Your book is lovely and beautiful. I love your approach to problem-solving when something doesn't work. Your videos are full of pearls of wisdom for stitching and for life. Thanks Marion!!
So beautiful Marion!! I love your stick-to-it-iveness! (That’s my way of making a word to fit my needs as you do in your making!) I remember many times of needing to get creative when various projects didn’t go as I originally planned but I think that stretches us and helps us to learn and be confident that we can succeed! Thank you for sharing (and helping us learn) all of your lovely, colorful, amazing creativity!! 💕Donna
That's it exactly Donna. Things that turn out not quite as expected make us have to flex our mental muscle and see what we can do. As always I keep in mind...no mistakes, only opportunities for doing something different and learning at the same time!
I just feel that there's always something that can be done. It's just changing your mindset a little so you don't see a mistake as the end of some vision you had in your head of something perfect that is now ruined. Look at those times as an opportunity instead.
Love how you finished your book, amending the spine worked so well, a lesson to us all never give up think of another way just like Marion, your channel is so inspiring. Thank you for sharing ❤❤❤❤
The book is adorable Marion. Thank you for not editing out the challenging bits, as we all have them and it is lovely to see you never give up and always find a solution
I think it's important to show that whether you're new to something or experienced, we all have things that go wrong sometimes. It's how we deal with it that's important... New possibilities arrive and can be taken ☺️🧵🪡
What a lovely journey we have been on watching your little flower book take shape. I have been inspired with every page and love the finished item. Thank you so much Marion for sharing your knowledge, I will miss watching you create beautiful flowers but I am sure you will have something equally inspiring and creative to show us
I'm sure that won't quite be the end of the flowers.... I do have a lifesize honeysuckle to create at some point! And in the meantime the birds are still ongoing.
Hi Marian I love the book. It’s very interesting and beautiful . Your writing is amazing, the Lord has really blessed you how wonderful he is, take care love your channel. By for now Linda from Ohio. 😊❤❤.
Thanks Maureen. It's either cry over the spilt milk.... Or move forward and mop it up 😂 In this case the only thing I could think of was to cut the whole thing in half!
Fabulous book Marion, I've really enjoyed watching you work your way through it and I look forward to seeing more from you soon. I'm soo behind on my flower book but I will get through it. I've done 3 pages but I keep getting distracted with other sewing projects! See you again soon, Helen
This is an amazing book and all the teaching Wes great , every page of flowers is so well done and you have a great way of working everything out , thanks again.🌟
Such a wonderful wee book Marion! The spine turned out so pretty, even prettier than the original. The clasp was another lovely addition. Now you need to make volume 2,3, ……. 100 of flower books. I enjoyed seeing you work on every page and learned something new each time. Your videos are such an inspiration and brings me so much joy to hear you teaching. ❤❤❤
Absolutely love your Flower Garden book ❤ Every page is a beautiful journey of your creativity ❤ the way you expanded the spine of your book is amazing!!! Your embroidery on the spine plus the bookmark and the beautiful clasp just brings the whole book all together to a wonderful completion of your creative talents ❤ Thank you again and blessings to you dear Marion ❤❤
You're initials or signature! 🎉 🎉🎉 Thank you for sharing the progress on this charming book! I love how serendipitous the fixes are! Just perfect! An heirloom for sure!
What a lovely project!! I'm thankful you didn't settle for the original spine, but modified your plan and came up with something that made you happy. It's absolutely amazing! Thank you for your patient teaching style. I'm so inspired by what you've been showing us. Looking forward to seeing more beautiful projects. Happy stitching ❤
Thank you. I have to admit that sometimes it doesn't work out and I'm back to the drawing board....but that's rare. There's nearly always something you can do to put things right 🤞😊
Isn’t it amazing how our art and creativity takes on a life of its own! All the happy accidents leads us down a path of shear beauty!! I love your book of garden flowers! Being in my garden is one of my happiest places to be! Thank you for sharing! P.S. I’ve never seen a saddlery needle! So I went to investigate!! Thank you!!❤️
Thank you. I'm pleased you've enjoyed coming along with me and my little book. I think the needle came from my Mam's stash of old stuff. It's always useful for poking holes in things 😅
You can be very proud with the book. It is amazing. You collect and save everything, and I think it is so funny, because I do the same. Lots of little jars, boxes filled with beads, buttons, threads, you name it, I have it. I always say it is my shop, I don't need to go to a real shop. And I can start with something new, without buying all the stuff first. Curious what you make next week.
What a wonderful treasure you have in your flower book! I enjoyed how you remedied your 'mistakes' ....you are so positive and creative in what you do! 😊
Thank you Barbara. I'm sure there are lots of you out there that stitch just as beautifully, if not more so! I just happen to have decided to share it online....
Your creativity is so inspiring. Your approach to your art is no nonsense and playful at the same time. I’ve learned a whole new way to look at redoing something that I’m not pleased with. Once again, thank you 🥰
Congratulations on finishing your flower book, Marion. It has been entertaining and quite a learning experience to watch each step of the way. I've learned a lot from you and really appreciate all your recordings. I'm sure you could make a dozen more flower books!
I cant think of a better way to relax and destress. My Nanna gave me a shoe box of scraps of fabric etc when l was 4yrs old. Im now 70 and still enchanted by fabric and thread . Thank you for sharing.
Just amazing ... both the finished flower book and your talent. Really liked the finished touches and the clasp is a lovely addition. Can't wait to see what's next.
I can't believe you have finished the flower book already! That was a really interesting construction method you used to fix the book sitting correctly. I like the idea of stitching the pages to an inner spine, then stitching the edges of that spine to the outer cover. And the extra touches like the bee bookmark and the clasp - gorgeous! 😊
Sometimes when I can't sleep in the night I get up and crochet a bit. I like to turn on your videos or another lady who stitches and your voices and quiet manner calm me and I go back to sleep. Don't take that the wrong way!! It is a compliment.
Good afternoon Marion, I so enjoyed being on your journey with the beautiful flower book. Thank you for sharing your encouraging knowledge, have a good weekend. Big hugs Teresa xx
I am glad I got to see the finished flower book. That latch was just perfect for your little book. I think that would make a wonderful coffee table book. Great job on all the pages. Such a lovely display of each flower. And all the designs work well together. The spine looks better than the beginning one too. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Michelle. It really does look lovely now that it's finished. I'd forgotten I had those little hooks. I was just scratting about through stuff looking for goodness knows what when I found them. My sister tells me that they are vintage shawl clasps.
I can't imagine not having a stash! Mine has accumulated over many years of making. It managed to expand when we moved here and I was lucky enough to get my sewing room.
I’ve just found you!!!!! A bit of ‘binge watching ‘ coming up. FYI …. I’ve got quite a few of those big needles and I can tell you what they were used for in our house. Then the wool was cut to about 4 inches and pushed up and over itself. Another row followed, tightly beneath and you were started. I've really enjoyed watching you put this lovely flower book creation together. Very inspiring. What is wonder bond and where can it be purchased in the UK please?
It's called Bondaweb in the UK. It's a fusible web used for applique or for putting up hems without sewing. It's a double sided glue sheet. Oh Marion! You are so clever to figure out how to make your spine work…and so brave to cut it in half! Well, it worked out just fine and is a beautiful volume of handwork❤ What is the title of your hardback flower book that you use for inspiration? Thanks for all you share with us!

