Wednesdays and Sundays are the best days of the week now because it means we get to watch another one of your fabulous videos. This little wren is adorable, you made stitching him look so easy. Another inspirational video, thanks for sharing Marion
This is my favourite of all your birds. There was a wren making a nest in the dryer vent at my old house. My late husband cleaned it out, covered it and made a wren house mounted next to the vent. A little wren nested there for years, had her broods which we were able to watch fledge and entertained us with her beautiful song. Thank you.
I love the way you use different materials and threads to create lovely flowers and birds. The wren is so cute, as are all your creations. Great slow stitching video for a beginner like me.
Thanks for your message Wendy. My best advice is just to jump right in, pick up a needle and start something, anything, you'll be amazed at what you can achieve...🤞💐🧵🪡
Wrens are a favorite of mine so I loved this video. He turned out so adorable. I cross stitched a tiny wren for my mom years ago as it was a favorite of hers too. She passed on Christmas Eve 2023 so I now have the framed wren that I stitched. I look at it often and think of her and how much she loved it. I miss her so much. Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful needlework, and I love hearing you just chat while you are working on your artwork. Such a stress reliever to me.
Yet again another stunning stitched portrait of a bird! I don't know how you manage to conjure up such wonderful pictures from scraps, I certainly couldn't do such a lovely job. You are absolutely amazing. I love your channel, whatever you do, and I usually watch them whilst having breakfast. Glad to see you are over the cold. Sending love and best wishes.
This is absolutely AMAZING!!! The little wren is soooo sweet!!! I'm loving this adventure with you 💕 there just aren't enough adjectives to describe how I feel about each bird page that you create...the wren, the lichen, the moss, the leaves, the bramble branch, the blackberry....ohhh I could go on and on....the page fabric also is something that I never would have thought of to use....you are so talented!!!! And then, that little frog 🐸 is soooo cute!!!! Thank you so much for sharing your talents with me and for brightening my day ❤ blessings to you dear Marion ❤
Hurrah to starting a project 😊 I honestly thought it was going to be more difficult to stitch the lichen than it really was.... I surprised myself really!
Brilliant!! Less than 10 days from seeing lichen on your trip to stitching it!!! Well done! I stitched a wren while you were away- mine is not nearly as lively- but as you say - no going back or tearing out- move on! Can’t wait to try lichen - you continue to inspire- I’m grateful!
Lovely. I have a little wren in my garden , small but LOUD!!!! I always hear him/her and I go out onto my patio where we have a chit chat together. Yes, this was a very lovely project. Thankyou.
Awww the moss looks amazing. I also love moss very much, I love the way they look with many variations of green, their soft feel touch, the way they harmoniously embrace their surroundings. Of course I also enjoyed seeing you complete the chubby wee bird. The sound of the needle and the thread going through the fabric is so calming and therapeutic. Thanks for another amazing project Marion ❤
Good afternoon Marion, i say what so many people are saying so beautifully, and you are amazing. I would never be able to bring it to life like you do , i so enjoy your video's, thank you for sharing. Sending love and hugs Teresa xxx
Thank you again Teresa. I hope I am encouraging everyone to have a try. I don't want people to think they can't achieve things because it really isn't that difficult when you just take things in stages. Thank you so much for your support each time I get another video out.... I really appreciate it 😊💐
Another artistic treasure!! Thank you. I also like the lichen and moss - such a great selection of fabric, yarn and stitching to make it look very nice. BTW I also like the fabric on your dress - it is very pretty.
Thanks Linda. Actually the dress was a practice pattern for a red linen dress I wanted to make. I got a second hand linen dress to take apart and practice with and the black one was the result! I was so short on the fabric that one of the sleeves is actually all the small pieces patched together 😂 It ended up being a favourite dress! I went on to make the red one by hand so it all worked out well.
Your little wren looks so beautiful! Simple but such lovely ideas your embroidery looks amazing! Little frog is so cute too! Looking foward to seeing your Mushroom Sculpture too. Thank You for sharing.
He is so lifelike just like the little one in my garden today as I tidy up for winter. You make it look so simple, I love spending a quiet half hour watching you work as I sit here knitting. I do hope next year you will show more videos of your wonderful garden as we only get glimpses of it. Blessings Marion x💕
Thanks for watching Lina. It is simple really... I like to think of you knitting whilst watching the sewing 🧵🪡 Also you must have been sending me vibes as I included a garden update in tonight's video 😊
That was fantastic watching you create your beautiful wren picture. I love seeing how simple you explain how to stitch your works of art, so inspiring. Your frog is so sweet too.
Oh, Marion, your wren is perfect because he/she reminds me of sunny days. The lichen and moss are very cool. I like how your brain works to make art for us in an imaginative, frugal way. Nowadays, I think before buying stuff. I already have lots of stuff, and I had the fun of collecting it. You’ve been a very good influence on me. 💜💜💜
That's good Mara. I too enjoyed all the collecting ☺️ I still get things if I happen upon them second hand. There days it's the old linens I find hard to resist. Otherwise I've always had to find a way around not having the latest stuff. I think it made me be inventive...🪡🧵
What a delightful wren, your embroidery skills are amazing! Love the knitted frog, like you that cute frog pops up on my instagram in many guises! I so enjoy your podcasts. 😊
I love your sweet wren & moss & lichen so very much !!! I often stitch while I watch you & also look for other uses for fabrics, threads, & old garments ! You are a joy & I too, look forward to ‘spending time with you’, via-your videos !!! Love your frog…so cute ! He will be a sweet Christmas gift!!!!!💙🪡🧵
Thank you 💐 The dress was made from a second hand sleeveless, full length one that I took apart. The linen is so soft it was worthwhile even though one of the sleeves is patched from all the little pieces to get enough fabric.
yesterday I saw the wren on Instagram, and I just give it a ❤because I know i see the video today. You made this little bird so well. I have every year a couple making their nest in my carport. I only see 1 time the small birds when they are big enough to fly. They are so small and they disappear in a short time. I cannot find them anymore, but the next year lives a new couple here. Clever idea to use the special yarn for the moss. It looks like french knots, but so much easyer to make. The frog is lovely. See you next time.
Last year I had a wren nesting on the place my washing line attached in the yard... I didn't dare touch the line till the babies fledged. They weren't back there this year though...
Your video popped up on my feed and what a delight to watch you bring the little wren and moss covered branch to life . Now off to binge watch your videos. And a new subscriber I have become. Thank you for taking us on your journey 😊❤
Lovely, lovely, lovely! Another beautiful piece of art work. I have wrens in the garden and one day I heard a lot of meepng sounds. Looked out of my kitchen window to see a mother wren bouncing along the top of the fence being followed by four noisy Pom poms with tiny beaks! I keep seeing the little frog too but I didn’t know there was a pattern available. Looking forward to the next one Marion.
A wren is special to us and yours looks good as does the moss and lichen. I've got strands of boucle-type wool like that in old Texere Yarns packs which I bought years ago in various colours and still have some left. Pleased your cold is going and Scotland had such a positive effect😊
Ooooh!! I just love your little wren. Those stitches make perfect texture and dimension. Right now, I'm sewing up some little stitcheries for Chinese New Years. Some hanging lanterns and some various motifs. I thought I would do a dragon seeing as it's the lunar year of the wood dragon, but I'm not that ambitious . Ha!! Cheers from sunny FL, USA

