You are such a wonderful person...you give good advice and much needed encouragement....thank you so much for sharing your talents in this embroidery with using the ribbon...plus I really love the edging you put on your page....such a beautiful garden with so many different flowers....love the tour you took me on....blessings to you dear Marion ❤
Marion, you always "make do " with what you have to hand and that is a great message to us all and one that I am trying to come to terms with. As always simple, gentle encouraging dialogue, with a delightful outcome. AND your garden is quite a treasure chest of loveliness. Grateful thanks as always.
Good afternoon Marion, thank you for another beautiful video, always enjoy seeing what you been doing , also for such encouraging words . And for showing us how to use ribbon sticking , what a beautiful garden. Have a wonderful evening, hugs Teresa x
Hi, Marion! Excellent page with new techniques for us to try. I love the ribbon work and the use of paint in the use-what-you-have spirit of things. Marion, I actually darned a pair of socks in your honor. And I have a beloved purple jacket that needs a pocket and side seam mended. Why didn’t I fix it long ago? It’s been good enough for gardening, I guess, but why not mend it? I’m good at hand-sewing. You’ve been my inspiration. Thank you, and thanks for the garden tour. Lovely.
That's so lovely Mara.. Thank you for telling me about your socks and jacket. I think it should be our badge of honour to wear something we love and have mended. I know it doesn't bother me at all if people can see a repair..
Pretty little foxglove page Marion. Great seeing your garden, even at this time of year there are so many colours and shapes, and the birds singing and the cows mooing just added to the whole scene. Lovely, thanks for sharing.
Your foxgloves are beautiful, Marion. The touch of paint adds so much depth. I enjoyed hearing the bell tinkle on your cat, too. Your garden must give you so much pleasure, I know that mine does even as I cut everything back for winter. I planted tulip bulbs yesterday and hope the chipmunks and squirrels don't find them before spring! I've been working on my Sycamore Gap page but not overjoyed with what I've done so far. The trunk is fine but the leaves need some help! Bye for now, Beth
Thank you Beth. Years ago I planted about 500 crocuses on a grassy bank in a client's garden.... Not one came up in the Spring. She said that the squirrels were digging them up within hours of me leaving!
I have just "found" your You Tube Channel Marion. I love, love, love all your videos, designs etc. Your content is brilliant and amazing and truly inspiring. Your videos are so easy to view. I keep replaying them. You make the most perfect "teacher" for us newbies. I have instantly ordered some paints for my materials. (Thank you for that tip) I am definitely going to make myself a fabric book now. Thank you for sharing your work with us. X 🤗😘
Your book is so lovely Marion. Thank you for sharing your garden with us. We had a self seeded aster this year with a small white flower that was covered in different types of bees every afternoon until it stopped flowering. It was such a lot of fun to watch the bees.
It’s been a while since I tackled ribbonwork. I always love to see it. Foxgloves are one of my favourite flowers Marion. Your book is going to be a little treasure. Tfs x
I’ve never thought of using ribbon like that. It is so effective for foxgloves especially with the addition of the inktense. Really beautiful Marion. I love your garden too.
There's always different ways of doing things Jennie. Ribbon embroidery is a whole different and beautiful craft. I just borrow techniques and use them where I like 😅🪡🧵
Thank you Marion for sharing your amazingly beautiful work and vast knowledge. I'm so happy I found your channel, so full of inspiration. I'm enjoying each one of your videos. So much to learn! Thank you!
The coloring is perfect for the foxgloves. I’ve thread embroidered since I was a little girl, I remember a red apple on a tea towel, I was maybe 7. I am much newer to ribbon embroidery. I have bought white silk that I color with alcohol pro markers. Same idea, I embroider first then color and shade the ribbon appropriately. The verses in your book really makes it special!
Oh..I've never heard of alcohol pro markers. I'll have to look them up. Thank you for that information Diana. I might just have to treat myself to some proper silk ribbon. I've had these for so many years though. And getting them so cheaply meant I could do ribbon embroidery years ago when I couldn't have afforded to buy the real thing.
