Hi Sarah! 👋 I was eye 👁 👀 following you stitch the sunflower 🌻 and just as you were about to stitch a detached chain stitch, in my head I was like; "nooo Sarah, it's a single stitch. Then you quickly realized it and switched back. 2 days later..... As I was stitching the same Sunflower 😂 in the back pocket of one of my jeans 👖, I kept doing the same thing. Lol 😆 🤣 😂 I started with straight stitches then forgot a few times and actually stitched the lazy daisy stitch (detached chain). After all I realized it's an eye/brain trick because the sunflower petals are triangular (I'm guessing). Anyway, just a true a tried story so you know you're not alone (even though you're light years ahead of me in embroidery) I love your tutorials! ❤ ❤ ❤
As I approach 67 yrs old, after 14 years of bead weaving, having taught myself via UA-cam, I'm excited to incorporate bead embroidery and regular embroidery into my jewelry creations. This is the first of your videos that I've watched. I'm so glad I did, because it totally demystified for me how so many textures are created with just thread and a needle. I've saved the pdf for this video and nearly all of your other pdf's (not everything would be something I'll use.) I'm really anxious to get started on some projects. Before discovering you, your channel, etc., I ordered a few kits from Etsy and Amazon, as well as some tutorials from Etsy. I also have needles and fabric on order. I rec'd a lot of floss with the stand I just rec'd. (I don't live where I can jump in my car and go pick up anything that I need for this craft.) I'm going to start following you on Facebook. Your projects are all so beautiful and inspiring. Thank you so much for this terrific tutorial!
Hello Sarah. Thank you for showing how some really beautiful flowers can be created using relatively few stitches. All of these stitches are achievable for those of us new to embroidery - and will, undoubtedly produce fantastic results. So, I also thank you for something that really encourages people to have a go, without feeling intimidated.
I love the flowers BUT I ENJOY listening to YOU! Yes the music was calming but I can hear music anywhere. The reason I LOVE watching you is because You make it personal. Thank you for all the free pattern which I do take advantage of. Looking forward to your nest posting.
Oh I missed seeing your lovely smile and hearing your voice through the video. It is a great "How to" video but I watch your videos for you, not just the stitching. I hope this is just a one off style trial and that next time we can see more of you again.
Love the way you started with a knot on the face anchored some stitches and then later cut that knot off. I will use that from now on I just love that method. Thank you so much. ❤❤
Thanks so much Sarah! I loved everything about your meditative 🥰embroidery of 10 flowers!! I learned some new technical details of some stitches that I’ve been doing for 4 years. I appreciate the up close-up view of your stitching, throughout. Will be adding your PDF to my collection of motifs. You’re so very humble and generous - and creative- which is why you are attracting many. How was doing that video for you?
Thank you Karen! It was a lot of stitching, but it meant I could just sit and stitch and Jonathan could go and do something more useful and only took three days to make and not 5!
This took me back to my youth. Thank you. I have been wanting to do embroidery again and it was so much fun to watch you creating these lovely blooms. I made a small foray into a knitted item for my godsister and I told my husband to not laugh at me because it has been so very long and I am out of practice with scale etc. I am now 65. Thank you so much. Watching the Thistle being created is the most fun 😁 And yes, I enjoyed Ginger Cat too
I watch *a lot* of Korean ladies do embroidery and usually this is the kind of thing I’ll watch from them but it’s really nice to see this from you in recent times (I went down a rabbit hole and found myself watching a lot of your videos from 8 years ago)! Thank you 🥰
Your tutorials have been a great help to me as I try and learn different types of embroidery to be able to finish some works of my dear friend who passed away in January. She was RSN trained, and won many awards at the WI. She taught me some of the basics of cross stitch, blackwork and a little hardanger, but the uncompleted works are in crewel and stumpwork. Thank you for your wonderful videos, they are of great value. John
I just wanted to say thank you so much for this video. I recently decided to try to learn embroidery to mend and decorate some of my favorite clothes. I was struggling to get the different textures I was seeing on the pictures I was trying to copy. This video covered all the different ways to lay thread and get the finishes right! I very much appreciated having them all in one video so I could just skip to whichever section I needed at any given point! I just finished a pair of pants and a skirt and they look even better than I'd hoped for ❤️
I love watching your videos! I started watching because you’re a brilliant teacher and my embroidery improves every time I implement some of your advice. But I sometimes just put on your videos to wind down in the evening because your voice is so pleasant. I hope you know how much light you put out into the world and I hope it comes back to you tenfold!
