- HERE YOU WILL SEE A OUTRAGEOUS ACT BY A STUPID MORON MOTORIST, WHO PREVENTED FDNY TOWER LADDER 35 FROM COMPLETING A EMERGENCY CALL, BY LEAVING HIS CAR DOUBLE PARKED AND UNATTENDED ON WEST 73RD STREET ON THE UPPER WEST SIDE AREA OF MANHATTAN IN NEW YORK CITY.
Thanks John for bringing attention onto these drivers. I can only hope his boss has seen it. Keep them coming John!
YOU ARE QUITE WELCOME AND THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;)
If I were the Ladder 35 Captain or Lt, I would have switched over to the NYPD channel and get an NYPD wrecker there Code 3 to cite and then impound the vehicle.
YUP! I AGREE! THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
Probably all busy towing UN limos. :)
agreed
Tow trucks don't have sirens and they would need a special light bar with yellow, red, and blue lights. No one gets out of the way for flashing yellow.
@@drmayeda1930 i know all about that when we plow snow friggan cars parked in the way wich doesnt help wich with our 400hp case tractor with a 24 foot blade just felt like just want to use it and plow the cars out of the way
do what they do in montreal and ram the fuckin thing out of the way, they do it all the time, police cars, vans, ups, other pumpers
I KNOW RIGHT! THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
TTT 1 ram it where? Into other cars?
therant311 theres ways to control it too engineers wrench through the window, hit her in neutral, steer it and push her out
I love my city
Disclaimer: this is the evil side of me talking, would not really do this. Considering the tax payers money being wasted because they are unable to complete their call/purpose, let's put it to good use. Set his car on fire and practice putting it out. Insert evil Vincent Price laugh here...
HAHA! VERY FUNNY STUFF DAVEL! THANKS! ;o)
Davel Foote, I find it strange that this is a big problem in New York. Dallas, TX is just as huge but for some reason, Texans seldom do this. The closest I've seen is a guy on a motorcycle block a fire truck. I think he was a newbie (just got his motorcycle license) and panicked and stalled his bike. He quickly 'horsed' it out of the way when the fire truck driver got angry and let out a loong blow on the horn!
Spot on 😀😀😀😀
Davel Foote Lmfaoo
that may work
Unbelievable I sure hope he got fined I really hope he dident put anyone's lives in danger!!
HE DIDN'T SADLY! THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
Absolutely disgusting. Too bad you could not move his vehicle with the front of the engine. This is un acceptable. Kudos to our firefighters.
Should use that bumper to move it themselves
I AGREE JOHN! THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
Void his tags & make him sell the van, after paying a massive fine! VERY MASSIVE FINE!
John, if you push it out of the way then it hits legally parked cars causing damage they didn't deserve even if van guy has to pay. Tow, void tags & charge large fine along with equally large towing & storage fee! Max insurance points, too! He's not just stupid, also arrogant. SMH
@@Beezlie727 finally, someone you can cognitively do more than 1+1 in the comments 😆
You got that Right!
The
Driver of the vehicle should be charged for the cost of the Fire Truck and all Fire Personnel plus any Liability for the victims of the Fire!!!
YES AND THANKS SO MUCH! ;o)
We have the same problem especially in South Philly, I love it when they double park next to an empty space. 😲 Push the car out of the way.
IT CAN GET CRAZY ALL OVER I GUESS! THANKS SO MUCH! ;o)
NYPD Really should do an enforcement crack down. This is ridiculous in New York City. Are used to drive an ambulance in the Bronx and I'm here to tell you the amount of times that people with double park block us, not get out of the way was just insane. Living in Los Angeles now it is almost like Moses parting the Red Sea when code 3 is established, I laugh when LA firefighters complain about traffic not getting out of their way and point them to New York City. They don't know how good they have it.
I HEAR YA AND AGREE JIM. GREAT STORY TOO INDEED! THEY THEM OVER THERE IN LA WHAT REAL TRAFFIC NIGHTMARES ARE FOR FIRST RESPONDERS HERE....THANKS SO MUCH.....
He delayed valuable life saving help. He should get more than a ticket.
