Just to add some information.... When doing mine, there wasn't the protective foam strip. I exchanged emails with thectsc.com and apparently some earlier 6hp transmissions didn't have the strip. It was added later to reduce the amount of 'sediment' that would get into the solenoids and into the valve body. The sediment is, of course, that greyish paste that shows up in the bottom of older transmissions' pans due to wear in the clutches, gears and bearings of the transmission.
Nice video well done I have a 2005 B M W 750 li I used shell 1375.4 less expensive then ZF life guard (6) works fine. On my car I have ABS module issues and logic7 sound issues. No sound Sometimes in any speakers performed all the Diagnostics still nothing but the car is running perfectly without sound.
Please, put your cameraman out of his misery. Take him out to the beach, let him run around and enjoy himself on his final day, then sent him off to 'the farm'. That man should never be allowed to operate a camera again. Nevertheless, thank you for the video.
Hi . My vehicle shows the selenoid fault 3-4. The overdrive fails at speeds of 60/80 km / h. Sometimes it does not apply the recoil until a good time of heating the vehicle. Which selonoid should I change? What other problems do you think my transmission has?
Sir: What do these colors mean? Are these solenoids different? In case of e shift, which solenoid responsible for gear position? It sticks into park after 1 hour of stopping & works normal after exactly 5 hours .
I never replaced anything other than the sleeve seal and the round seal also, I have the transmission light come on twice but did not loose power or anything, once the car it's turn off it goes away I also replaced the trans. Oil pan alone with the new fluid
Im having a problem with my car. It accelerates but does not shift out of third. A red gear on dash, abs light on, steering position light on, stability control on and brake light. What could it possibly be?
Hello i changed all the solenoids on my 04 645 but now it only drives in Reverse when i put it in drive whats the issue? And im still getting the transmission fault light
hi I have a 2004 bmw 525i. 230,000 miles. the transmission seems to be not working. I can drive forward but looses power. it. I put it on reverse but it just makes like it wants too. but nothing. I change the oil very dirty but nothing. can you help me.
Hello, my 2008 BMW 335i e90 transmission has recently gone bad on me, or so I think. The car turns on perfectly as it usually would, but once I put the car on D or R it will not move as if it was still in park . I scanned it for codes and what I got was codes : 4F81,4F91, 5088. Which are ration monitoring clutch A , Clutch A-D and gearbox selector switch sensor. I have no idea what to do and I am hoping for some assistance or maybe even guidance on what actions. Thank you.
Hi my car bmw 335i when I change from 4th to 5th gear sticks a blow and does not want to get in, when I'm already in 5th and strong accelerator gets jerks, can that be why?
I notice that you don't do an adjustment to the manual 'slide ' when putting the final triangular piece of plastic back on (with the dowels) - ie the "computer". Is this because this valvebody comes from a transmission in an e-shift car? ie Park is a button?
Did the plastic cover of the valve body have a slide on the inside on the longer edge? If so, what did you do to make sure that it was in place properly. Thanks for the responses.
g mak I was only filming the video and it was done by an expert mechanic. maybe I did not notice that part, but as you can see in the video it was easy to install the plastic piece.
When pulling off in first gear i am experieancing a long shift into second almost like a trans slip changed the spark plugs but no difference maybe even got worse a little every week? could this be the problem? I drive a 2006 bmw e90 325i
I will be doing this probably next week when all the parts arrive. My symptoms - after long drives(this desnt hapen after a long rest), trans 1st gear slipping which means I cant overtake not even a prius - hard 2-1 downshifts. The problem got worse yesterday (2-23-2017)so its now parked at a friends garage for me to work on it. Im changing all 7 solenoids along with the gaskets including the round sleeve to the electric connector.
I changed all solenoids and sleeves with new pan and fluid. Its shifting differently. Slipping is gone for sure, but the trans needs to be relearned. I got inpa with the cable but that crap aint acting right. I get an error when i try and reset the adaptations.
I actually found your article with the part number and everything else.I know this video is from a while back but it's really helping me alot thank you so much.
hi. Good video. I just feel more confident in doing this because of guys like you. I'm almost done with mine. but I am not sure about the torque adjustment to tighten the mechatronic bolts . I know you point it out to 8nm. is that equal to 70.8 inch pound?
pezzoman11 glad to hear that this video was useful for you, use this link to convert the numbers: extraconversion.com/energy/newton-meters/newton-meters-to-foot-pounds.html
Hi my car works fine until it gets very worm. I changed the sleeves and seals but still same. A tech told me I need a new mechatronic. Do you think that putting a new body solenoid would help?
Due to high millage on the car 112,000 Mile = 180.000 Kilometer these solenoids and rubber seals needs to be replaced to prevent potential transmission failure. for full details check my article here : sayyarti.wordpress.com/2015/01/20/everything-about-your-zf-automatic-transmission-issues/
I see that they offer a sonnaz zip kit which requires that you open up the valve body, install the kit, and replace the separator plate. At what point should this be done? I was only planning on doing everything in this video, but now question whether i should install this kit as well.
hey, i will replace my solenoids too in my 335i. The problem is i cant order the Protection Foam Strip: ZF: 1068 327 24. ZF said me they do not sell this. Does it matter or can i just take my old one? ZF also said me i cant just plug in the new Solenoids they need adjustment but in your vid you are just using a spirit Level so ZF lied to me? ;) I hope u can help me to get some answers. And sorry for my english :D Best Regards Rob
Hey, A new foam strip is very important, you can get it from here: google search for "the ctsc" they sell it for 5$ No complicated adjustment required, just what you see in the video Good luck
Do you mean the valvebody separator plate where you have to take the valvebody apart? Or do you bean that square two-part rubber gasket that sits between the valve body and the transmission. What is the downside to not using the assembly lube for solenoids but using ATF instead?

Bronwyn Rowe it was an iPhone not a camera, and I never intended to post the clips, but I need a vacation anyway 😅
Right I couldn't understand anything back😨

Have you solved the problem? if so please let me know what was the root cause. Thanks

I know it's been a while for you but did you ever figure out the issue?
Nice Job Man! But 3:15 is not cool, when you brake something with schrewdriver your done !

Levi Walker best of luck , checkout my blog in the video description for more useful info.
King0Tron While changing my solenoids i noticed that the foam piece was missing...is that normal 😳?
maybe someone changed it before ! , are you the first owner ?
King0Tron nope im like the 3rd. It probably disintegrated
I changed all solenoids and sleeves with new pan and fluid. Its shifting differently. Slipping is gone for sure, but the trans needs to be relearned. I got inpa with the cable but that crap aint acting right. I get an error when i try and reset the adaptations.
My 335i transmission light came on but did not loose power I changed the oil pan and fluid but the light came on again can it be solenoid or what else

@@King0Tron how long the all process takes ?
yeah + he forgot to change the separator plate and damper/accumulators...
2 mistakes didn't change the valve body gasket and didn't use transmission assebmly lube for soleniods

that plastic wrapper sound annoys the shit out of me
