@@justinmcmahan5285 I didn’t compare shit. I simply stated the tremor is inferior to the AT4X which it is. I didn’t bring it up, just pointed it out. I’m not biased. Both trucks are overpriced trash
Good to hear Ford improved the gear shifts in the 10spd tranny. So wonky and not smooth upshifting or downshifting at all in the lower gears. In 2021 and older models, clearing the adaptive tables seems to help a little bit, but that's not a permanent fix. Calling Ford dealership to look at it means a 3-month or longer wait time to get in. Booo!!!
Ok my opinion about the tailgates..you don't need to have anything else but just a step because is you load your truck with plywood or anything longer than your bed you usually do it with your bed close, I drive ram now but I had f150 before and I really miss that step on the gate is not shaky like you said very easy to use and quick to deploy. Now, if you have like very busy multipro tailgate this makes the gate very heavy people like me I clouse and open the gate very often on my job site you will hated a heavy one so I will choose Ford gate over any other one
Both trucks are awesome. Glad chevy finally redid that crap interior. I would go with the Ford tho. I like them a little more, and it's more on road friendly. I would likely use the towing and payload more than the offroad portion. Now it would be a tough decision with the regular AT4 as I am sorta interested in that 3.0 diesel. Sucker gets like 30mpg.. thats what I'm talking about.
@Camonly Yeah it was disappointing, blacked out Rst, sharp unit, and fuel mileage was insane, but to many emissions and electrical issues, I couldn't trust it...ditched it two months ago with only 33000km on it.
Agreed. Sadly GM always says that their 6.2L V8 is "good enough" for the off-road trucks. Maybe... but that's not pushing the boundaries of they can do like how the Corvette team pushed the boundaries.
Gm all the way. That 6.2 has way less problems than the 3.5 ecoboost if you tow a fair amount those turbos have a problem with breaking and that’s a very expensive fix. It happened to two of my friends so they both traded them in for the super duty
Got the ram and the f150, I have to buy something before New Years to deduct it off my taxes, and I’m getting either the Sierra or the Silverado, all fully equipped I like all the trucks I’m no fanatic of a brand like some other butt hurts
Nice review, as I was looking at both these trucks. I went with the 22 Tremor and I love it !! Very smooth comfortable powerful truck capable of going where I need to go in the outdoors when I hunt or fish. Looks super sharp and I am getting almost 19mpg in the city. Just got it in November, so I havent taken it on a long trip yet to see about hwy mpg. Highly recommend the Tremor
I also bought the 2022 Tremor and love it. Best truck i've ever driven hands down. Now the AT4X is also awesome, but not $10k better imop. If i was going to pay $10k more i think i would upgrade to the 2023 F250 Tremor with 35" wheels. :)
No better tire than the Duratrac for snow and on/offroad driving. Don't like the noise? Change your tampon. I'm a Ford guy but that AT4 - after the interior change - is really a good looking pickup. That gas bill though....yikes. Ford for me. Ram? Never heard of her.
Tremor ftw. No need to stop and fumble with front lockers....the torsion is always "on" and ready to go when needed... 3.5 is a beast and loves a jb4 +E30 Oh, and its 8-10k less! I'd like to see one of you guys in that 80+k Sierra go pinstripe it up showing the capabilities on a trail... haven't seen that yet 😅
This guy and the video both are super professional! I enjoyed watching. The GM still has wimpy sunroof and it's not a true flat rear floor. The Ford looks cheap overall, and the seat leather does not look tight with a good fit. Both of these trucks still need to take a page from RAM's interior when it comes to fit and finish. I love the GM's look, it just looks amazing from the outside and the cabin is getting better.
Great review! I’m thinking tremor. Maybe even the normal xlt with powerboost for better mpg. I always think I’m going to go off-roading but just do snow sport idk. Great options out there!
My friend has a 2022 AT4. He dropped the tailgate step with his ball hitch attached and now has a dent in the tailgate. Not a good design in my opinion.
yea that's a problem with the multipro tailgate. But for the 2022 models, they incorporated a switch inhibit feature so that the inner gate can't be dropped by accident.
The 2023 year models for both trucks are much better versions. With the Tremor, as mentioned, you’ll be able to get it with the 5.0 Coyote, and with the AT4X you’ll get bigger 33” tires and an AEV front bumper for a much better approach angle.
I completely agree with the 33” tires being an upgrade on the AT4X, but how is the 5.0 engine with less torque than the 3.5 ecoboost an upgrade? Wouldn’t you want the most capability out of the truck?
@@rogeliojr.paredes4465 Yea the 5.0 v8 is less efficient and has lower hp and torque. Personally i think the 3.5 ecoboost is the clear winner, and is the upgrade option on the 2023. Sadly price went up a LOT for 2023 models so if you bought a 2022 you got a deal honestly. With current inflation 2024 models will in crease another 10% or more in price over 2023.... SO i guess buy as soon as you can if you want one of these trucks, they will go up a LOT every year for the forseeable future.