Welcome to my channel Suzanne. It hasn't really been going that long. I've been crafting away all my life and just a few months ago started to share it....

Love this one also, am getting my thinking thoughts to want to try these birds you have done. Of course, I don't have all the materials that you have, but will give it a try.
I am so pleased to find your channel. Your work is amazing. I myself are embroidering a tree but l am not as good as you. I think l will try and put a small bird on one of the branches. Love watching how you ❤ work
Thank you for your message Sandra. Everyone does different things and as long as you enjoy what you're doing you don't need to compare yourself to anyone else! I'm 64 and have been sewing and knitting since I was about 6 or 7.... That's a heck of a lot of practice I've managed to get in 🤣
The stitching is so beautiful. It is obvious that you have been stitching and appliqueing for years, and this is not your first bird. You have managed to create depth and interest with scraps and the background. I am going to try a page, it will be a beginner not an expert.😂

Your frog needs something to sit on! A lily pad, a moss covered rock? Love watching you create, you are so talented!
He needs clothes first! 🤔 There should be more hours in the day to get it all done!😊

Absolutely exquisite, love the moss where can we get some???
I bought it at a wool show this spring. I think if you look for bouclé embroidery wool you should find it somewhere. Good luck.
How many threads do you use .
It really depends.. On this I mainly used crewel wool which is a 2 ply embroidery wool. With stranded I usually use 2 strands and go down to just one strand when I want a finer look. I have birds in this series which were only stitched with one strand of cotton and silk.
