Best LURES and TACTICS to Catch The Biggest Trout - PA Trout Fishing (Secrets Revealed) Big Palomino

- Trout fishing is one of my favorites types of fishing. Hit a couple different rivers in Pennsylvania including McMichaels creek for these big trout! There's nothing like going on an Uncle Larry Outdoors Send and wading up miles of river in search for giant trout. Over 3 years of hardcore trout hunting has really taught me alot; from how to fish a stretch of river to the best lures for different times of year. This video highlights how to catch giant trout during the spring.
If you take anything away from this video its that:
1. You always want to work from downstream to up, methodically working a pool
2. Trout oftentimes key onto 1 presentation, fish a multitude of different lures until you find the one
3. Fish structure that is out of the ordinary . For example undercut banks or fallen trees
4. High flows are your friend. As long as theres enough clarity for the fish to see, you want to be fishing. In the spring when bugs and other bait is pushed into the river feeding mode for the trout is switched on.
5. Pink powerbait worms, blue fox spinners, pin minnow jerkbaits, johnson spoons, and keitechs are my favorite.
6. Buy good jigheads. Its worth your investment; Mooneye 1/16 ounce are my go to!
Hope you guys like the video and get something from these tips! Tight lines - Розваги
U guys are the best...just watched one of your videos from a year ago about trout fishing...while watching the vid I clicked on the description...I got more info from there than some other so called experts 30 or 40 minute videos...keep up the great work guys
Great guide work!!!! Thx for the river tour!!!!! Lovely fish!!!!
Feel like collaborating in the spring? I'll be traveling to Pa atleast once during the 2021 season and it looks like you boys are on em!
Lmfaooooo
great to see you again on the water again ! That is big Trout !!! liked !
Thank you so much man! Your comments mean a lot! Tight lines!
*It's great caught caught a brown trout on the first cast. **enjoyable.fishing** recommend if it was a little smaller it would be more effective for different species*
Man bro, I'm mega jealous! Your so lucky to be able to fish such a small body of water with such big fish. Incredible spot, incredible fish
Means a lot bro! So thankful for the water we have around here. It’s been a blessing being able to spend all this time in the outdoors exploring the tristate area to find spots like this.
@@TheSkyeLife Do you mind me asking what area this is? I am going to PA next week for some trout fishing. I am from NH. We got trout but not that big.
@@Dantheslotman You're kidding, right? lol
Do you always let them go bet they taste good too
Wow awesome catch that huge trout!!!!! Congratulations!!! I should say awesome catches many huge trout
It needs to be April 2. Just grabbed most of my gear for summer. Grabbing an ebike so I can adventure further this summer and hopefully camp at least once or twice. Hoping to find some new hidden gem spots. Great video though man. That rainbow trout was massive. I'm hoping to land some palamino and catfish this summer.
You have some really nice sized trout in your area, I've seen your other videos as well! Loved the scenery-pool shot when you caught the colorful Palomino trout.. (banana fish? - Ha!).
Thanks joe! Really appreciate it! Haha the first palomino I ever caught, I thought i snagged a yellow leaf lol. They’re an interesting fish. Not to mention if they don’t want to bite, they won’t bite. I’ve fished for one for 8 hours before getting a good take!
@@TheSkyeLife (yellow leaf? lol) In that case, Patience and Persistence paid off, I'd check off the "bucket-fish-list" and frame that photo!
Wow man that’s a beautiful fish you caught
Great video!! I miss fishing already.....we just got 10" snow....Haha
Great video guy!
what a nice Brown ! I love trout fishing in Pa.
Nothing beats it! Thank u bro! How has the trout fishing been for you this year?
Cool. Nice fish
Nice trout fishing brother 👍🎣
That means a lot Xavier! Trout fishing is my true passion! I just love it
Thanks and greetings from Kayseri.
Unbelesveble how healthy and strong the trouts are
WOW!!!! WHAT A FISH!!!