YEAH! THEY HAD TO CANCEL THE CALL AND GET ANOTHER UNIT TO RESPOND! OUTRAGEOUS! THANKS SO MUCH ALEX! ;o)
omfg, This is why I couldnt handle being in the fdny. i would have made the van a minicooper lol
HEHEHE! ME TOO! THANKS SO MUCH! ;o)
Our emergency pers are authorized to break into and remove any such vehicles on the video without regard to damage caused .Works amazingly well after 2 to 3 months and a few reports on tv and the papers the message got across and such parking is now exceedingly rare.
YEAH, WE HEAR THAT WOULD NOT WORK WELL! THEY WOULD HAVE TO BREAK INTO HUNDREDS OF CARS A DAY! THX.
Still wouldn't be able to drive it without a key.
@@THEMAJESTIRIUM1 If it really happens that often, maybe the local fire department should partner up with the local tow companies. They'd make a killing towing vehicles blocking the road.
My dad was a cop at SJC Int'l for years and had a situation similar to this. Fire apparatus needed to pass a car & driver refused to move. His reason? He had a lot of luggage to unload (traveling w/ family) and would move as soon as he was done. Since cops were right there, he was told in no uncertain terms to move the effing car. Some people...it does make you wish they were allowed to just push the offending vehicle out of the way, if only it wouldn't cause damage to the surrounding area (or people).
I HEAR YA! SOME PEOPLE ARE JUST PLAIN SELFISH AND IRRESPONSIBLE.....
Should just write the ticket in those cases.
i believe most jurisdictions have the right to remove any obstructing vehicle blocking an emergency response. They could not have pushed this vehicle out of the way as it would have damaged other innocent vehicles. The driver should have his car seized and his license taken away for a year (at least).
I AGREE MARK AND THANKS SO MUCH! ;o)
Happens EVERY DAMN DAY.
Ever been forced to make a right on red in NYC getting a ticket and then have to go fight the ticket because there was a firetruck or emergency vehicle behind you?
Try telling Shanniqua at TVB... she wont hear you.
HAHA! THX.
Surprising a cop would ticket you under the circumstances...
xzqzq red light cameras, not an actual cop
I wonder if having a dash cam in this case would help
Gewglesux
HUH?😮😮😮😮😮😕😕😕😕😕
WHAT THE F*** HELL😮😮😮😮😕😕
Wow. Thats all I have to say about that. I hope they had to pay a big fine. Great video though!
I AGREE INDEED! THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
No problem
I hope they still have him a ticket. And suspend his license. Apparently him not having to walk 50 feet is more important than emergency vehicle.
WELL, THEY DIDN'T BUT THEY SHOULD HAVE! THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
You're welcome.
They should have wrote him the ticket. Impounded the vehicle the city of New York should have charge double the rate to get the vehicle out and hit him with an additional fine for fun.
I TOTALLY AGREE BERNARD! THANKS SO MUCH! ;o)
My local department would have just pushed the car with them.
COOL AND THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
But that may cause the car scratches to other vehicles while pushing in a narrow street, that why they tried not do that.
I did my paramedic internship in Ed-Stuy and all the rescues had brush bumpers…..that were dented. So boss
INTERESTING.....THANKS SO MUCH.....
LAWS should dictate, emergency vehicles in code 3 blocked by vehicle capable of moving, the ERV should be allowed and authorized by law to move it themselves, push through it, or push it out of way, and have no recourse of action against the ERV, driver, or department operating ERV. Should the identity of owner/operators be revealed, should also be held liable for the repairs of said ERV.
I AGREE! THANKS SO MUCH.....
they are allowed but i assume only in life or death situations, this call for sure wasn't that bad, otherwise they would've absolutely fucking destroyed it to get there
He should have been arrested!
I AGREE! THX.
@@THEMAJESTIRIUM1 Thank you!
Wish i was there with my 30000 pound john deere
HEHEHE! THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND JACK! ;o)
When the police and the fire department are on emergency calls, people are intentionally blocking their way and not letting do their job because apparently people these days have no respect.