My wife has almost 30,000 miles on her AT4X and it has been superb. I’m particularly fond of the interior and massaging seats. It’s actually nicer than our 22 Yukon Denali. I looked at the Tremor, but it just seemed too plain. Maybe that’s a plus for some 🤷🏻♂️
Honestly I think the AT4X looks better too. Especially if the 23 with bumper that has a factory wench. Ford missed on the looks of the tremor… but still very nice trucks. The price of the AT4X is mostly what I don’t like
Yeah the ford is the one I will go with you can keep the GMC if you want more capability there is always the raptors the 6 cyl and now the 8cyl and Chevy or gmc may have the trailboss but the raptor just eats that truck up
I'd of preferred to see the Tremor 250 vs GMC.... Yes, I know its a 3/4, but consider it a closer fight with 6.2 V8. Personally I could care less about the EB V6 in a truck. Weird GM chose to run the compression so high in their 6.2 and forcing premium. I personally know of two that have went with the 5.3 vs the 6.2 for the premium requirement.
Reason is so many buy vehicles based on stats, the power available in all trucks today is more than enough but people look at the stats and make the decision based on the numbers.
@@Steve-yr5vi People want the best bang for their buck that’s why they research to buy the best most capable vehicles. Some don’t like to settle for inferior products. Always better to have more truck than you need
I think TFL has tested the 3.5 EB vs the 6.2 a few times and the EB has always won in a 0-60. It has a broader power band than the 6.2 also without the premium fuel requirement. The f250 would be an overkill in this comparison imo
I'd love to do that too but I can't. The manufacturers don't want them to get damaged or scratched which I understand. If another auto journalist before me damaged it, I'd be pretty pissed too. Also, it's harder during this time of year to film. More rain, less daytime light, and still have to juggle a regular 9-5 job to pay the bills.
I was thinking the 3.0 Diesel for the Sierra AT4x instead of the 6.2 🤔 but I really do like the Tremor. But thanks so much for this review. I was wondering if those tires on the Tremor are noisy on the road. You answered that for me. Thanks!
Both are nice trucks and your delivery/presentation is great. I Do find it odd though, that when comparing two trim levels with an eye toward offering "off road" capability you cast out the one that does it better. Your reason.... "Because I would hardly ever drive off road" What??? Then compare a Denali to an Platinum.
I know, I know. But if I hadn't chosen one between these two, then the comments section would have been "why didn't you pick one?" etc. If I were in the market for a truck around this price, I'd definitely go for a more street friendly trim of the F150 with the Powerboost engine.
@15:25 Um, the features are not alike. Front and rear lockers and DSSV shocks. The ZR2 has already been proven to stomp the Tremor and the AT4X is similar enough.
I'm sure there is some aftermarket support for the Tremor. I don't know specifically which brand (Magnaflow, Borla, etc) has made an exhaust for it or not.
What makes me so frustrated is that the Tremor has such ridiculous rake and makes me hate its stance. The AT4X (and ZR2) have a great stance, but too small of tires. GM is just so close with their vehicles, but fumble at the goal line
That would be nice but unfortunately I can't pick & choose which trim I get. These two just happened to be in the press media fleets at the same time, which is usually rare.
@@MGReviewsBlog Any of the HD's have the ~6 1/2 foot bed (Power Wagon, Rebel, F250 FX4) or the FX4 F150 is the highest offroad package Ford does. Anyway, I always think 8 foot as the standard bed, pretty soon these trucks will have a 4 foot bed. Might as well just buy an SUV.
The Tremor actually has the same overall width as the regular F-150 and the Sierra AT4X is about an inch wider than the Tremor. But you're right about the Raptor. I had trouble parking it in some spots when I drove it a few weeks ago haha
I don't think it is. It's a middle step between the standard F150 and the Raptor. If anything, it's a bit closer to the standard versions of the F150 than the Raptor.
Your tailgate opinion made no sense, why shake them around with the gate open and the steps extended ? The Ford is an aluminum gate , the gate and the step are much lighter than the GMC. Ford's tailgate step is beautifully simplistic and doesn't detract from the appearance of the truck like the GMC mess does. Also when you swing down the GMC step it has been a common problem to make contact with the Hitch /Ball and damage the gate. Not a good design at all.
Would you rather step on a wobbly ladder one that's more sturdy? That's the point I was trying to make. The step on the Sierra is wider and feels more sturdy than the one in the Ford. Yes, the step is better integrated in the Ford and the tailgate is lighter but the GMC has more functions built in. Why should I pay extra for a bed extender when it's already built into the tailgate? (or other accessories that provide the same features as in the Sierra tailgate) As for the hitch/ball, just remove it when you're not using it or use the switch inhibit function so that you don't accidentally press it and drop the inner gate. I'm not saying that the MultiPro gate is perfect but it offers more functionality and feels sturdier than the Ford's.
