Just when you thought it was safe to go out ! I must say it looks good and has the modern technology I've owned three speedy s and sold them all because they just didn't perform not water proof no dates not automatic eventually went to the explorer 2 42mm 😍 this new FOIS looks fantastic looking forward to trying it on Thanks Adrian great content 🙏
I think it’s great and agree the fauxtina works in this one. If the timing was better I’d be picking one up! Something else it has that the 321 version with the same bracelet doesn’t have is a tool less micro adjust on the bracelet.
Am i missing something... Oris have been making a heavily domed Sapphire Crystal on the Oris 65 for years... i know this Omega package is far Far superior, but really does Omega adding this Sapphire really deserve the amount of praise at this cost?!?!
IMHO, the Speedmaster Professional case with the twisted lugs and crown guards is one of the most practical, and beautiful pieces of product design in all of watchmaking. I’d even say that the Speedy Pro is one of the most iconic and enduring bits of product design from the entire 20th century. (Subs would 100% be in there too). For me, the straight lugs and earlier case design are just not as iconic, and spin the whole look and feel of the watch off. I know the design is a historic throwback, but Omega updated the case for valid and practical reasons.
I'm surprised no one else has an issue with the hands being different colors/material. I wish the chrono hands were just polished. I suppose the original did have white hands which didn't age like the rest so it is true to that. Just stands out when looking at it to me.
Looks like the running seconds hand is same as hr/min hand. It’s not painted white like other 2 sundials and harder to see in some angles. Not all uniform like regular moon version.
@@dukes70 Yea its just the chrono counters (Second, minute, hour) that are white. Practically this makes them stand out and easier to read if needed I suppose. But visually looks off to me compared to the rest of the subdued colors. I'll have to see one in person soon.
@@toneswinger for sure, it makes sense from a practical standpoint. But that seems somewhat at odds with the fauxtina and polished appearance. But when you see the original it does make it a more faithful rendition.
It looks a very special piece but I too still only see them as a £3-4k watch, I ended up getting my Glassbox Carrera Reverse Panda which is a very expensive piece non the less but Tag Heuer don’t rub the wrong way like Omega have with their price hikes
I love the idea of reproducing a 1959 classic but with all the advantages of modern materials and technology. How I wish Rolex would do the same thing and produce a modernised version of the 5 digit Submariner. The 5 digit Sub was so much more elegant, better sized and proportioned than the current iterations.
My favorite 2024 is the Prospex Limited Edition 1965 Recreation European Exclusive in Gradation Island Blue. The dial is stunning and the contrast when on a white strap is to die for. I will get my hands on one from MAMACOO
Oris diver 65 have doom Sapphire crystal long ago and heck even Rado from the same Swatch group had launched Captian Cook with doom sapphire crystal a few years back. IT TOOK OMEGA LONG ENOUGH...
Took a look at it in person last weekend. There are lots of things that I like but the one thing that makes it inferior in my opinion is the legibility. With the chrome hands and the domed glass and the concentric structure of the dial there is a LOT going on…that’s where the „standard“ speedmaster really shines.
looks great, especially with the black leather strap and at a more wearable size too! Will be keeping an eye on the second-hand market as the price will start to come back down to Earth over the next 12-18 months!
Awesome watch , i just found my ultimate speed master ❤ . Trust me, u'll appreciate the changes and the multiple releases once u walk into a room and everyone is wearing the same ROLEX. And u discover ur hard earned rolex is just another rolex
The advantage with any Sports Rolex over Omega is the quality of the strap and the fact that your Rolex won’t lose value when you take it out of the shop!
@@paulrogers5961 Maybe not everyone is buying an Omega to re-sell it :D I have my new Seamaster 300diver and was comparing do Submariner. I respect the Rolex brand but Omega delivers more for less money...
Fully polished lugs & outer links, legibility of the hands(compared to the moonwatch), no exhibition case back, and orange lume all make it a no-go for me.
0:44 In fact that's the " SOIS - Second Omega In Space " Also a manual wind Speedmaster CK2998-4 chronograph, belonging to MA-9 astronaut Gordo Cooper who in May 1963 compared it with his personal battery powered Accutron Astronaut GMT pilot watch during the 22 orbits "Faith 7" spaceflight mission, seeing both watches worked flawlessly in the near zero-gravity environment. Of course in May 1962 Malcolm Scott Carpenter already wore a bespoke Swiss-made Breitling Navitimer 806-24h during 3 orbits "Aurora 7" mission. BTW "Moonwatchuniverse" revealed some amazing things for the 70th anniversary of the Navitimer !
Are you going to have mugs again on B&J? Was going to order some straps and a mug the other day here in the US, but the mugs were gone and don't want to have to pay shipping twice so I'm holding off currently
I really wonder which speedy you will add to your collection at some point. My guess is either the white or hesalite speedy pro but the FOIS would look great in your collection too.
Hexalith is a thing for astronauts, the real ones, who must not break glass in absence of gravity. That would lead to floating glass pieces that get inhaled and cause havoc. For those grounded folks, I suppose the clarity of a sapphire is quite a bit nicer
Nice to see your straps on some watches. I feel your website lacks that and all the straps look the same. You have to go in deep before you get an explanation of the different materials. That's what I found as a first user. I probably bought the wrong straps in hindsight. Straps with a single stripes look good. Grey with orange/white 😉.. Oh yeah the new speed master is growing on me. Wait a year or two and pick it up on the secondary market. The price is more realistic then, after the initial hype.
Hello! Thanks for your feedback regarding our shop - good news is we've also identified that we need more photos on watches, and we're going to be implementing this soon. Stay tuned, and thanks for the support.
No doubt it's hot. But I am definitely on the team of no faux lume...even though I can admit looks great with the dark blue grey dial, it just feels inauthentic on a new watch.
"...the benefit of sapphire crystal is that it is scratch-resistant and it will just stay crystal clear forever pretty much" - (drops his Rolex Explorer on a rock)
AB, T4YC: It is possible to make too many version of an item. I believe that the MoonSwatch will be judged in the future as a cynical model expansion, purely to support the balance sheet of Swatch Group, and in the long term will have a negative effect on both Omega and the Speedmaster brands.
Stunning dial and great size, but the bracelet….. The bracelet on the new professional is so spectacular it’s become my go to daily…. Over my explorers, over my Daytona…. My only wish for the speedmaster has always been for the added security of a screw down crown…. IMO the only thing that makes the Rolex still a superior daily tool…
When I graduated high school this watch retailed for around $3-4k USD and that really wasn’t that long ago. The current pricing is sort of insane since it’s basically doubled and not much has changed.
Picked up a MAMACOO's watch as my first watch last month and I’m absolutely in love with it. Perfect size, looks elegant, very comfortable. Now my only problem is holding off from buying more watches so quickly!

Unless you’re a speedmaster fan, the current pro is a more reasonable choice (same movement, cheaper if you go hesalite and arguably better bracelet). Coming from someone who owns 321 speedy.
Have to disagree with you on that bracelet comment as a 321 owner as well. Its better than the pro. But do agree probably better going for a pro than this FOIS.
@@watchfalcon122 thanks. I owned the 3861 before so I made assessment on that. Aesthetically I may agree on that but for comfort I still choose 3816 - 321’s bracelet may wear too loose when you’re on colder weather/temperature.
I love that they've managed to take the convenience of sapphire and make it look as special as hesalite. I have 2019 hesalite speedy and while it looks better, it's got a couple of big scratches that not even poly watch can handle! I don't like the faux patina though. The contrast of white on black looks better in my biased opinion. Still, it's a nice watch and maybe I need to see one in person to compare it.
