    We have to go individual steps in Ireland when doing heritage jobs.
    The office of public works thinks the point where the diagonal meets the horizontal is prone to let in water (with no evidence)
    The Herringbone looks far better and youve done a top class job as always.

    The dip at the bottom is because it isn't tiled correctly. The tile and a half at the bottom doesn't have an eave tile under it. So it sits up on the verge tile. But dips down into the wall. Looks like they just parged up underneath it. You don't finish a bottom like that.

    Thank you for your videos! What is the best way to cut sheet lead up to 14-gauge (1/8th inch in US)? I am looking for a non-manual tool. Shears? Nibblers? panel cutters? please advise if you get a chance. Thanks so much.

      I usually cut my lead with eclipse tin snips or by using a knife.
      Thanks for watching.

    What is the thickness of your lead sheets all so what type of oil do you use to wipe down?

      The lead here was code 4 which is 1.80mm.
      And I used Associated Lead Mills patination oil.
      Thanks for watching.

    how do you curve flat lead

    • @slbleadworks
      @slbleadworks  8 місяців тому

      I do it all the time.
      In this case I hold the lead against the wall whilst it’s sitting on the tiles.
      I then fold the lead out from the bottom and push it down to follow the curve.
      I then dress the pulled out lead flat whilst holding the desired curve.
