    I think you need to start doing a suspension 'bounce' test on the Majorette cars. I recall from extensive testing as a kid that the suspension is far superior to anything offered by Matchbox or Corgi and allowed for realistic 'body roll' when acting out car chases etc!! Keep up the good work!

    Great color and great restoration. In France front lights were yellow in these days. Therefore painting them in chrome does not meet the original. But it looks nice. Maybe you could have made something with the number plates as well. I think they were black with white numbers.

    Beautiful, beautiful I say! Great work Rob. I LOVE those Majorette from the 70s and 80s - they are the best era of Majorette IMO. They have so many great little details on the body and the suspension is superior to other brands. But the more modern ones from the 90s and up, they don’t have the same feel and quality IMO. Although I will say that Majorette has stepped up in recent years, but the modern ones can’t compete with the 70s and 80s Majorette

    • @richard29415

    Excellent paint match -looks fantastic.
    I was thinking about the headlights. Someone already mentioned that a lot of these would have yellow headlights. Would a wee drop of clear yellow, on top of the silver, give her that continental look? Just a thought.😁

    Bonjour Rob 😁
    Interesting choice with this Majorette Simca 1100 TI. It's good when an old toycar with a special body is choose for resto or custom. I also like the choice of the paint, very similar to the original. How do you find a paint so identical ? 🤔
    I also try on my customs cars the silver paint on clear plastic headlights but, after review the job, I think it would be better to paint the interior side of the headlights with a chrome paint like Molotov markers.

    Nice job. But to crome the Headlights was a fault. Every french car in this period of time had yellow headlights or at least yellow lightbulbs. That used to be french law until the 1980's. And it was not allowed in germany to drive a french car with yellow lights. They had to be clear. As far as i can see your casting is an lhd car. So yellow headlights are the correct ones. It's not to criticise your fabulous work. It is just an information. Or better a lesson in french automobil history. 😉👍👍👍

    • @BungleBare
      @BungleBare 3 роки тому

      @@thierrymilan2039 it was a twofold use for the cut-outs in the base. As well as clipping them into the box, the cut-outs were later used to clip models into a moving road system (a bit like a train set you could attach your Majorette models to). Can’t remember what it was called, but I once saw this system displayed in Hamleys in the ‘80s. Some of the extras for the moving road system lived on for longer as Majorette accessories - I had a number of clip together pavement sections and road signs in the late ‘80s.