I love foxgloves, There are a lot in my garden, even in the meadow. But my animals don't eat them. They are clever animals, foxgloves are poisson. You make the flowers so nice and I like the painting. It makes them more real. Color the words is also a good idea,, it brings everything together.
Love the foxgloves. Only recently tried ribbon embroidery with a kit of silk ribbons after a design in 'Stitch' magazine. My husband used to make Aronia Berry jam from the bush we planted in our last garden. I didn't like them. There's a charm to back end time of year when colours of leaves and berries and flower skeletons take over the garden I think. Every late blooming flower becomes doubly treasured.
I love foxgloves! I never seem to get it to grow properly! Ah well, I can always stitch them, thanks for the inspiration! Yours turned out beautifully!
I absolutely love the way you approach embroidery and using inktense. You are a huge inspiration. Thank you so much for sharing your process. Greetings from the Netherlands 🪡🧵
I enjoyed watching this. I haven't done any silk ribbon embroidery in 20 years, but still have a fairly good supply. You remind me of Beverley Sheldrick.
Lovely to see your garden again. I took the shears to mine over this past weekend and chopped the lot down! I'm going to do some drastic digging up of plants that are taking over before they get going again next year. The foxgloves look wonderful and I agree that the wild ones are the best. Happy stitching and best wishes as always.
Thank you. It's because I always had to make do. I always wanted to sew and craft but didn't have money for fancy stuff. Luckily it's easy to collect second hand knitting needles and people would always give me old clothes to cut up. A lifetime of doing that and I just can't bring myself to buy the expensive fancy fabric now...😊
Another pretty page Marion, love how realistic the foxgloves look using the ribbon, definitely going to try this (my list is getting longer each week), your videos inspire me to have a go at all these things. Your garden still looks so lovely
Foxglove is one of my favorite flowers! I so enjoyed this video and especially the tour of your garden. I love freestyle gardens! My Mom had so many of the flowers in your garden, so your tour brought back many wonderful memories. TFS!
Oh sweet foxglove flowers. I think your book is coming along beautifully. Thank you for the inspiration. I have been away and missed your work. So glad I came back to such a lovely page. Thank you for being such a great teacher.
Each page gets more and more beautiful! The interesting combination of silk ribbon and bits of fabric and thread and then paint adds so much to your creations! You are so inspiring and thanks again for sharing.❤
Just found your videos, love the way you use what you have. You have encouraged me to have a go at ribbon embroidery. I didn’t have the right ribbons so with your encouragement I am going to have a go with what I have got. Thanks for the video really enjoyed it. X
Hurrah.... just go for it Jenny! Although I do have quite a stash of things, I always seem to have to improvise somewhere along the line. I think that's part of the creativity and the enjoyment of making things for yourself. Welcome to my channel.... I hope you continue to enjoy watching. :)
I am absolutely loving your channel, I have found these flowers so inspiring as this is exactly what I want to do with my garden and your tutorials will be so helpful. I haven't commented on every video, but Im an avid student of Marions' World best wishes Giselle
I gotta try this technique with the ribbon. Love the way it looks. Your garden is such a little oasis. So many colors, shapes and textures. I bet it is a lot of work keeping up with it. What do you do with them in the winter? Is there much upkeep? Do they lose their leaves? It is so pretty to see you still have flowers blooming in the autumn. Thanks for another inspirational video dear Marion!❤
It is a little oasis, you're right Cris. However I haven't managed to keep on top of it like I used to. It all needs a good clear up in the next few weeks. I don't cut everything back as I like to leave plenty for all the little creatures that might need a home over the winter.

If not, maybe you will do one of your video lessons on these flowers. I’m lucky enough to have foxgloves in my garden that I dint plant or have anywhere near me in these city suburbs. My little shrub doesn't get enough berries to do anything with. I've eaten the odd one or two but they didn't taste of much to me like that.