I AGREE DONNY! THANKS SO MUCH!
if I was the LT or the CAPT I would’ve chewed him out for parking and leaving his pos van unattended and violating the NY VTL 1144-A and prevent him from leaving until the cops show up
I HEAR YA AND TOTALLY UNDERSTAND YOUR FRUSTRATION.....THANKS SO MUCH.....
The stupidity of the general public never ceases to amaze.
YUP.
watching tower ladder just sit there not being able to go anywhere just made me cringe
IT IS CRAZYYYYYYYYYYYYY! I GOT VERY ANGRY!!!!!!!!!! THANKS SO MUCH! ;o)
Your welcome
I was like...now lets hope its not one of your family that is in trouble
YES, I AGREE! THANKS SO MUCH! ;o)
It should have been a $5,000 ticket!
I TOTALLY AGREE.....THANKS SO MUCH JIM.....
Why would ANYBODY with one brain cell block an emergency truck, lives could be depending on its arrival.
I AGREE! THANKS SO MUCH! ;o)
The police are usually accompanying fire trucks so maybe they can ticket these jerks, have their vehicle towed, receive a huge fine & spend the night in jail!
I AGREE! THANKS SO MUCH! ;o)
TICKET ? Try that crap in Texas preventing an emergency vehicle from passing and your ass will go to jail while your car goes to the pound.
I AGREE! ;o)
LOL! Fact!
Seriously!!!!! Lives are at stake here! He should have NEVER parked there! Great video btw. 😉
It would be justice if that idiot's house was on fire and someone prevented FDNY from getting to him.
I AGREE! THANKS SO MUCH! ;o)
YES, THEY NEVER THINK IT COULD BE THERE HOUSE! THANKS SO MUCH! ;o)
Unbelievable. A night in jail might be a good reminder that double parking don’t play on the streets of NYC.
I AGREE! THANKS SO MUCH! ;o)
Can't fix stupid. This guys car should be shredded. Heavy fine. And even more stupidity restitution to be paid to FDNY.
YES AND THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
Right hand indicator then pulls left to park! Says it all really...
I KNOW! THANKS!
He certainly made enough noise to attract the driver. Since it is a company car, fine the company as well.
YES AND THANKS! ;o)
So, did this numbskull who had the nerve to block a ladder truck ever get penalized for his actions?
NO TICKET OR ANYTHING! ;o( THANKS! ;o)
@@THEMAJESTIRIUM1 Karma needs to happen there...😈
Someone who should not be allowed to drive or have a driver's license?
I AGREE! THANKS SO MUCH! ;o)
He should have been arrested for blocking an emergency vehicles to an emergency 😡
YUP.....
If he did that, there. He has undoubtedly, done it loads, before. He couldn't care less. His body language says it all.
oh please....just arrest these people
YUP!
Kinda suprising they didn't shove the van out of the way.
OK.
They should just start sewing theese types of people beyond this point. Any fire truck can respond anywhere!
YES INDEED JACKSON.....THANKS SO MUCH.....
That especially is bad because, ever since their central call system got instituted, FDNY has run its appliances on a tightly coordinated system. Each location garners response from a set of Companies, with other houses doing transfer cover while they're out. Second alarm Company assignments shift. If any unit falls out of the mix, everything shuffles, and the Second Response now takes over as First, with the loss of many minutes. Since Truck Companies typically handle access, ventilation, and rescue support, that little van driver endangered one or two engine crews and a building full of people.
A mind is a terrible thing to waste.
YES, I AGREE AND THANKS! ;o)
THEMAJESTIRIUM1 Sir, I thank you for bringing this to us, and for replying to me individually. God bless New York's Bravest (and Most Persevering)!
THEY SHOULD BE ALLOWED TOO PUSH THE VEHICLE OUT OF THE WAY THEN GIVE IT A TICKET WHAT'S FUNNY IS THAT THEY COULD HAVE BEEN GOING TO HIS RESIDENCE.
YES THEY SHOULD.....
Too many people, too many cars!
OK. BYE/
Too bad they didn't finish writing the ticket.
