IM SURE THESE 2 WEEKS OF JORDAN ON HOLIDAY HAVE BEEN THE LONGEST 2 WEEKS OF YOUR LIFE LIKE THEY HAVE MINE SPECTRE. I HAD TO LISTEN TO HEART NAUGHTIES FOR THE TIME SAM PRATTERFACE WAS ON THERE
I loved watching Big Sam play for Bolton in the 70s, Incan still see how he flattened guys and when he went up for corners us fans would Rooooar! Haha....he would head it with such power there was no one like him. A real Bolton Wanderers legend. My dad loved him and met him once but it meant a lot, at one of those player of the year evenings, dads ashes at the ground and three of us with names outside BWFC. Yeah he has done lots, and screwed up lots but.....Forever people of Bolton love him. 😊
His football. I watched him at Everton, where we went 4 games without a shot on target, FOUR. When we eventually did, it was Calvert Lewin against West Brom at home if i can recall, and the ground cheered as if it was a goal. That's his football.
Had the pleasure to attend many CPD events and training sessions watching Sam and I can honestly say, he is nothing like he is perceived by the media. I remember seeing him at Bolton and Pro Zone had literally been in the club about a fortnight. He spoke of what it will bring to the game once the data had all been input. As well as Bolton I saw Sam at Notts County, Newcastle, Blackburn, West Ham, Sunderland, Everton, WBA and Leeds and his sessions were anything but long balls into the channels though there is nothing wrong with that as that type of pass as it has to be played with quality. He was way ahead of the game off the pitch with things like sports science, S&C and nutrition. And on the pitch he didn't hide the fact that he played to a teams strengths which more often than not was direct, but why would you slow the game down when you can play forward quickly and create a goal scoring chance. His Q&A's afterwards were superb and like all good coaches he was happy to share his methods and thoughts. He's also a top top bloke who I feel the FA should have backed when he was their man, imo the FA missed a trick. Totally agree with the big man's thoughts around player education too.
Sam left Bolton in 2007. Undoubtedly he did well there and at their best Bolton played good football and Allardyce was able to attract international talent and not just Simon Davies. It's a shame that Sam refuses to reflect on what has happened in the last 16 years. Undoubtedly he was unlucky at Newcastle and Blackburn. There was only one club where Keegan could have walked into the manager's job and that was Newcastle. The Venkys had an unreal view of where Blackburn should be. It was at West Ham where Sam's career derailed. The first two years were fine and he re-established the club in the middle of the Premier League. Instead of trying to push on, Allardyce chose to play dire safety-first football. His reputation was established there and subsequently he was offered 'Fireman Sam' jobs.. Sam also blames journalists and other managers. He never reflects how unpopular he was with the fans at many clubs, the people who paid the main part of his salary
@maxwellboyne2770 Fans watch more of their own team than any journo. They don't have to read a paper to know whether or not they were bored watching their own team.
Big Sam makes a very valid point when he speaks about the education system not doing enough to support⚽football and young talent. A good success example is how American sports are intertwined with the educational system even if the young talent doesn't make it, they still have something to fall back on. This model has worked for everyone involved in American sports from players, colleges/universities, high schools, teams/clubs, sponsors, fans etc.. 🏈🏀⚾🎓
Absolutely love the Simon Jordan podcasts. My go to on my trips to work in Sydney from Wollongong, Australia. Can tease out the individual behind the person, brilliant listening.
i really enjoyed sam at palace, and wanted him to stay on. he didnt have that new manager bounce, and took about 7-8 games to start picking up wins. but i liked the football he played, and what he got out of the players. also agree with him about tippy tappy football. absolutely detest it. id rather watch paint dry, than the likes of barca and spain.
Two characters in 1 interview, Ego,s written all over it , Simon loves the sound of his own voice, and Sam straight forward as ever, probably the best one yet.
Great at Bolton Wanderers both as Centre Half & later as Team Manager for 10 years at Top level in Premier League. Big Sam did a good job at Sunderland where previously he played. As Manager he kept Sunderland against all odds in English Premier League winning relegation battle with Geordie rivals Newcastle United (the mags) & Norwich City. Fans of the Black Cats were devastated when Sam Allardyce left to take England Job.
Yet again a preconceived impression of someone can be flipped on its head by seeing them speaking outside of mainstream media. Decent guy! Great job SJ
Great interview simon, iv always been a fan of big sam. What he has accomplished with really poor teams is remarkable. If leeds gave him more than 6wks they would still be in premiership. The FA were disgraceful the way they threw sam under the bus

Nearly 10 mins on him not really answering the question (put 3 or 4 times) on how he felt about being called Big Sam. I usually watch all of these but its flatlined already for me. He certainly was innovative but can't seem to express that, concisely. I was actually pleased he got the England job.

