All because he did not want to spend £5 for a pilot to take the boat through.

Boat Crash ...again., on the Norfolk Broads
A pack of unsightly bunglers: acting as if bridge or boat were to blame, not themselves.
Lol
Never let them hire another boat😮
Would have loved to have seen the outcome.
"You can't park there mate".
3 on that boat .. Jesus that's cosey.
We used to sit hours at the side of this bridge when we were kids, very entertaing
Not a life jacket in sight . . .
Mans a complete knob head
Brain dead and stupid come to mind
I'm surprised they still let boat holiday makers use it
Absolute idiots. For a start they were going to fast. I hope they got fined big
I only ask this cos I don't believe what I am seeing
are ppl really so stupid
pair of right wallys hope it was their boat
Only way back out of that is to let enough water into the bilge
Ouch. No life jackets, using family as fenders, the boat is insured, they are not. Best thing you can do with some novices is turn the engine off and rope them out of difficulty.
Pilot even tells them to wait 20 minutes but they choose to spend diesel and calories to fight water stone and steel
They built a new bridge for vehicles but keep the old one because it is listed. I think they should cut around it, breaking the road (cars can use the new bridge) and bringing tourist money to the northern section of the river.
It's people like this who give normal people a bad rap.
Why would you take the time to do an Irish jig on the back of your boat when it's stuck , some people are just so inconsiderate.
From 0:46 just tie up to the staithe, go get some chips and wait for the tide to turn.
I think that's the call of a Great Tit. I'll leave you to work out what he's saying.
1:40 no, lady, no!
Folk in the UK are not too bright sometimes
First time ever I heard ducks laughing
What on earth was the point of the safety boat? You'd never pull a cruiser with a tiny craft with an outboard like that. When I worked at Herbie Woods back in the 80s and 90s we'd take it turns to take out one of the old wooden cruisers to pull boats free, they managed it easy as you like.
I can't honestly see how dancing an Irish jig is going to help, but I suppose you'll consider anything if you're desperate enough.
If you think this was a disaster watch them load this vessel onto the trailer.
That Dude had short hair when they started this exit.
Beautiful and healthy micro dwarf tomato plants and all fruiting.
He wouldn’t attempt that with his own boat, so why do it with someone else’s.
What a complete tool captain pugwash, think I'd have abandoned ship and caught the bus home 😮
Only an asshole would approach at that speed.
Legend has it, they are still stuck there.
why a MUST SEE?
Nearly 40 years ago me and my Father hired a 2-3 berth from Potter Heigham ( through Hoseasons ) and it was in May ( bit cheaper ),the bloke at the Marina said we wouldn’t get under the bridge until the tide was right etc and the water was a bit lower…..well that was like waving a red flag at a bull with Dad,challenge accepted. I don’t know how we got through but you could have slipped a rizzla paper in between the bridge and the Boat ( Gemini 1 ) but we did it and I still remember watching the bloke from the Marina standing on the side scratching his head and the incredulous reaction on his Face. Talk about my Dad being chuffed Lol 😂. On Breydon water at Yarmouth the Boat was so slow going against the tide I had to take over steering while Dad did a bit of tinkering with the Engine… A few minutes later and we were cutting across there at about 15mph ( it went off the clock ! ) and when we got the other side it wasn’t long before we were shouted at " Mind your Wash " so we had to slow down a bit Lol 😂. That was another incredulous look from the River Police tho because he must have been thinking 🤔 ' How ' was that old thing going so quickly ?. We were more careful about our speed from that point on but we had to fill up with petrol from a garage ( Dad wouldn’t pay the price that some Marinas were charging ) 🤷♂️ we had smuggled aboard a old Jerry can with a bit of fuel in it lol 😂. Dad wasn’t a skinflint but we had to be frugal.
Great story , thanks

Better than watching Laurel and Hardy...
This looks like Potter Heigham bridge, the sign states no craft to pass under bridge without the bridge pilot!
The boatyards used to tell hirers that your boat should never cause a cup of tea to be spilled on a moored boat. The footware was not perfect on this but there was no crunch, no shouting, it was good natured and there was great care for the boats. Not expert but a good result.
i'll wager its the same people who can't reverse or park their car properly as well. i dread to think what the costs are to the hire boat companies every year and to the owners of other boats they've crashed into. better training and testing and legislation needs implimenting so these clowns don't get let out !
Perfect saying, good saying.
This happens all the time, to boats, trucks, cars, truck with loads and so on, how come , you should know your car/truck/boat size , you own it, or use it how you don't know it !!?
Hire companies should shoulder most of the blame for this sort of thing. They are keen to hire out boats but don't take training/experience seriously. Hirers tend to go from full ahead to full astern crashing into privately owned boats (someone's pride and joy) without a care. Money talks I am afraid. I have seen and experienced so many examples of bad driving it makes me sick. It is time hire companies were held responsible for their clients "accidents".
Some people are just idiots
I've heard that pilots occasionally take a few people on board, 40-50 stone or so. But this side is tricky due to the currents. The jumping was blooming optimistic!
In Australia we call them "Dickheads"...Why didn't someone tell him just to let some air out of the tyres....
When Laurel and Hardy try to SAIL... only they were under power, not sail.
