Hearing another great interview makes me appreciate how fortunate we were to grow up during the transistor radio days and absorbing all that great music.
The Zombies, the Kinks and the Animals were some of my favorites of the British Invasion as well as yours and I hope you three beautiful cats all live to be a hundred, thank you!

I've been a long time fan of the zombies. I am 75 years of age and still play music. My band does does a version of " she's not there"

Great interview Joe. These guys, Rod and Colin, are so interesting to listen to, with fantastic stories. So many classic songs came from them. Hold Your Head Up, one of my all time favorite songs, and even sounded awesome coming out of a mono AM car radio. Impossible not to crank it up when it came on. Gotta go check out some Zombies and Argent music now.

A fascinating interview, especially to understand more, as an American, about how the early influences of American music impacted British artists differently than in the US due to racism in the American radio industry. This is very humbling and a revelation. "The English Filter!!"

Love these interviews and especially the stories of bands' early days, the writing and recording processes, etc. I had four older siblings who were into music. One of them had the Zombies record that had a picture of them standing on a bridge (I think), one of them wearing 'Buddy Holly' glasses. I was a big music fan by the ripe old age of 4, soon after The Beatles 'landed' here. As a kid I loved looking the album covers and record labels, I thought they were all like little pieces of art. I remember many of those album covers, and even the labels that bands were on. I clearly remember that Zombies album being on Parrot records. I don't know the album name offhand, but I'm pretty sure it had Tell Her No and She's Not There. Thanks for another great interview, Joe.

mnpd3, thank you for supporting the channel.
Although there are museums that represent musicians from their state, we are the only Musicians Hall of Fame that represents all genres internationally. Since you are in Nashville, come visit the museum!
      Look forward to seeing you,

Great Joe...love the Zombies. I actually like that type of Brit music way more that the Beatles. The Zombies have a unique sound that was in a category all it's own. They should be even more revered than what they are.

Thank you too James… I love the Beatles of course but I feel a lot like you too. There’s just something undefinable about the Zombie’s, Kinks, Yard Birds etc. that just takes me to a different frame of mind. Best, Joe

Just to correct a statement made early in the discussion, People! Who did the cover of 'I Love You ', were an American band. Featuring Larry Norman, who would make a name for himself as one of the Jesus Music pioneers.
