@Seigu007 Hi, thanks for watching, I think the whaler comment was about the rescue boat, the idiot boat looked like a Silverline or something similar, best wishes , Dez
I've gone under this bridge a few times. Not crashed yet but its quite difficult and I will one day, not a great driver it's just always a nervous moment.
Nearly 40 years ago me and my Father hired a 2-3 berth from Potter Heigham ( through Hoseasons ) and it was in May ( bit cheaper ),the bloke at the Marina said we wouldn’t get under the bridge until the tide was right etc and the water was a bit lower…..well that was like waving a red flag at a bull with Dad,challenge accepted. I don’t know how we got through but you could have slipped a rizzla paper in between the bridge and the Boat ( Gemini 1 ) but we did it and I still remember watching the bloke from the Marina standing on the side scratching his head and the incredulous reaction on his Face. Talk about my Dad being chuffed Lol 😂. On Breydon water at Yarmouth the Boat was so slow going against the tide I had to take over steering while Dad did a bit of tinkering with the Engine… A few minutes later and we were cutting across there at about 15mph ( it went off the clock ! ) and when we got the other side it wasn’t long before we were shouted at " Mind your Wash " so we had to slow down a bit Lol 😂. That was another incredulous look from the River Police tho because he must have been thinking 🤔 ' How ' was that old thing going so quickly ?. We were more careful about our speed from that point on but we had to fill up with petrol from a garage ( Dad wouldn’t pay the price that some Marinas were charging ) 🤷♂️ we had smuggled aboard a old Jerry can with a bit of fuel in it lol 😂. Dad wasn’t a skinflint but we had to be frugal.
I've been there twice, we went to that bridge on one trip and after talking to the guy that helps go you under it and looking at the map and seeing not a lot on the other side, we decided not to go through it.
To be fair those boats are hired out to the public, no training or sailing experience required so the guy is not really The skipper, just a holiday maker!!. I remember being at that bridge as a small child maybe seven years old and we had to moor up and wait a couple of hours before we could pass underneath
@thumpersavage5cs Ahh but see the little skiff sneak around front at the end, the woman in blue didn't do it, he'd gone under the bridge and pushed the boat around...
I shot Potter Heigham bridge in a 5-berth cruiser once ( before days of a compulsory pilot) and managed it perfectly - except I forgot the TV aerial on the roof! It made a helluva row.......
you probably dont give a damn but does anybody know a trick to log back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly lost my account password. I would love any assistance you can offer me
@Moshe Richard I really appreciate your reply. I found the site on google and Im trying it out now. I see it takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Well, some guys are just used to fitting things into small openings.. its just that some of those do not expand, which is a concept this particular skipper might have had trouble grasping.
Had he put it in reverse and spun the wheel a certain way he could have easily gotten himself out of that situation long before his boat was pushed broadside to the bridge by the current. He'll probably sue the safety guy for scratching his boat now.
I don't like to look at idiots. The reason I watched this a little longer was the lady in jeans. Nah, no thumbs up for this one. He is just, well you folks already now. Wow lady, come on my boat.
Jix. They just need to have as many life jackets on the boat as people,they can store them but they gotta be readily accessible., unless youre under 13,they gotta have one on . Jekskiers must wear one. But for this it would've been wise to put them on
Ouch. No life jackets, using family as fenders, the boat is insured, they are not. Best thing you can do with some novices is turn the engine off and rope them out of difficulty.
I see the skipper of the "safety boat" is wearing no lifejacket, putting the boat into sharp turns at high throttle and isn't wearing a kill cord. Not really very responsible, especially considering he hasn't got anyone else onboard if he does fall overboard.
Locals have gathered here for years for the entertainment value given by grockles who cant handle a boat. We had a nice lunch a few years ago enlivened by a family in a 50fter which was pinned against the bridge just here for about 40mins due to tide and wind. No one generally gets hurt (unless you are really stupid) and the worst that happens is a red face and scratched hire boat GRP
You aren't buying a boat, you're buying an expensive crash course in physics.
You get my vote for best video title that I've seen in a long time.
There are two ways you can use a bridge . One way is to go over it and the other way is to go under it . Which one were they attempting ?
@Seigu007 Hi, thanks for watching, I think the whaler comment was about the rescue boat, the idiot boat looked like a Silverline or something similar, best wishes , Dez
@Norfolkscot I can't agree more, thanks for watching , Dez
Wroxham!/Potter higham, seen a big cruiser go bombing through here,smashed all the top canopy right off!!🥴🙄
I've gone under this bridge a few times. Not crashed yet but its quite difficult and I will one day, not a great driver it's just always a nervous moment.
It's not the only vessel that won't be entering the tunnel tonight ! 🤣
Yes , Great, boat crash corner at Neatishead on saturday for perch and idiot skippers, thanks for watching, Dez