YEAH, I AGREE.....THANKS SO MUCH.....
There is no reason they should let that guy off. The office is witnessing what he did and should have to pay. Because of him someone could been hurt or killed waiting for the FD to response.
I AGREE! THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
I hope that whatever call FDNY was responding to, no one died.
I AGREE! THX......
No respect for our heroes
I KNOW RIGHT! THANKS SO MUCH! ;o)
If I was the firetruck Sr. Officer I'd tell his crew to check their headgear then have the driver lean on the horn until either the driver, Police and/or tow truck shows up.
The driver should be fined $1000.0, BANG! (plus tow truck call cost) and if he/she doesn't show up (during horn blast) the tow truck will haul it away to impound. ;-)
YES AND THX.
They should haved authoritys to pushed those cars out ofed the way with theirs truck and thened any damaging should be charged to the car owner !!!
YES AND THANKS SO MUCH! ;o)
De nada! My fosters father was a sheriff fore very a long time and too a fires fighter. He liked to followed fire trucks and pinched the ones whiched do not geted out ofed the ways.
Simple solution, make the fire engines a little less wide.
OK.
Carry 4 wheel jacks on the truck so you can move cars blocking where you need to get to. Even when a car is parked legally it could be blocking the spot a ladder truck needs to get to so having a set of 4 would let them move any car blocking the space without any damage to the car or ladder truck you would get from using the truck to push cars around.
COOL AND ONCE THANKS SO MUCH! ;o)
Aus Explorer, my thoughts too. Much faster than trying to wrestle with 4 heavy jacks. The only reason tow truck drivers can do that reasonably quickly is because they tow violators ALL the time. On second thought, maybe a 911 call for a fire should also ping the towing company closest to the burning building. :D
@@largol33t1
Wouldn't work. The problem might not be at the destination. Better have a tow company station trucks near the fire station so they can draft behind the fire apparatus.
Hell no just ram it out of way amd keep going
In my country emergency vehicles have the authority to do what ever it takes to get past a car which might be in it's way. This includes ramming/pushing a vehicle aside to make way
OK. THX.
His car should of been towed, he should of been fined, have his driver's license taken away and thrown into jail!!!!!
I AGREE! THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
Idiots like him is one thing but the fact that idiots like him who also have the right to vote really devastates and scares me. What a really sad society we live in.
YES I AGREE! THX.
He should have moved out then parked on front of a fire hydrant.
THAT WOULD NOT BE GOOD! THX.
I say we should create a law against disrupting a emergency call / vehicle .
Or at least. 5 thousand dollar fine minimum . Block / going around / tailgating and EMS vehicle .
Blocking hydrants : 10,000 fines and partial liable for the structure damages .
I AGREE! THANKS SO MUCH! ;o)
I don't know where you're from but I know in Maine when I was an EMT, there was.
Georgia example:
law.justia.com/codes/georgia/2010/title-16/chapter-10/article-2/16-10-24-2/
If that was in England the fire brigade would of pushed the car out if the way with the truck
OK.
@@THEMAJESTIRIUM1 sort of a pointless reply don't you think?
On my department you get dragged or rammed out of the way. No fucks given.
I HEAR YA! THX. ;o)
This is typical in Europe! And they go round vans like this...
WOW! THX.
Have it towed!!!!!!
YES! THANKS SO MUCH! ;o)
If I were the company officer... So many ideas come to mind... Haha. Instead of pushing the jack ass and messing with other peoples cars, just tie him off to the front hooks on the truck and wait for a tow truck. I didn't know New York had such large trucks. We've got a Simon Duplex, nearly identical to that one. HUGE truck for tiny city streets.
GOOD IDEA AND YES THE RIGS HERE ARE HUGE! THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
The owner should be put in jail as he endangered life
YES INDEED! THANKS SO MUCH! ;o)
If I were president I would put an ordinance in place that allows emergency vehicles to move vehicles out of the way themselves by bumping into them to just move them but not cause a serious crash
ME TOO! THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
they should use the rig to push the car out of the way
THEY SHOW! HAHA! THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
They didn't give him a ticket they are super nice surprised cause NYC authorities arent that lenient
YUP AND THANKS SO MUCH! ;o)
I hope that wasn't first response
I AM NOT SURE BUT IT WAS VERY BAD TO SEE! THANKS SO MUCH! ;o)
Hold him criminally liable for any fatalities he might have caused.....