What a lovely selection of flowers!, the Tulip is just a perfect Tulip, and as for the Thistle, just amazing, I would never, ever have thought of doing that and it looks so perfect. Superb as ever Sarah, thank you
Thank you,Sarah. You are a gentle lady & your embroidery is oh,so exquisite ! 🎉 Thank you for sharing your artistic talent with us .Your Ginger is an adorable pet❤
This was a wonderful video! It was great that you demonstrated 10 different flowers. I’m sure I’ll come back to refer to it in the future , as well. I hope you don’t mind my saying, that I prefer hearing your voice giving further instructions rather than listening to the music. Thanks you so much for the lovely demonstration. 😃❤️
Gingers are 100% the BEST. I recently lost my ginger boy, and your wee one (who isn't so wee) is just the medicine I need! Also, that is such a clear, helpful, and easy-to-follow tutorial. I really appreciate it! I'm currently trying to master lily of the valley and mums.
I watched and saved this video last year. I'm finally getting around to doing this for my hand-bound book that I'm making. Thank you for the free PDF to get the crisp designs on my fabric.
Thank you Sarah. Your video was very informative and encouraging. I've seen a few embroidery journals and wanted to give it a try but I had no idea of what to do and I'm also a complete novice. After watching this I thought I'd just do a flower a month and whether they're good or not, I'll view it as a learning curve. Thank you so much.
Dear Sarah and Jonathan, I just came back from a trip to Quebec (I live on Prince Edward Island) and drove 2700 km. You have no idea how much I appreciate your soothing video and peaceful music. I am exhausted , disappointed and stressed our, will never go back there again (lol). Thank you so much for being there. Ginette (Ginny)
Hello Sarah,Thank you, I'm following you from Emanuel County GA USA. The new format is lovely🪡. Nice music selection. You and Mr. Homfrey are very talented. P.S. after I watched it all I realized, I missed your voice. I don't have any real friends so to speak. I'm 70 and enjoy hearing a lady talk without all the severe language. You are a darling person.
This video is very calm and after thinking about starting stitching, I think I might buy a set and just try the flowers… just practice and practice and practice.. A little while after I was born someone gave my parents a stitching for me, with my name and loads of Miffy’s on it (in theme with the bedroom I had as a baby/toddler) I now still have that stitching in my room.
This is a great help with things i never knew. And i see you use more than one strand as well. I have seen some stunningly beautiful cross stitch using one strand, that my daughter-in-law creates. I like how you buried the yarn in back of the work, i never learned to do that. Loved the flowers, every one. Live and learn. heel erg blij mee geweest, ik heb ze allemaal gemaakt als proeflapje. Ik wist niet dat ik dit geleerd kon krijgen, maar zo een geweldige uitleg met beelt fantastich😍❤
Hello…! I want to thank you for sharing with us all your amazing art that you make. I’m in love with all you do. God bless you and I hope I can continue learning from you!! ❤❤❤ 🙏🏽🙏🏽

I am not a very adept stitcher, and find Sarah's videos so clear and detailed. She makes everything look so doable; they are real confidence boosters. Hope you have fun - happy stitching! 😀
These are so pretty and thank you for the free pattern. We gave our 12 year old granddaughter a sewing box full of good scissors and other sewing accessories 🎉and some beginner embroidery kits for Christmas last year, she loves to sew doll clothes on her little sewing machine and this year we are giving her something bigger and better for Christmas, I can’t wait!!! Anyway, she has been doing some stitching and I’m going to send her your UA-cam channel info because you are so easy to follow and this video will be very easy for her to learn from. She lives in Florida and we are in northern Illinois so I’m not able to help her. I love to see your cat 😂just being a cat, I usually have at least one or two of our five on my lap when I’m sitting. Love your videos, I always learn something.
Oh, I love that your are fostering a love of stitching (of all sorts) in your granddaughter, even from such a distance. I do hope that she'll join us here, and perhaps share some of her work with us? It would be a joy to see her in next year's World Embroidery Day video. Nothing like sharing and receiving accolades on the work we've done to further our enthusiasm and afford motivation to keep on stitching, regardless of our age! 💖
I used to adore crafts as a teenager. Sewing, knitting, crochet, all of it. I am so grateful to my Nana for passing it down, from her to my Mother to myself. So I am very sure your granddaughter is so grateful to you. Anyway, from a grown up granddaughter to a grandmother, thank you and God bless you!
Thank you Sarah for this very enjoyable video. I don't know how to use pdf so I think I will try to draw some flowers and see how they turn out. This is my favourite kind of video because I love being able to try my hand and have a go with things. I love ginger cat ❤. God bless. Love vera in Northern Ireland
I just love Ginger cat so beautiful! Thank you for making this post and PDF pattern for these beautiful flowers very easy to follow. It’s so comprehensive with the amount of threads needed and needle size. I have been embroidering for many years all self taught, I usually only use 4/5 stitches so this has been super helpful.
