Andy Gray | My Life At Everton
Great Everton player. He will always be loved by Evertonians.
Everton in the mid-eighties, something that hardly gets a mention and I'm so grateful to have experienced those amazing years as a young lad..........by the way, the Rapid Vienna performance, biased as it may sound, was the greatest British European performance in terms of shear domination, class, style, grit, athleticism and panache ever - We need those times back sooner rather than later..!
Brilliant player, I hated the day he left us 🙂
I cannot stress enough how vital/important this guy was to Everton he hated losing,a winner, when he was injured for villa in the league cup final in 77 we were convinced the cup was ours, wrong, more than any other signing in the future I would love an Andy Gray type of player at Everton again alas his type is long gone unfortunately what we are stuck with now are a load of puffs who don't like physical contact without screaming yes screaming like pubescent young girls it is really embarrassing watching some of these so called players now days.Andy we fans of that era were so lucky to watch you guys play proper footie with a nice few trophies on top, many many thanks mate in my humble opinion Southall Reid and you turned that squad around into winners again thank you and good luck. P.S. I still think of that shot of yours flashing past United's post cup final 85,if that goes in I really believed that treble was ours, footie gods eh.
Spot on Tony !!
Loved him to bits, and you finally cleared up a few things about what happened with him and Everton back then... Great interview!
Andy, Peter Reid & Sharpy.
My favourite players of all time 🥰
Absolute credit u r to the blue Jersey bazz . These interviews r amazing no media bull shite proper to the bone blue on blue interviews as we as evertonions want to hear . Brilliant! Brilliant !! Get reidy on !!!
Lads been watching since the early days . It’s fantastic to see you grow and grow. I know when we get that new stadium the success will come and your hard work will be rewarded like it should be. With the extra eyeballs. Great to see you have legends on.
Thanks mate, much appreciated :)
Brillant interview lads well done ,really enjoyed that, one of my favourite players
Missus caught in the UK - lucky b’stard
Andy grey was totally fearless. Linekar was great for us but I always felt that extra bit of fear other teams had of us, diminished a bit went Andy grey left 😔.. For years , i always was really dissapointed, n thought Andy was disrespecful, cos he never mentioned his playing days at Everton. I couldn't have been more wrong. I didnt realise his heart was broken...I couldnt believe it when they let him go. As i kid i actually 😥. Thanks for the memories Andy. Uou were part of what i think , is THE best Everton team and possibly THE best British team ever. 👌. That Man u game in cup final for me is THE most painful of the lot. ALL our players were fantastic, but il mentioned Ratz who I think may be THE most under recognised defender ever in English football. On his day, flawless. GR8 pace to.
Well done Baz and Andy. Excellent, as all of these interviews have been. Top drawer.
well done #toffeetv - for actually intervewing nearly every one of that legendary era.....hopefully more to come - maybe 86/87 stars - mimms/lineker/wilkinson? stay safe
Yes lads! So happy to see this video in my sub box!
Even though you got a grip of your mates bird.
As a player, you were great for us.
Andy: no football and no golf, what is there to do...
Me: you play the piano lad!
Brilliant interview, really enjoyed it 👍
Thanks for that Baz absolute quality!
Cheers Paul :)
Thanks Baz really enjoyed that,
Loving these shows... amazing to get these former players on... big ask and one I would love is Tim Cahill to me Mr Everton 🙂
Good stuff...
He had to be seen live to be fully appreciated. You new he wouldn't allow the team to be beaten
Great interview - really interesting hearing how the management side played out. I was convinced he was coming back in '97. Think he would have made a brilliant gaffer despite all the nonsense going on in the boardroom!
Andy they should never have let you go,you would have still played enough games,I always thought you were more important than Sharp a good player but not at your level, they should have kept you just for your experience/vibe in the changing room!que sera eh mate.
Don't forget though mate Sharp also left it all on the pitch every game he played and was brilliant in the air and a nightmare for defenders. As well as the fact he scored some huge goals Sharp apart from the greatest ever derby goal he always scored in the biggest games and is our post war goal scoring record holder only Dean scored more. I loved Andy for us back then but Sharp is my all time favourite player who was a present right through our greatest ever decade.
A really good players for us Jason but his record in all the 7 cup finals was just 1 goal against watford in my opinion he never did it against the big teams, look at his goalscoring record against the redshite it is not good reading mate beside that fantastic goal he scored at Anfield he didn't notch too many more plus l will never forget the sitter he missed against forest at the end of the game which basically would have won us the league despite the oxford debacle.l still think he was a good player for us but not an iconic one like gray/reid/southall who's grit and determination dragged us to those finals.
Baz how do you remember all these dates and goals from the 80s? Lol. Every interview 😃
Seems like yesterday but its 35 years ago!
Best wishes to you Andy, your getting to good at these interviews Baz who needs Michael Parkinson 👍
Hahaha thanks Billy :)
💙💙💙💙💙
there's only 2 andy gray's!!!
You go fishin!!!
Andy Gray summed up why the club went to the sh#t pile in the 90s.
Since Andy hung up his boots has any Everton player come close?
No.
Is effort was great commited to the cause,I was a teen in 80s so I seen hi in the flesh linaker came but soon went to barca
Not entirely sure players like this exist anymore.
@@paulmcdonough1093 great to hear all the ex players, who really loved the time with the blues ,be nice to hear Gary Linaker, never heard his take on his time at Everton
Tim Cahill. Big Dunc. Mikel.
I lived in Qatar in 1983 and there was nothing to do there then
I want to know why Messers Gray seemed so anti us on Skysports in the 90s
Mark Hanson because we were shite!
Gray was never anti-Everton when he was on Sky. If he criticised us, it's probably because we were shite.
Please come back to Sky, you're so much better than Neville & Carragher.