Great story , thanks
@condorwave Thanks for viewing my video, Dez
I went through at the wrong angle? What the boat is too high angle...
@dave2806 Thanks for watching, I've seen worse without the camera, best wishes, Dez
@Sauls2286 Yes, correct, thanks for watching, Dez
So the boat didnt come with a reverse gear?
0:00 - 0:10
@dfredrich yeah, he needs to take a good, fast run at it.
"Yea I realise that. I went through at the wrong angle."
What does the guy say at the end?
@lewnik69 Great comment, thanks, Dez
No revers ?
I've been going on the Broads for years. I've never even attempted to go under that bridge.
I've been there twice, we went to that bridge on one trip and after talking to the guy that helps go you under it and looking at the map and seeing not a lot on the other side, we decided not to go through it.
Unless you have a canoe you won't be able to go under it
@xr8dpixel Correct, You have won a trip on Titanic 2, guess who is the skipper!!!!!!!!
Thanks for watching
Let some air out of the tires, it will get through.
Well at least he has some nice people helping him..
What happened to having to use the Pilots to go through?
Obviously a charter boat. Nobody would bang up their own boat like these dufi.
Where are the life vests?
Just beginners, gotta start somewhere I just hope I'm as this forgiving in august when I'll be sailing there , ahem
When your wife has to put her hand on the bridge , things aren't going well.
haha you can tell by the amount of fenders!
This looks like Potter Heigham bridge, the sign states no craft to pass under bridge without the bridge pilot!
To be fair those boats are hired out to the public, no training or sailing experience required so the guy is not really The skipper, just a holiday maker!!. I remember being at that bridge as a small child maybe seven years old and we had to moor up and wait a couple of hours before we could pass underneath
Hey Herp!... do you think i can fit it under the bridge? Say! I dont know Derp! Lets find out!
@lewnik69 that made 100 percent sense....great job!!!
Hi Des, how about an update?
This summer I will be out with the camera , cheers
Been on the broads a few times now, some things i've seen you would never believe!
bridge is okay just too much water....
If he had only been going faster when he tried to go through! Maybe a little lard on the hull and 40+ MPH. I am sure that it would work! LOL
you probably dont give a damn but does anybody know a trick to log back into an Instagram account??
I stupidly lost my account password. I would love any assistance you can offer me
@Martin Shane instablaster ;)
@Moshe Richard I really appreciate your reply. I found the site on google and Im trying it out now.

@Moshe Richard it did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. Im so happy!
Thank you so much, you really help me out :D
@Martin Shane happy to help :)
@razzledingle Hi, Thanks for watching
Peter Gore Seer,
Its Part Of The Fun, A Bit Better Use Of Fenders Can Help.
My dad and I got stuck there 40 years ago too - stuck our nose out from under the bridge and the tide pushed us across and wedged us in.
Well, some guys are just used to fitting things into small openings.. its just that some of those do not expand, which is a concept this particular skipper might have had trouble grasping.
What were they even thinking!?!
Had he put it in reverse and spun the wheel a certain way he could have easily gotten himself out of that situation long before his boat was pushed broadside to the bridge by the current. He'll probably sue the safety guy for scratching his boat now.
You have little control in reverse, he should have consulted the pilot first for advice.
doesn't look like the training wheels (corner roller bumpers) were much assistance in this case....
@magarupa111 thanks for watching, cheers
grab a beer and wait for the tide.
All those fenders and not 1 of them was doing anything through the whole sorry mess.
Not the first, won't be the last. TheP.H. bridge strikes again.
Well, the problem is they need more fenders hanging off the boat.
Ummmmm....that's a no-go, Skipper. ;)
The key is speed, I'm sure it would have fit if you had just gone faster :)
I don't like to look at idiots. The reason I watched this a little longer was the lady in jeans. Nah, no thumbs up for this one. He is just, well you folks already now. Wow lady, come on my boat.
Did he really think he was going to hold it and pull the boat 🤣
Notice the rescue guy was in a Whaler 13
@jix177 I was just thinking the same thing, and saw your comment!
Jix. They just need to have as many life jackets on the boat as people,they can store them but they gotta be readily accessible., unless youre under 13,they gotta have one on . Jekskiers must wear one. But for this it would've been wise to put them on
1:40 no, lady, no!
Mum was HUGE help!
Perfect saying, good saying.
Peter Gore Seer,
Strange The Tide Could Move Them Out Of Trouble It Appears To Be Moving In A Left Direction Out Of Truuble, Its Moving Down.
@blackdiamondmarine Yep, You got it
If Norfolk did bridges....theyd probably be the best Bridges in the world....only Norfolk cud pull this off!!!!!!!!!
Ouch. No life jackets, using family as fenders, the boat is insured, they are not. Best thing you can do with some novices is turn the engine off and rope them out of difficulty.
Thanks !!! Sorry I am not in the videoo
did i hear right that their in the Royal Navy 0:59
Lucky theres plenty of fenders out.
3 on that boat .. Jesus that's cosey.
i saw 1 boat beside a bridge and people looking at it ..rather boring ..but it was a nice day..think ill go watch ice melt..guess i need some exitment
not even a thankyou..
Glad he put fenders all around. Phew
that's what norfolk broads are all about
Get that girl over here, we'll give her a good ride while you play with your lill boat :)
if it dont work foreward try sideways
I think they need some astro glide!
Deck chair beer better than tv
Your gonna need a smaller boat.
Grease the sides, then try it !
I see the skipper of the "safety boat" is wearing no lifejacket, putting the boat into sharp turns at high throttle and isn't wearing a kill cord. Not really very responsible, especially considering he hasn't got anyone else onboard if he does fall overboard.
can you say. uhh.. sttoopid?! WoW.. and to have all these ppl get it on video!! LMAO!
HOW ????? DOPE !!!!!
@Lumixster Yes, Mushy peas !!!!!!!
Y'know what they say tunnels...
and he cant get it in! lol
Not his own boat propably a hire boat. Skipper hasn't a clue and probably just works in an office.
Sunk ? No chance it’s only 6 ft deep 😂😂
cant he get a ramp...?:P
Apparently the gentleman had no clue as to using rudder.
0:58 Rescue says, just so we are clear, we are going to tow you this way.
2:09 Goddamn Owned by a Bridge @^@&*
Who cares that was a nice pair of jeans on that woman!!

I went in at the wrong angle !!! Sideways lol.
why dont you pay a skipper
Not a life jacket in sight . . .
hire boat?
probably came through it ok at lower tide
I don't see anything wrong, all they need is a little KY Jelly..... LMNO!
