Kat has to be one of the most technically proficient singers I have ever heard. She, also, has some excellent impersonation videos out where she imitates everyone from Britney to Beyonce. So, all of the Western singers can be considered her influences.
generally, we Filipinos love ballads so even the young generation can appreciate artists and music from the 80s and 90s...even 70s...that's why we are so used to belting and singing powerful songs because those were the artists we emulate and take inspiration from. we also love divas like Mariah, Whitney, Celine Dion, Christina Aguilera, Beyonce...all the powerful belters you can name. in one interview, Katrina said she looks up to Celine, although she sings a lot of songs from all the different divas Filipinos take inspiration from.
Yes, you are absolutely right. She is from the Philippines and is a very talented young lady. I love her vocals. Also, please review her live "Saving All My Love For You." I am very sure you'll enjoy it as well. Here's a quick link: ua-cam.com/video/DnvQ6NckbTs/v-deo.htmlsi=Fy0tJtXlrJnLNtup. I appreciate you featuring Katrina on your channel. 👍🏻🎶🤗💕🇺🇸 I understand she looks up to her country's fave vocalist, Regine Velasques. She also favors Mariah C, Whitney H, Celine D, and some of our well-known artists here in the US. Thanks again!
Her inspiration is the " Asia's Songbird", Regine Velasquez who is also a Filipino singer. She is dubbed as the queen of all Filipino Divas! You better check her out too!
you talked about singers from the 80's...i suggest you check out katrina velardes cover of burn"all stars empersonation"and be amazed how crazy she could get..shes a beast!anyway thank you for reacting ti katrina..shes my favorite..❤from the🇵🇭
The melody when singing cancels out the natural intonation that we have when we speak, the pronunciation of vowels and consonants are elongated when we sing therefore we have a more neutral accent when we sing.
Thanks for reacting to my request 😊 Early hit song for Katrina Velarde. She is from Tondo, Philippines 🇵🇭. She is 1 of the major singers in that nation. You are not required to be Filipino or Asian to perform in The Wishbus. Dan Hill and Dua Lipa sang in the 1st Wishbus. The 2nd Wishbus is in Los Angeles. You are welcome 😊 to rap. EZ Mil does raps in either Wishbus. Suggested videos 📹: 1 EZ Mil and Eminem rap Realest. 2 Gigi de Lana sings Through the Fire 🔥 and Piano in the Dark. 3 Katrina Velarde and Zephanie Dimaranan sing Umbrella 🌂 and Singing in the Rain 🌧 4 Katrina Velarde sings I Want to Know What Love Is.
*Thanks for doing my request. While this is great, Powerhouse Katrina actually did this song in a higher key in her concert. Yes Katrina is from the Philippines. Do react to another Katrina movie cover - Never Enough (OST - The Greatest Showman)* ua-cam.com/video/fSjDPF3I_Wk/v-deo.html
Philippines is almost can sing, because of our videoke less stress what ever happen in our life Sing in videoke is our solution to be happy thats all. That why they have many singer in our country no learning inthe singing school videoke is Enough
The Philippines boasts a large number of singers, likely fueled by the country's love of videoke. For many Filipinos, belting out tunes on a videoke machine is a fantastic way to de-stress, express themselves, and simply have fun. This widespread karaoke culture might even contribute to the nation's abundance of singers, perhaps acting as a substitute for formal vocal training in some cases. Of course, other factors are at play, and it's not a simple cause-and-effect relationship.
In the Philippines, singing karaoke is a popular way to relieve stress and find happiness. Many people enjoy singing, and this has led to a large number of singers in the country, often without formal training. Videoke serves as a simple solution for joy in life.
Krizz glad you like Katrina but you keep picking these disney songs. Listen to some of her R&B songs. She sings a "one take cover session" of gospel tinged song I Believe (a song by Fantasia) or singing Whitney Houston Medley (at the MusicHall Metrowalk - February 21, 2018) or Beyonce's Listen (Oye). Thanks
I do not get this fixation of people with other people's accent. It is just another form of xenophobia but with speech. People in the US certainly don't mind the accent with artists or some celebrity with a strong british, arabic, spanish, indian, swahili, yoruba, amharic or hausa accents. But if the person is asian, somehow it is a thing or it is something mind blowing. It is as if asians are late-evolving monkeys that can only speak or sing in one way.
Wow, you lost the plot. There's nothing wrong with having an accent. He's just saying that their diction changes when they sing. Which is true because you need to be clear and enunciate when you sing.
@@MrBigTrey I totally got what Krizz Kaliko said. 3:04 "it is very interesting to me that you can speak english wherever you're from, with a very thick accent but when they sing, they sing in an american accent. I thought this my whole life..". What is interesting is that people do not notice it with Celine Dion, Adele, Paul McCartney, Djimon Hounsou, Andra Day and many more. However, it becomes noticeable when it is vietnamese, thai or filipino accent. Don't you find that interesting, as well? I think you do, since your second sentence was "There's nothing wrong with having an accent." like Krizz Kaliko ever said there was.
@cristalbol8414 People do notice their accents. I do at least. Hell, my accent and singing voice are different. I go from country as hell to well enunciated lol.
@@MrBigTrey To a point, I agree. Having worked in a contact center doing inbound support calls from all over the US, I have caught myself slightly changing accents from neutral, to west coast, boston, southern, to indian and sometimes british, I guess to somehow make the conversation easier, if that makes sense. 😅
Look up people like Hugh Laurie blowing people's minds when he speaks with his native accent, or Hugh Jackman speaking in his. Also, Do you understand the concept of code switching?