Great video, very informative! When I fish in high flows, I often struggle for a couple of reasons, both related to the speed of the water. First of all, I have trouble with giving the fish enough time to see my lure before the current carries it out of the strike zone. Also, I have trouble getting my lures low enough in the water column. Do you have any tips for how to get better with either of these?
Thanks Samson! Great question, I’ve experienced that a lot myself! Best way to combat that is to cast above the area you want the lure to target. Let it sink for a second and reel at a speed that is equal to the flow of the river. Keep the line tight and wait for that bite! Works better with jigs but u can slow roll spinners too.
Thank you, I’ll have to try that next time out there!
@@samsonk2077 I'll use some strategically placed (as light as possible) small as possible split shot. Find a "waste spot" similar to the place you want to fish and add them slowly until you have it weighted just right and dosen't affect the lure too much. Remember, it only takes a few to get it right! I use a neutral to floating lure.
I used to live in Pennsylvania in Pottsville and Lancaster Pennsylvania and I caught a lot of big fish but that was Great what Creeks were you fishing in
Pottsville here!
hi nice vid, whats your rod and reel?
What else do you have with your pink worm like a weight or anything I don't really know if I should use a weight or not
You should try out some of the mini jigs that are made here in California. These mini jigs are absolute killers, way better than the blue foxes and rooster tails. If you’re interested, I’ll let you know which companies make the best.
Great Vid. What size and style of Keitech swimbait were you using?
Thanks man! Im using a 2 inch keitech in this vid. I think they are the swim impact. I also love the easy shiners!
New sub! Liked 😊😀☺️☺️
This is one of my favorite spots when I’m in the area. I’ve caught them in july.
Heyyy, where is this spot? Looking to take my daughter.🙏🏾🙏🏾
Can you come to nj and try the Rovkaway River in Booton
Holy crap,, ide be so happy to have caught any f those fish but that MONTER BROWN WOULD BE ON MY WALL ! Wow, your so Lucky.
Go to lake Michigan tributaries in mid October for big browns. North of Buffalo on Ontario tribs are also bomb for big browns in the fall.
My dads favorite spinner was bluefox, until he made his own, maybe someday they will be known, for palaminos dry flies are killer
I've been trout fishing since I was a we kid and im 25 now live in Lancaster I have caught rainbows ,brown brooks and wild trout but I've yet to catch a paly
Idk man, I hear same thing and I've always thought rainbow put up a better fight. And I love that you properly identified that fish as a palomino
He didn’t Identify it properly . It’s a golden Rainbow . Palominos don’t exist anymore
Try Joe's fly's 1/4 oz royal coachmen it's the only lure I use period in different sizes
What spinning trout setup do you recommend? I am looking to upgrade mine but don’t know what to get.
I love the shimano sahara reels. I have the 1000 size. For the rod I would recommend either a st croix trout series ultralight or the premiere series light rod! Good luck out there trout fishin bro!
I know this is an older video but I’m new to fishing and could really use some help learning everything again. Any pointers to make friends? I’m in south Jersey.
Hey Adriel! I’d love to help as much as I can. Fishing is a great thing to get into. My best advice would be make a fishing insta gram and start posting some pics of your adventures. That’s how I met most of the people I know through fishin now! Good luck bro! As long as your doing it for you and just having a good time out there that’s all that counts! Keep on sending it!
Me here trying to go to sleep at12:45 and needing to get up at 5 am to go fishing me watching this video:👁👄👁
what colored keitech do you use? or use in this video?
Forget the exact color but lemme try to find it for you. It’s a greyish color.
What is the creek? If you are willing to give it. I am hunting for a 20+ inch trout. Nice video!
Is it just me or does that brown at 0:06 actually look like a native? Not stocked?
Can you help me out where are these big fish I live in nj I’ve never got anything bigger then 12 inches what rivers are they in
I gotchu bro! In one of the upcoming vids I talk about how to locate trout and find the big ones!
🔥🔥🔥
🤙 thanks man!
