@@dashcamuk23 lol. Point taken. However, laughing at someone who is clearly incompetent and about to run into another boat is not really a laughing matter. I have never driven one of these boats on the Norfolk Broads, but they seem to handle like a truck until the driver gets used to them. My sailing experience was on my twenty four foot yacht on Sydney harbour where things could happen very quickly, especially over the weekend.
Those are not really expensive boats, they are inexpensive rental tubberware caravans on the water, often driven by people who never been on a boat before. It seems mayhem but thankfully few fatalities or serious injuries despite the numbers of unlicensed and totally inexperienced crews on these boats. The video was funny due to the laughter of the crew on the following vessel. I though the Shannon hire fleets were bad but the broads takes first prize for darwin's explanation of human intelligence. Not body hurt, and hopefully everybody enjoyed the rest of their holiday.
@@oceanfroggie there is at least £100,000 per boat which deffo is expensive. They used to charge a security deposit ontop of hire fee but they stopped years ago for some reason
I fail to see what is so amusing. That's a hire boat (most likely) and it's now damaged, well, two hire boats damaged. The people steering it (lunatics) will just head off home at the end of the hire and the boat owners will have the damage to deal with. Not only that, someone might have been hurt.... Annoying behaviour it is, funny it is not.
People find it hard to understand that when you turn the wheel, the boat pivots from around the middle and wants to slew sideways. The helm's biggest mistake was to hit full throttle, it never helps.
We all react differently. Nobody was hurt, which is the most important thing but something was very wrong. A mechanical problem seems unlikely. People sometimes hire totally unsuitable boats, especially the very elderly. I've seen 3 families sharing a boat for a booze cruise. Booze is a big problem on all boats. Two ships collided on a nearby river, - one sank,- because its crew were so sozzled. Having a giggle is great. Drowning people, not so good. And that was the risk....
its only funny to watch from a distance lol. if I was getting hit by the idiot and I owned the my own boat then of course we don't see the humor in it. Funny when its some other knob though lol

Probably deliberate by the looks of things and could land the 'master' (ie whoever is at the helm) in court, there were children on the bow of the vessel. Irresponsible beyond belief and no defence whatsoever.

What the hell is so funny about incompetents in expensive boats.
Because... Why not
My thoughts exactly 💯

New money is can be so vulgar. Maybe he had a throttle or steering issue. But it’s oh so funny. Prats
The irritating laughing at something that wasn’t very funny is of concern (not to mention, juvenile).

This isn't funny, absolutely terrible behaviour
Blimey.. sorry captain pugwash
some people just shouldnt be on the broads...
the people laughing at others expense are lame

No there not that’s life.

Well you're all muppets, stay to the right using the contours of the river to let others overtake in the centre. 🙄
You should never fly the Union Flag (Jack) from a boat
Why not?
@@dashcamuk23 Apparently only Royal Navy ships are allowed to fly the Union flag, other UK vessels should fly the Red Duster,
Seems a bit overkill lol
Who's going to care? We flew a Pirate flag on the River Ant for over 20 minutes.
@@dashcamuk23 You could actually be fined for flying a union flag instead of the red ensign.
I think that boat would do a better job steering itself. The person operating it probably thought he was still in a car trying to correct oversteer
That wasn't funny.
Well ok then
yes it was derek

Not sure why those videoing this crazy behaviour thought it was funny. That boat collision could have caused serious injuries and boat damage.
You've literally just written off 98% of UA-cam with this comment

How the fuck is that accident funny?
"That made my day"
Unbelievable ignorance! 😢

Are they tacking?
No they're Twatting
What “f” is funny about that
Have you had a labotomy?
Nothing funny at all. As funny as a car crash.
That can be funny in some circumstances.. this is one of them
You and your friends certainly have. 🖕
Captain dullard speaks up.
I hope the boat that was crashed into phoned the boat yard of the boat that crashed into them and reported it
Whoever rents these boats out are responsible no pre trading even if it’s for just a couple of hours
This is hilarious. Watching some div who clearly shouldn't be in charge of anything mechanical, let alone a boat is pathetic.
Classic...what a numpty. Thanks for the laugh x
You are welcome
The soundtrack made this video so much better
It’s like something out of a carry on boating movie
Was the Caprain drunk?
Stupid laughing at what could be an accident waiting
They were on the weed by the sound of that.
He was tying his shoe laces heh!

What happens when people don't have a clue About boats.. Maybe stick to a butlins holiday next time 😂😂
Yep. More money than sense.
You can't drive a red coat
he was having a heart attack,
Nah just a div
Thats about how I drive never have a hand on the tiller usually doing sowt else though always notice before a collision

No. It was HW Emerald Light who did the crashing

Crumbs, first time I've ever seen that happen. I understand that the yard give some tuition before handover... so, erm, I wonder if he took it all in.
I hired a 40' boat years ago - the instruction was practically non existent.
5 mins of instruction on a straight bit of river is practically pointless
