I just realized how high in the world that zombie spawner generated at. That's crazy! You don't typically find them that high up! Definitely a rare find!

Thanks for the vid and description Prowl! I used this to create on nearish my base in my realm. Another member had made a normal XP farm for all mobs. Few extras you can add: Zombie villager curing: Install Pistons with a button you can hit to push zombie villagers out of the kill chamber to send them to curing Station. You need 1 set of two pistons to retract one wall (this is where they drop into another water stream) then a second set that activates on a slight delay to push them out of the kill chamber. Use water streams to send them to a holding area, water push them into a corner, then pick them out one at a time in minecarts from dispenser to send them to multi-cure. Obsidian in your kill chamber so you can spam your mending pickaxe without accidentally breaking blocks. You can also centralise your second water stream in the spawn chamber by digging your channel right in the middle of your 9x9 and putting open fence gates above, then you can put water streams either side and theres no janky area where mobs can bunch up 😊
Try a slab to see if that works on that drop distance for the zombies. I’m very curious to see if that would bring them down to the one hit mark. Let me know if you try it and if it works. Great content as always Prowl. Keep up the great work.
If the Wiki is correct then the design still needs some tweaks. Like it will only spawn up to 4 mobs at once before waiting 10-39~ seconds before spawning up to another 4, so dropping them out doesn't really matter as long as they don't congregate. Also it says that Java checks in a 9×9×9 area centered in the spawner and that Bedrock checks in a 16×10×16 area centered on the lower northwest corner of the spawner, so you got the horizontal right but not the vertical, so you'll need to go a block or so deeper to achieve the goal you said.
Something must have changed since I last did one, although, if you go the 7 blocks down, you still have them outside of the detection range, especially if you consider that you drop them another 2 blocks down after several seconds.
@@Prowl8413 It's always possible that the Wiki is wrong too, since it's written by people in the community, just thought it was worth pointing out and maybe doing some testing. Just had chance to finish watching this. Appreciate your descriptive style as it always covers all the important considerations of playing and building in MC. I started a new world with the release of 1.21 at the same time you started this guide and it's such a fun series to follow along with. Will you turn this spawner into a trading hall? I would also love if you added building tips as you go, even stuff like your tent/base camp and cave entrance. At the moment for me building a house is a bit hard but I can manage a water well or cave entrance.
I just became the coolest Grandma ever! I followed the video and made a zombie xp farm and my grandson is having a blast with it! Thanks for your ez to follow video!! 😊
I'm considering adapting this for Strays, which are skeletons that have been in powder snow for 22+ seconds. They would have to be converted before they hit the ground, or the drop becomes pointless. I don't think they are in any zone long enough, so my current thought is to push the stray up 4 extra blocks then drop through 1 powdered snow, 1 cobweb, another powdered snow, and another cobweb.
In Trial Chamber, you can find a baby zombie spawner. I ran into one a few days ago, I've never seen one till the trial chamber. I am sure they are special for the T/C. However, needed to share that with someone.
I always forget there is soul sand in the ancient city under the portal or in some of the other structures as well if you dont want to go to the nether or you cant find a soul sand valley. Probably not the easiest place for a beginner world but may be easier for some
Ancient city can be easy, if you don't mind dying many times. Place a chest and a bed a few dozen blocks away from the ancient city, and set the bed as your spawn point. Drop all your stuff in the chest, and then clear out the shriekers by hand.
You can actually get the soul sand for the bubble column without going to the nether. There is soul sand in the ancient city. In the central section where you see the soul fires burning.
Just wondering, when will you do a blaze farm? I’ve been having issues with mine spawning and allowing the blazes to drop down to me since they can fly
i think a bottom half slab makes a difference, i always use one for a 21block drop and it always gets them to one shot each plus it stops baby zombies from escaping
You can put a fence on top of a chest and it will still open. When ever I make a kill box, I make it in an L or backwards L shape. Its 1 block deep and 5 or 6 block wide. The L part is where they drop and then they move out in the 1 block deep area. The front is fenced so mini zombies can't jump it. I put hoppers down along the whole length and carpet on top with the chest under the fence in the floor. I then put a gate at the opposite end of the drop so that I can separate zombie villagers from the regular zombies. I make my trading halls right next to it so I can keep curing zombie villagers and get buys I want at a discount. I'll make a little diagram as best I can. So early days and you think it is a good idea for new players to go to the Nether! I would think not and just manually kill the mobs or drop them down a hole just going down. Yeah you are confident BUT I bet there are a lot of early gamers that are not.
Its not that bad, you just need a single piece of soulsand. If your portal spawns you in a soulsand valley then pop through, grab it and leave. If not, just dig a staircase down and strip mine until you find a piece. Just be careful of lava pockets. Lava in the nether flows similarly to water. Also if you're dropping the zombies straight down then you wont be in range to activate the spawner