Some great ideas in here.... Sadly I just fly fish, so not for me :) However, your viewers will appreciate. That brown at the end, and the take, were epic. What a gorgeous wild brown! Were you in PA? If so, where at? Tight lines man and excellent video here!
Thanks bro!! I appreciate it 🤙 yeah this was all Pa, not exactly able to give up the exact location but it was within driving distance from jersey! I do drive pretty far in search of fish so driving distance is a loose term lol
@@TheSkyeLife Got ya. So not necessarily in the state itself then. Thanks anyway
Heard some anglers got arrested fishing reservoir tailwater. I'm hoping we get to see that series. Part of the tips n tricks 2.0 edition
@@haastnation9922 you off IG? I don’t see you there when I look.
@@tightliningmd yeah I bailed. Then bailed. Then bailed again. I'm gonna give my account away online for Xmas it's on pause. Somebody will get 10k (expert) followers instantly. Hopefully they do something good with it. Like burning it to the ground ☺️ lol ..
What state and city or town are you in or just ware are you
65 years a river rat here in Michigan. I've never had an opportunity to catch a golden. Are they planted or natural there? (course I subbed, I like the way you communicate, it's easy to understand) Thanks.
They are stocked. Most PA streams won't hold rainbows all year.
I got little sunfish that got ot done for me
Are these waters clean enough to eat the catch? Thanks!
Definitely clean enough especially if it’s a mountain stream. Personally I wouldn’t eat the stocked fish cus they’re raised in not the best environment. But Ik a lot of guys who eat what they catch. My best recommendation would be eat the fish from the water that looks relatively drinkable haha
Where in pa?
Great video ! Which river in PA?
Thank you Sonia! Can’t exactly say but just gettin out there and exploring will bring you to some amazing places and you’ll find some big fish too! Pa is incredible
Stream fishing for trout is far better than a river, in Pa.
Had a BUNCH of luck last year with rat tail power bait (normally, I hate power bait)
I've never tried power bait we don't use them in Ireland have you has much success on them? Can you recommend any for trout?
What part of pa are these streams
Eastern pa
I’ve caught two palominos this year both above 20 inches
Thats incredible bro! Quite the feat, pallys are usually super finicky.
My biggest palamino was about 24 inches but I live in the main city of pittsburgh so I gotta travel to catch trout
They are golden rainbow trout
I need this skye thanks
Gotchu Alex!! Keep crushin the wilds out there 🤙
im mind blown you are able to catch trout that size that often. whats your full setup when fishing with a jighead? never used them and know basically nothing about them you seem like the guy to ask
I wish this was a live reaction, to bad your audio wasn’t working when you caught that first rainbow
U got me lol
how is the average trout there so big???
They stock em chunky 🥸
Hey man amazing vids if you live anywhere near bradford pa or fish near bradford pa I would love to do a collab with you. Hit me up.
Classic spinner fisherman throwing upstream and ripping it was too fast. Use a joe fly spinner throw across stream and let it work deep and slow you’ll catch way more fish. You don’t even have to reel and that spoon will spin just fine in the current and attract those hesitant fish
Thank you tanner! This advice will absolutely go to use! And when I throw the Joe’s spinner I’ll be sure you give you a little shoutout in the vid! Appreciate it man!
Mmm hey
Got a spot where a palamino is and i cant catch it
Congratulations you caught a stocked trout 😢 would you like a medal or chest to pin it on😅
Do you ever fly fish ?
Oh yeah! You gotta see some of the recent vids and vids from last fall!
Best tactic by far is fly fishing, wild and stocked trout will smash any perfectly presented nymph Infront of them
They stocked garbage this year. We want 16 to 25 inch fish again. As pa anglers we deserve it. We pay high prices for licenses. We deserve better fish like back in early 2000s. here in western pa it's 14 inch average this year ... Ashame.
There is really no such thing as a wild brown trout the only trout native to Pennsylvania is the brook trout
You guys never say where you are
It’s a secret spot hehe
