    For anyone like myself who works third shift and sleeps during the day, if you notice that your Used Hours are a lot less than you actually slept while using the machine, know that the internal clock in the machine resets at 12:00pm (noon) so it will still store all of the time you've had it on and used...it's just broken up into two different times over two different days but it'll still collect your data and average time used.

    You could have added a comment on adjusting pressure. I had to call my supplier to get info as it's not included in the manual or here. Mine replaced an older Fischer Paskel single pressure unit set at 20 max. When I would start out with the unit at 4 it didn't feel like I was getting anything. To get into the clinical adjustments, (pressure) they told me I had to press the home button and the knob simultaneously for at least three seconds or until you see the menu pop up. Pressure settings....... follow menu as displayed. I adjusted my start up from 4 to 8 and it feels much better.

Also, if there's a travel CPAP to compare at all with it, Lemme know! This machine, my very first, took NO getting used to. All I do is put the mask on, and dream!! Good Work!!

    Insurance companies, esp medicare, require you to use it for a certain period of time in the first few months, so don't put it in airplane mode so the Dr can monitor your usage and he can tell you if it is working properly.

    I have the resmed airsense 10 autoset cpap machine and been using it since august of 2021 well, on and off. I usually get sick during winter. I cough alot and that is why I sometimes hold off on the resmed til i feel better. also, now that we are in the summertime weather i'm starting to feel warm air blowing from the heated tube. is this when i should start using the slim tube for cooler air flow?

    This question is a little different than the topic of this video....But does the Resmed machine have defective blowers in them? The machine I have is 9 months old (bought Brand new), there's is a humming noise which I am been told is the blower been defective. I gave it for repairs as it's still under warranty, Resmed wouldn't do repair cuz the blower has "water damage"!! WTF is that supposed to mean?!?!... I never got water in that machine...are they trying to rip me off?!

    • @--roz1436
      @--roz1436 3 роки тому

      I find that if the air is particularly humid where you live, the water goes down less. I live in the sub-tropics and use less water in the summer (very humid) and much more in the winter when we have our heater on (which dries out/dehumidifies the air). Perhaps this is happening for you?

    • @--roz1436
      @--roz1436 3 роки тому +1

      Like Chuck said, just refill, but every so often you will want to hand-wash it. If you use distilled water to fill the chamber, cleaning once a month is fine and sometimes you can go longer. Tap or spring water has minerals so you are likely to have mineral build up and it might get “slimy” inside. Distilled water is stripped of everything except the H2O, so it is cleaner.

    I was tested & fitted for cpap therapy and have been using a ResMed AirSence 10 cpap machine with nose
    pillow mask religiously every night for 10 months. I have followed all directions and made adjustments to humidity, etc. and finally just set everything to auto due to the hassle. I receive sleep report email updates from MY AIR saying my progress is excellent and the nightly sleep scores found on the web site are always in the high nineties but after 10 months I still do not wake up feeling rested. I am getting really disheartened about this whole process and if it wasn't for my cardiologist advising me to stick with it I would drop the whole thing. Any advice?

      I have the same problem in addition to continued fragmented sleep. However, some nights I am sleeping longer than prior to cpap. Still wake up unrefreshed and have short interrupted dreaming. I review my data on a program you can download, it's called Sleepyhead. I don't know the link but if you look around and do some reading on captalk.com you will find how to download and use that program to evaluate your treated performance. I use the Airfit nasal pillow mask for her and know I've had some mouth leaking and that seems to coincide with the unrefreshed feeling. I keep tweaking and trying to resolve treatment issues for better sleep. For some people it's an ongoing trial and error learning process.

      I just had a routine check up with my cardiologist and we discussed my c-pap results and he still insists that it is beneficial to my heart and to keep using it; he did offer to prescribe some low dose sleeping pills if I chose to use them which I did not. It is close to a year now and I hope the new year will yield a more restful sleep.

      @CPAPStoreUSA 7 років тому +4

      Rude Dawg sleeping pills is the enemy once you get used to it it's a pain kicking the habit.Also Sedatives+apneas = disaster. Think about it you rely on your brain to wake young when having apneas, when using sleeping pills you put your brain into drunk mode. Just a thought ask your doc if those two are ok. Also try to isolate the cause of your apnea weight, blockage in your nasal area Ect... one really good way is to see an ENT and have them do a CT scan in supine position that shows where the blockage is when you sleep on your back. _plus.google.com/photos/..._

      for some reason. when I put distill water in and I fill it half way even tried less, it wont close all the way but .. once the water is emptied. I can close and snap it and cant pull it out like I can when there's water in it. does this have to do with air pressure when putting this in? machine is off when I do it. also, I saw something about a warm up. not sure if that's what I need to do or adjust the settings because I haven't notice anything different between using distill water and not.

