Hi, I also fish the finger lakes from a kayak but I have never targeted lakers. Is it as simple as you make it seem? Find deep fish and drop the jig on them? Looking to give it a shot
Hey Adam! Yeah doing it this way isn’t very complicated, those are the biggest things. I use a medium speed vertical retrieve - it has to be fast enough to create a sense of urgency in them, but slow enough that they can chase it down well enough too. They respond to this technique pretty well on Cayuga. Seneca not as much.
@@Adam-wv1ho Yeah I love that lake. I go there for Perch and Smallmouth more though. The Lakers are much smaller on average for sure, they taste better though IMO if you're looking to keep.
Great video! I like how you talk to the fish I do that too 😅 do you ever fish Lake Champlain?
Thank you! Yeah I do that a lot haha, glad I'm not the only one. No I've never made it over there so far.

@@rem_fishing thanks, you ever do Skaneateles? I know they don’t get as big as Cayuga

@@rem_fishing got some keitechs and jig heads. Going to give it a shot this weekend. Can you recommend any jigging spoons?