@@MGReviewsBlog I'd rather have clean simple perfect functionality than a poorly thought out disaster. When you use the ford step it doesn't wobble at all. Your wobble test would only apply if you decide to drive out on the road with the gate open and step extended .... why would anyone do that .
These are 2022 models. The V8 in the F-150 is available starting with the 2023 MY. Plus, these cars are from the manufacturers. They get to choose what trims, options, and features the trucks have, not me.
Blue Cruise vs a free back massage every time you hop in your truck? That was an easy choice for me after seeing how BAD blue cruise was on my test drive. Ordered the AT4X over the Tremor the next day. And here’s something you won’t find out on your average channel about the AT4X, it can fit 35’s with no modifications, the Tremor cannot. My AT4X is rocking 39’s.
Two things...would love the 6.5 foot bed option on the Ford...my 09 dinosaur has it and the extra foot allows for 8 ft materials to fit kiddie corner with the tailgate up, or fully support 8 ft material with tailgate down...issue with the GM tailgate...I often drive with my trailer ball/hitch intact as I tow quite regularly...the feature on the GM tailgate will get damaged if your ball is attached...not fun with a 90k truck.

@Mitch Baltazar Yeah, I cross shopped Gm, Toyota, Ford. @Mitch Baltazar Haha, I may also hold a slight grudge, that Tahoe was kind of a dud and I got rid of it a couple weeks ago, luckily people are still willing to pay new vehicles prices for 18month old used ones, so there was no financial loss.🤣🤣🤣
Good point! I've always wondered if people that buy these full-size, nearly $100,000 trucks actually use them off the beaten path or if they keep them as pavement princesses.
Car and driver got 0-60 in 5.3 and 5.4 on these trucks, because of 1 FT rollout, for those of you who think these trucks hit that number from a standstill in street conditions with a half to full tank. keep dreaming FAM.
Best 0-60 I got in my 2021 6.2 trail boss was 6.2 seconds I recently got rid of it for a 2022 Tremor and the Tremor is clearly faster from a driver’s perspective. The torque difference is night and day. I’m getting 0-60 at 5.7 consistently in similar conditions if I build up boost before launching. Ford definitely underrates their numbers and GM overrates.

@@justinmcmahan5285 I didn’t compare shit. I simply stated the tremor is inferior to the AT4X which it is. I didn’t bring it up, just pointed it out.
I’m not biased. Both trucks are overpriced trash
@@justinmcmahan5285 you sound like your feelings are hurt. I’m sorry you bought a tremor and feel inferior
Booo!!!
Yes, I was quite pleased to see (or feel) that the shift was much smoother when setting off from a stop.
I’ll go with the tremor and save myself the $15,000
Ford also had better crash ratings.
yep, very true.
Tremor is ugly. Cant do anything about that huh 😂
@@xdean they both look dope to me
i want the gmc hands down ,
I went with the RAM LIMITED trim because of the interior quality and ride. Nothing beats that air suspension, IMHO. Love the sound of that HEMI V-8!
Might be a good truck, but these two are going with a off road capability, would compare more with the Rebel, and yours to a Denali and Limited.
Of the big three truck manufacturers, I personally like the Ram most for the exact reasons you provided.
Until your exhaust manifolds crack and you get the typical Hemi tick.
@D. Peterson hope not. That's why I leased it. Didn't know what to expect from a RAM. So far so good ,though.
Sadly...
That b roll intro was 🔥
Thanks!
That duramax is a hit or a miss, had one in my 2021 Tahoe. LOTS of issues
@@iggy-pg6gq really? That's unfortunate.
@Camonly Yeah it was disappointing, blacked out Rst, sharp unit, and fuel mileage was insane, but to many emissions and electrical issues, I couldn't trust it...ditched it two months ago with only 33000km on it.
@user-qc3tq9sr3g dang! That's depressing. Guess just stick with the heavy dutys
You made the right pick. Ford all the way.
2023 Tremor 5.0 what I'd love to get this year
I think this spec right here is ultimate sweet spot, glad the 5.0 is an option in the tremor next year
My biggest gripe with the AT4X is it should have a supercharged 6.2 for that price. Then it would compete with the TRX…
Had a GMC couple years ago, was not happy with it at all. The F150 looks like a much better truck. Going to get one before Jan 31
What happened to your GMC?
FORD BABY👍👍👍👍
With the 5.0 or the turbo engines?
I also bought the 2022 Tremor and love it. Best truck i've ever driven hands down. Now the AT4X is also awesome, but not $10k better imop. If i was going to pay $10k more i think i would upgrade to the 2023 F250 Tremor with 35" wheels. :)
Ford has the same old boring body style
Boring? That must be why they Always Sell MORE!