I AGREE! THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
That's life in the city. Fdny has a system in place to overlap coverage in neighborhoods. Hopefully no one was in danger. There simply is just not enough parking for everyone.
YES AND THANKS!
Simple solution "Sell all your cars and go get bikes" more healthier all round !!
not enough parking... sure but that's no excuse for this dingbat to just park wherever he wants. is this guy your brother?
to be certain this happens CONSTANTLY just a bit more rare that a fire truck ends up stuck. double parking on a oneway should cost $1000. more if this shit happens.
YES, IT HAPPENS A LOT! THANKS! ;o)
Just think your loved one is dying and help can not arrive because this guy is blocking traffic. He should have lost his van at the least.
YES, IT WAS TERRIBLE! THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
They should of backed up and rammed them at at least 40 mph
HAHA! THAT WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN GOOD THO..... THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
Those trucks are HEAVY. I think even 30 mph would do some serious damage!
Power Ladder 35 out of service!
WELL, OFF THE CALL! NOT OUT OF SERVICE! THANKS!
Fined and write I won't every be this stupid again, ten thousand times on a chalkboard!
HEHEHE! I AGREE PAT! THANKS VERY MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
Congrats on 100k views JJ!!!
THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
Can't they just hit them? Here in Colorado they give them a nudge ....... About 30 feet.
NOT A GOOD IDEA FOR MANY, MANY REASONS. THX.
These men should be treated like Royalty... There are some ignorant people living in this world
I AGREE.....
But I'M more important than everyone else!
YUP.
Wow. I only could imagine the horns and sirens if this happened on 48 St & 8 av and Ladder 4 was there
I AGREE! HAHA! THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
That's just unacceptable!! But to be fair, the fire truck had MORE than enough clearance to get around.
OK.
Are you high?
What is wrong with people?
YUP! ;o(
I would have plowed through that stupid van
OK.....
I guess consideration is NOT a top priority these days and ignorance is bliss!!
YES, I AGREE! THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
Wow that is crazy and ignorant!
IT SURE WAS! THANKS SO MUCH ANDY! ;o)
That guy was in a work van so more than likely he was making a delivery. I'm not taking his side but parking is impossible in NYC so sometimes you have no choice but to double park. I do it all the time and have anxiety attacks because of it because I fear this exact same situation happening to me
OK.
Solution: Go around the block a few times.
smash the window, put it in neutral, and have the truck push it out of the way.
OK.
Two words-cow catcher!
WHAT?
@@THEMAJESTIRIUM1 it's slang term for a snow plow blade device often mounted on the front of a train. some newer designs of push bumpers or brush guards mounted on vehicles serve the same purpose... too deflect an object to either side to clear your path.
break the windows start it up drive it off and leave it somewhere away from the road so that he would have to search for it,report it missing and explain why it was double parked
HAHA! YUP! THANKS SO MUCH! ;o)
Bust the window. Pop the clutch and push... Leave a get well soon note. Get back into apparatus. Continue.
HAHA!
Try that in Arizona and you may be hoping its the Police that show up first to save your ass
YUP!
The patient in need of the firefighters’ care probably died because of that driver.
I HOPE NOT..........
I would totally vote yes for a law if someone is/isn't in a vehicle and doesn't move out of the way push my damn car or whimever is in the way with your rig.
OK! THX.
If a car is parked at a fire hydrant, they just break the window and run the hose through. Why can't they just plow the car out of the way in this case?
YES AND THANKS SO MUCH MY FRIEND! ;o)
Thats when you need one of those drift buster snow plows to clear the street. Luckily in where i live in Va. we don't always have that problem
COOL AND THANKS!
They should have just pushed the van out of there path
THANKS SO MUCH! ;o)
THEMAJESTIRIUM1 no problem
Selfish man.
YUP!
