DIY Backyard Fire Pit with Pea Gravel Seating Area

I made a DIY backyard fire pit out of bricks a few years ago but now I'm going to be adding a rock seating area around the fire pit filled with pea gravel.

Thanks, you helped me know how much pea gravel I need. Building the same thing, but reusing a trampoline frame to enclose the whole area with bench seating. Thinking I may video some of it like you have done. Great job!

Pea gravel can explode at high temps. Use only granite stone.

its the moisture inside pea gravel that may cause it to pop...the temperatures typically needed to cause this are Hundreds of degrees...if your chair is sitting on 200-300-400 degree pea gravel, you have worse things to think about. Dont put pea gravel INSIDE your pit, but outside it should be fine because the temperatures needed to cause it to pop are seriously unlikely.