You're most welcome Bridget. 💐 I think it all goes back to the Blue Peter days of a loo roll and some newspaper and..what can I make with that?😅
Marion, your book is Lovely!!! Lovely!!! Oh, you are So Talented!!! What a Treasure! ❤💐🐝📚❤

Project to be really proud of.
I am thank you ☺️💐
I could watch you all day!
☺️
I think the reworked spine just adds to the charm of your handmade book.
It looks intentional and the effect is so cute. Beautiful project.
Thanks Wendy. Yes I think it's not obvious that I cut it in half!😅
Hi Marian I love the book. It’s very interesting and beautiful . Your writing is amazing, the Lord has really blessed you how wonderful he is, take care love your channel. By for now Linda from Ohio. 😊❤❤.

Necessity is the mother of invention. You invented a new way to increase the spine of your book. Brilliant, Maureen!!!!

You are so clever Marion, I love seeing all your "stash", I don't hang on to things, then sometimes I wish I had.

Thank you 😊
You are amazing x
Beautiful creative work!
I’ve just found you!!!!! A bit of ‘binge watching ‘ coming up. FYI …. I’ve got quite a few of those big needles and I can tell you what they were used for in our house. My father, ex RN man, used to make floor rugs. Several lengths of wool went through the eyes of the needle and long rows were looped into repaired hessian sacks. Then the wool was cut to about 4 inches and pushed up and over itself. Another row followed, tightly beneath and you were started. Dad made many, many of our household rugs and I remember the times when they had enough money to actually buy the wool for a design he had created himself. Happy memories. Love your book….. I remember bluebell and campion woods in Devon as I lived there from 9-12yrs. So, it’s hello from a sunny Belfast ….. looking forward to getting your channel
Well firstly... welcome to my channel Christine. I'm glad you found me ☺️
So interesting about the big needle... I'm going to do some internet research about it now! I can tell you it's a very useful tool for poking holes in things😅
Your book has turned out really beautifully. Happy stitching 🤗

What a beautiful book. I am sad that you are finished with it since I love watching you. At least we have the bird book to look forward to.

Love your little book!
Thanks Bobbi
Fabulous work ❤
Oh, I forgot to say that I believe your clasp may be off a vest wore with a dirndal skirt, like at October fest. Or I have seen sweaters with that type of clasp for a closure.
It’s genius to use them for a book clasp! So much easier than tying a ribbon each time you open it. Cheers!
Oh.. I didn't know what they'd been from. I have another 2 pairs of them. I thought they'd maybe been from a nurses uniform or something...
You are a real artist. Your journal is awesome. Greetings from New Zealand
☺️💐
Maybe a hint for long usage: some kind of cover to keep your embroidered from getting oils from your skin on your stitching. A very lightweight fabric that is shiny - gossamer- ey. Just a thought.
Do you mean to keep it in...or to cover whilst working?🤔
The book is amazing!!!!!! So beautiful .definitely inspires me and makes me want you make one , may be one day. P,ease continue crafting you are so creative .I am always anxiously awaiting your videos. I can never get enough!!! Also anxiously waiting for your bags?? To purchase
Thanks Linda. I should have had the sample one already but I'm still waiting...
Those look like the clasps on Norwegian sweaters.
Yes they do. But I don't think that's actually what they are. I think from an old nurses cape possibly....
💝👏
I've really enjoyed watching you put this lovely flower book creation together. Very inspiring.

Well, it worked out just fine and is a beautiful volume of handwork❤
What is the title of your hardback flower book that you use for inspiration? Thanks for all you share with us!
It's the Reader's Digest Field Guide to the Wild Flowers of Britain. There are ones for butterflies and birds too..
Thanks so much for this info! Keep stitching and inspiring us!
Your little fl😮wer book is fantastic is there any end to your talent 💜
Aren’t you clever! Yes, I cringed when you cut the cover…but wow…what beauty from “ashes!” Better than the original!
😅 I knew some people would be horrified.... But it all worked out fine in the end..