      Being a new user of this unit I have noticed on occasion the same thing that all of a sudden the mask is full of air and might blow out due to it causing a poor fit or it regulates itself, in any event I would call my therapist and mention problems and the issue would be taken down and the problem would be addressed and an explanation given. Like I said I am a new user and its a learning process. Good luck.

    Have had this for just over a year, and it's driving me snakey! It started making a howling/whining noise in time with my breathing and it's infuriating - I've had it back to the supplier who first told me they replaced the blower (!), and it worked for a week, and then started the noise again - whether they replaced it or not I can't say for sure, but the damn thing is howling again, and this is not just a problem with my specific unit because others have reported the same problem. It costs a bloody fortune and the manufacturer should get this sorted out! Up until this problem arose I was delighted with it, but now I strongly recommend AGAINST IT! RESMED, FIX THIS FRIGGING PROBLEM!!

    • @KNESBEY
      @KNESBEY 7 років тому +1

      You want to use distilled water because regular water will cause calcium to build up inside your machine and ruin it over time. Bringing water to a rapid boil and letting it boil for at least 1 minute removes the salts and impurities from the water which is how you "distill" your own water. It's the same thing you'd do to prepare the water for a baby's formula milk. This is how water gets distilled. Hope this helps

      Just to let u know, boiling water doesn't distill it or remove any salts or minerals from the water. You are merely sterilizing it. (Killing any bacteria etc). To distill it, you would need to boil the water and condense the steam into a separate container.

    In my opinion Res Med water reservoirs are crap, they only last a few months before they start leaking, I currently have four of their reservoirs and I need a new one now, all because of leaks, I think they are badly designed and need a permanent engineering fix.

    We have all these video's about this wonderful Res Med machine/s. 99.9% of all the videos are how to use and how to clean the water chamber, hose, mask, change filters. First the machine comes with a thick gray filter, replacement filters ARE NOT. Only small white thin filters. Good luck finding info on the original. Now remove the water chamber and look inside, you will see 2 holes that the chamber sets into. It also is cradled in the housing of the machine, where the heating bar is to adjust the humidity of the air into lungs and body. Look at the crud build up inside this section. You will also see the 2 holes which the water chamber connects to. You won't find any information, or least I haven't, except .from a couple doctors that talk about the moisture and water passing through these areas and how they can be passing bacteria from these areas into your lungs and body, causing sinus/lung, mouth nose issues. Most of these units require a doctors prescription to have about 80% paid for by your insurance, tops. These supplies can usually be purchased on line for far less money and are made by the same company, Res Med in m y case. With no 2 week wait and less hassle with insurance. Yes you may pay about 10% more after deductible's met. A whole dollar on a 10.00 hose. So the Doc's and insurance working together, you can only get one machine covered every 5 years. But you can't clean the inner workings of the machine itself. Why even discuss that it takes 4-6 weeks to get a Dr. appt. then set up same with their supplier. All while your battling sinus issues etc. This is still a relatively new concept in the health field. But plainly one that the medical industry has worked closely with the suppliers more than with the people who need them. Which brings us to the new machines which clean your cap machines. These are not covered by insurance at all. Pay for Doc visits dealing with the direct results of breathing in air and water full of bacteria. Allow suppliers to inflate the cost by 100's of %. instead of buying online with scrpts. Everyone needs a piece of the pie. Be prepared to buy a whole new machine out of pocket if you try and clean these hard to get to areas yourself and the machine no longer functions. Yes I'm ugly and cranky right now as this sinus issue has been on and off for months, and I if anything I have spent as much time cleaning, as I have in the ER, at my PCP, talking to the cap suppliers, watching Utube videos, and nothing has helped. It's simple, if you wear your mask once and have some type of infection, you have created a breeding ground for these germs to grow and there is no way to clean everything the way it needs to be so this isn't a recurring problem. Put the mask on every night and your creating ideal growing conditions. All germs, bacteria, and molds will grow with over 50% moisture and we are talking about things like wood, not human cells that are already 70 % plus in water make up. Get with the program insurance companies and cover the machines that clean these infectious machines. Why are the hoses ribbed??? They can't be cleaned and rinsed properly without leaving bad stuff behind. Some of the videos from Res Med themselves point out that the build up can be seen through the hose. It took a few months to get used to wearing the mask, I did because it was the cause of my A Fib, so my option is sinus issues, or Stroke. Would be interesting for someone to run a study on how these problems are much more wide spread with cap users, forcing insurance companies to cover the cost of cleaning machines. These are being produced for a reason one would think. .