I'd have Sam back at Sunderland, in a heartbeat. In the Championship, I'd say he'd take the job if offered. Cracking interview
Another hour and a half of Simon answering all his own questions, talking over his guests and telling us all how intelligent he is
Bet you watch the next episode 😂
The fact he got England job proved how we had lack candidates at that time and maybe still he will always be remembered for taking backhanders
Who cares?
@@krisclark739 i guess it depends but it wasnt as cloak and dagger as it was portrayed and is kinda irrelevant to football idealogy itself
Enjoyed the reference to Mick Leach coaching at Chelsea. We were in the same class at school. Lovely lad. He died tragically young.
Simon & Sam = Top LADS Proper Clobbers 💯 Facts
Another great podcast interview by Jordanite on Up Front channel.
SIMON SAM AND SPECTRE = TOP LADS PROPER CLOBBERS. SIMON JORDANS BARMY ARMY!
Money will always rule over player’s careers, that will never change
Say what you want about Sam, he has always come across to me as one those of few good men that are left
It's a very good channel you have here Simon, I like it.
Two characters in 1 interview, Ego,s written all over it , Simon loves the sound of his own voice, and Sam straight forward as ever, probably the best one yet.
Low bar
Missing you on talkSPORT Simon, won’t tune back in until you’re back next week 😊
Same here. It’s dreadful without white and Jordan.
make sure you pack his sandwiches and give him a kiss on the cheek before he leaves next time
What? Pennant, Agbonalahor and Jennings are top drawer mate.......😐😑😐
Darragh mcanthonys been unbelievable though tbf
Can't wait for this one!
Good watch as always. But Please give your guests a chance to speak and don’t disturb them. Thanks.
I would of loved big Sam at a major tournament for England. The passion would of been electric.
Very interesting interview.
Sam is too much of a straight talker for England FA top brass where as GS speaks their language. Is top PR trained & FA love that.
What a great interview 👏🏻👏🏻
Simon this is brilliant again. Thanks!
Does anyone else look at the books on the shelves and try to read the spines? 🙃
Bravo Simon, thoroughly enjoyed that, the in sight to the Leeds job was interesting sams a top guy grafter as he put it 👍🏻
Hi I’m Simon Jordan, today I’m interviewing Big Sam where I’ll tell you all about myself AGAIN
Go and get checked out, Big Sam 🙏 .
What a warrior of football management 👏.
Another great interview Simon.
Really enjoyed that 👍
FASCINATING . Two Intelligent Men Avin A PROPA CONFLAB . Thanks Fellas !!!!!
Loved big Sam at sunderland was gutted when he left !!!
Great interview simon, iv always been a fan of big sam. What he has accomplished with really poor teams is remarkable. If leeds gave him more than 6wks they would still be in premiership. The FA were disgraceful the way they threw sam under the bus
Achieved nothing as a manager like many other english managers but what a character
was passing through bolton few weeks ago-- had a pint--they love him---integrity----how cud he not slag southgate off--pro
I can see the Ann summers label on the back on simons wig when turns around
Was good to hear Big Sam take his share of accountability and not blame everyone else ....
Hahahahaha how could he blame anyone else?
How could he blame anyone else for taking a bung
@dannytallmage2409 Yeah seen many why do you ask?
@dannytallmage2409 I wouldn't call taking a bung a hilarious flaw?
@dannytallmage2409 Talk Anglo? You brought brown people up. That has no value in this conversation.
So enjoying this series ..fascinating characters and Simon active
If he mentions again "when I bought palace" and the millions he made again my phone is going out the window! Heard it so, so many times it bores me stiff
The man, the myth, the legend.
the myth yeah
Sam is right- if you don’t play like Pep’s team you will be sacked and mocked. And that goes through all the leagues.
Directors think their league 2 side should play like Man City!
Whatever you say about Sam, I like him because he’s real.
A genuine person who has overcome some challenges.
If you’re English and old school you know what I mean.
Nearly 10 mins on him not really answering the question (put 3 or 4 times) on how he felt about being called Big Sam. I usually watch all of these but its flatlined already for me. He certainly was innovative but can't seem to express that, concisely. I was actually pleased he got the England job.
Constantly avoiding questions he doesn't want to answer. This guy's full of it.
