been coming back to this poem for 4 years now.. each time I listen a new part hits different. “Remind yourself this isn’t special, it’s only dinner. Everyone has to eat”... hopefully I can easily say no the next time he asks me over.
I thought about this poem after a heart breaking, gut wrenching text exchange with my “bestfriend” of 3 years. For so long I’ve been asking him to commit to me, take me seriously and today he basically but he would always say that he wasn’t ready because so many things were happening in his life. Then today he tells me he’s in a serious thing with someone and this time it’s “different.” HA! The pain of those words. Made me feel small, not worthy. I know all those things are untrue but it sure felt like it in the moment. This poem is everything I am feeling, glad to know that I’m not the only one to feel this pain.
"I dream of you more often than I don't." This line and this poem has stuck with me for so many years and I have went back to this every time I find myself in this situation.
I too was in love with my best friend for three years, it hurt so bad because I told him how I felt, twice and was rejected both times. We somehow still remained friends, and somehow I got lucky. He asked me out a year later, and we have been dating for over a year now. He has promised to make up for how he hurt me, for the rest of his life. I was so lucky.

I saw this for the first time about four months ago. My boyfriend and I had just broken up and he had started dating another girl. This poem spoke to me then and still does now...but we've worked a lot of our problems out, and now we're happier than we've ever been before. So to all the people who are going through this, just hang in there. I know it feels like hell. I know you'd rather be anywhere than here and I know sometimes you just feel empty. But it will come to pass in some way. Just keep hanging in there.

I think y'all would like this, I wrote it & it relates so much *The Snow Globe I Broke*💦 The most beautiful sight, it seems, is water running over the bare skin of someone you love like tomorrow's pieces are missing because when nature meets your body like that, the world around you starts to tingle and the scene fits together like the inside of a snow globe dancing through the water, perfect enough that you cannot touch it until you break through the glass, and suddenly, everything is ruined. The untouchable hope you thrived on has been cast out, thrown through the holes into the glass, but all the same, you've never heard something so beautiful. Your passion still beats like a 40's record, the squirrels still cry out, patting their innocent little paws on your feet. Magic lasts past the ellipse, the hidden dream draws you out of your sphere compelling you to be in this moment to such an extent that the globe rebuilds itself and for a lone second, you see it again. You can see the water droplets trickle down his left arm, you still know him like you know your middle name. Now, it isn't the same. You can see the cracks in the glass and you understand that you created them, your lightning has been striking in the same place and his rugged scars feel like poison to your fingertips; you never meant to hurt him, to hurt us. You only know that now you can't run your fingers through the water the same way. He's a little bit further under now, and every time you reach out you push him down, closer to the rocks.

So you have to do it covertly? Too bad they can not let you be who you are and do what you do. I have a daughter and knew when she was growing up I had to let her go even when I wanted to know what she was doing and where she was going. Keep speaking, your voice is needed.

I've been in love with her for 15 years and the pain keeps getting worse and worse. But thankfully I'm about to reach my threshold very soon and hopefully then will I have the courage to end it myself

I’ve been in love with one person for four years by now. I’ve watched as he’s fallen in love with another and all I can do is pray that he’s happy.
I saw this for the first time about four months ago. My boyfriend and I had just broken up and he had started dating another girl. This poem spoke to me then and still does now...but we've worked a lot of our problems out, and now we're happier than we've ever been before. So to all the people who are going through this, just hang in there. I know it feels like hell. I know you'd rather be anywhere than here and I know sometimes you just feel empty.