G I n g e r C a t ❕ I adore & love your offerings. Thank You SO much! Starting my niece’s lost piece, ‘Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep’, I hand embroidered for her & her little baby brother [back in the day, circa 1986] {unfortunately she revealed her momma tossed it out} … So at her request I plan to give it another whirl some nearly 40 years later. Yikes! Wish me luck! Sure wish I had such a fine fuzzy friend as Ginger Cat to snuggle while I work! Cheers! 💌💨
I knew you were going to be my favorite as soon as i saw ginger kitty stretched out across the floss! 🤣 Thank you for the beautiful video and free pattern. I am going to wear my needles out doing these beautiful flowers you so wonderfully demonstrated! Cheers from texas!
Thank you Sarah, very nice video. You made me discover the waste knot in this video, very nice! I’ll never have a knot behind my fabric again, so much tidier. I’ve made a small reaserch about it and you are the only one I’ve found not doing it away from the line and with the two small stab stitches. I’d be interested in a video on waste knots if you are keen 😊 Thank you again!
Thanks so much. I learned so much. I think you need three hand to do the thistle. The grape hyacinth is my favorite. It looked like it was doing a little jig while you couched the stem!
I just found your channel and watched three of your vlogs. Very informative. Thank you for explaining so well. I appreciate the detailed camera angle and the captions showing the stitch, needle size and number of threads. Also enjoy the background music.
Thank you Sarah for this enchanting and relaxing video! Life threw me a curveball and this was very calming for me. Thanks and blessings to you and your little helper!
Thank you Sarah as always or your instructional video and the PDF. I had a quick glance through and will enjoy having a stitch along with you one I have drawn them all out on my fabric. I shall enjoy losing myself in these lovely flowers, as a lone stitcher it is so nice to feel that I am in company when I stitch. I am so glad Ginger cat was present and ready for action. I hope he has extra treats for being so well behaved.
It is very soothing just to watch you embroider these lovely flowers! I guess I’m going to have to try it to see if it is just as soothing to do it myself!😊
You inspired me to take to needle and thread after ages. Thank you for explaining everything so well and all other information. Love the participation of your ginger cat.
I have just become a member! After watching numerous videos, I decided that it is worth the $2.99 a month to join! My gosh the cost is less than the price of a lunch!
Great new format. Coming to London next week, so excited I can’t stand it. Eight days of adventures and exploration. TLW. Very peaceful video, love this type of video.
Ooooh! I hope you have a great trip. I was supposed to go to London and Paris with one of my nieces last summer, but an illness caused an expensive last-minute cancellation. Fingers crossed that you have safe travels and a wonderful time! 🤞
Hello! It looks as though your comment was cut off. Hope you enjoyed this video and found some flowers that you'd like to try. Happy stitching! @@sunandadasgupta3824
Love love love this video and Ginger Cat looks sooooo comfy !!!! and thank you so much for the free PDF for the designs and all of the tips on stitches, threads and needles to use. You are so very generous..........
My cat wants to be the center of attention too. When they roll on their backs like yours did, they are asking for a tummy rub. Lovely animals. And thank you so much for making this video. I love embriodary.
I’m in love with your kitty 🐱, precious ❤ I am so impressed ABD inspired!! I’ve never seen such an easy way to learn embroidery 😮 🧵 🪡. Thank you 😄. I’m sick today so I’m bing watching you all day 😂🌹💕
❤❤❤ your videos. They’re beautiful and so easy to follow. I’m getting materials together to learn this beautiful craft. Thank you for such easy to follow examples.
Love you for showing all flowers!
I love it when the kitty or pup joins in. I've got my furbaby right here, you have yours right there: We're ready to go.
Thanks!
Ginger Cat just brings such a smile to my face. My Grey kitty is currently doing the exact same thing right now.
stop it you are so lovely and your cat is so cute and you just made the internet so much better by positing this
I have been stitching for 58 years and still enjoyed your video! Love it immensely. It brought a SMILE to my face.

Loved the roses using the variegated thread. I see you have a real knack of not pulling too tight, allowing texture to appear. Lovely!
So calming and relaxing and so beautiful! My Mother used to embroider beautiful flowers. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for such a relaxing video. I especially appreciate how you teach. You give very clear instructions and show what you’re doing in print.
I have just become a member! After watching numerous videos, I decided that it is worth the $2.99 a month to join! My gosh the cost is less than the price of a lunch!

Thank-you for teaching me a new tulip stitch, I've been embroidering for years but had never seen that one before. 😊
Loved the way the thistle was sewn. I prefer to here your commentry through the stitching...
Am a beginner so this was wonderful to watch. Love your ginger helper 💕🐈

My cat wants to be the center of attention too. When they roll on their backs like yours did, they are asking for a tummy rub. Lovely animals.
And thank you so much for making this video. I love embriodary.
I really like the idea of stab stitches. I'd heard of it but didn't know how/why! Starting your knot on the top side makes perfect sense. 😊
