3D, from being a 2D digital artist, the tools are kinda a whole lot different and were pretty overwhelming. This helps a lot
I'm not the first, but it must be said; you have made something that seemed so incredibly IMPOSSIBLE in my eyes look simple. To some degree I think this program must be very simple, too, a saving grace, but man! What a cute little guy. All I really want is to be able to mock up character designs (mostly dragons) in a 3d environment, so that I can draw them in different angles with consistency, and was dreading the approach to 3D modelling. I've got a pretty good imagination and can make some pretty 2D drawings, but it's limited at the 3d conceptualisation. Using Nomad will hopefully help immensely. Ultimately, it makes sense; everything 3D is ultimately made up of various shapes. That's all it is. But when I say I hate sculping with irl clay, boy, does THIS video get my hyped to try out sculpting, without the temperamental nature of real clay, which NEVER wanted to work with me (tempted to just buy the fullout thing - it's not expensive, and it's a one-time purchase in a world of damned subscriptions. I appreciate it). I think the biggest learning curve is going to be gizmo, funnily enough, but I'll get there. Definitely going to check out more of your videos in Nomad! And such a wonderful tutorial. No fuss, step by step - not taking things ingrained in memory for granted, letting the viewer see the process - good pace (slow enough to sink in, but not borish). One of the better ones I've seen on art UA-cam, lol. Thank you very much for the tutorial :) EDIT, only two hours later: I AM IN LOVE! In just this short time I can now see every angle of my dragon darling’s head, and have been able to sculpt it into reality. And half of an hour was spent just getting the app bought (so I could save this! No way I was letting it go) bc I had technical difficulties with google. Cannot thank you enough for getting me started. This is literally gamechanging for my art :3
For new people, like default setting new, I would mention to turn off gestures (finger tapping) for gizmo and sculpting, at least if they want it to have it like you in the video
this is a god send I've been looking for something that I could use to create concept and models for 3d printing. This tutorial gives me hope on how I can do this I can already see how this can be applied to mey ideas. Thank you
Excellent intro. Been interested in expanding from 2D into 3D and this makes me feel like I can wrap my head around the tools enough to get started. Thanks!
Thank you so much for the tutorial! One thing i like to do in blender is make my key light a light amber color like sun light and i make the fill light blue. It makes for a really realistic look. I recommend trying it of you haven't ever.
Thank you so so much for making this tutorial! After watching this tutorial I bought the app myself! With your tutorial, it gave me enough guidance to make my own Snorlax (from Pokémon) sculpture by myself. Thank you for opening my eyes to 3D art, I can’t wait to explore it more through your channel! ❤

Why aren’t my shapes smooth? ua-cam.com/video/7TMjmFw0UB8/v-deo.html
Wow you made me go from "this is way too confusing" to "wow this is way simpler than I thought". Great video!
Love to hear that! I’m still learning better ways to make things easier, and I’m happy when people are able to get it! Enjoy 3D! 🙌🏾💯
@@drugfreedave just about to watch for the first time and i'm incredibly excited
The Bob Ross of Nomad Sculpt. Love the videos!