@@cirbar3467 have wait for 23 model to get 5.0
Loved my tremor. Love my raptor more.
I like the Tremor, but wish it had the hud and that multifunction tailgate.
All I want is the hybrid Powerboost powertrain haha
No better tire than the Duratrac for snow and on/offroad driving. Don't like the noise? Change your tampon. I'm a Ford guy but that AT4 - after the interior change - is really a good looking pickup. That gas bill though....yikes. Ford for me. Ram? Never heard of her.
🙄
I can vouch for the Duratracs. Just sold my 19 canyon all terrain (what they were before at4) and it was amazing in the snow… came with duratrac tires
Tremor ftw.
No need to stop and fumble with front lockers....the torsion is always "on" and ready to go when needed...
3.5 is a beast and loves a jb4 +E30
Oh, and its 8-10k less!
Glad you enjoyed the video! I agree, I still think Ram has the best interior of any pickup truck.
Great review! I’m thinking tremor. Maybe even the normal xlt with powerboost for better mpg. I always think I’m going to go off-roading but just do snow sport idk. Great options out there!
That powerboost engine is impressive. I'm glad Ford is offering it with many more trim levels.
Just bought a tremor. (My 2nd one). Love it !!!!
Good video, I already ordered one tremor 402a
Congrats! Did the dealership make you pay any markup?
Both super nice trucks! Great review.
Thanks for watching!
Win win! You just can’t go wrong on any of the new trucks today.
Yea, all of them are capable. It all comes down to personal preference & the little details.
Other than reliability.
@@rogeliojr.paredes4465 5.0 is faster than the 6.2
@@rogeliojr.paredes4465 because 400 HP and 410 ft-lbs torque is plenty, and Ford caters to all it's buyers, some want an NA V8.
That AEV bumper is hit or miss....I prefer the look of the 2022 model
My wife has almost 30,000 miles on her AT4X and it has been superb. I’m particularly fond of the interior and massaging seats. It’s actually nicer than our 22 Yukon Denali. I looked at the Tremor, but it just seemed too plain. Maybe that’s a plus for some 🤷🏻♂️
- billionaire confirmed
@@executive8680 plain 😂😂
Honestly I think the AT4X looks better too. Especially if the 23 with bumper that has a factory wench. Ford missed on the looks of the tremor… but still very nice trucks. The price of the AT4X is mostly what I don’t like
Ford all day ❤
Yeah the ford is the one I will go with you can keep the GMC if you want more capability there is always the raptors the 6 cyl and now the 8cyl and Chevy or gmc may have the trailboss but the raptor just eats that truck up
The Trailboss is on a lower level than this AT4X. At the moment, it doesn't look like GM will be doing a proper competitor to the Raptor or TRX.
Unfortunately I can't pick and choose the trim levels, sorry. But the tremor is available with a V8 now for the 2023 MY
@@MGReviewsBlog Nice! 👍

Neither of those two, I’d take a normal loaded AT4 DURAMAX diesel.
does the tremor have ambient lighting?
It does but it's nothing crazy or spectacular like in a Mercedes-Benz.
@@MGReviewsBlog thx. where is the lights? under dash? doors?
@@TheGregh1977 it's just a light that shines from the overhead console. I can't remember if you can change the colour or not.
Really great review!
Nice coverage but would've been nice to put them through their paces off road
I'd love to do that too but I can't. The manufacturers don't want them to get damaged or scratched which I understand. If another auto journalist before me damaged it, I'd be pretty pissed too. Also, it's harder during this time of year to film. More rain, less daytime light, and still have to juggle a regular 9-5 job to pay the bills.
@@MGReviewsBlog Understandable
I was thinking the 3.0 Diesel for the Sierra AT4x instead of the 6.2 🤔 but I really do like the Tremor. But thanks so much for this review. I was wondering if those tires on the Tremor are noisy on the road. You answered that for me. Thanks!
The AT4X isn't available with the diesel engine, just the standard AT4. Sucks :(
Only available in 6.2L
Just get a regular at4 they buffed the 3.0L so now it's better than the 6.2 if you ask me.
@@edwingiron09 I agree my friend👍🏽
I had the 3.0L in a Tahoe, so many issues, got rid of it with only 33000km on it... was really disappointed in that one, it was great on the highway.
one of the best reviews I've seen! Thanks! Definitely Tremor is my favorite!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the video!
Great video btw bro
Thank you!
Good job
I was talking about interior features. I already mentioned the difference between the DSSV shocks and differentials in the Performance section.
Can you add performance exhaust on the tremor?
I'm sure there is some aftermarket support for the Tremor. I don't know specifically which brand (Magnaflow, Borla, etc) has made an exhaust for it or not.
Great video match up! GM high union wages drive up the price & kills its value and the required premium fuel NO way.
Thanks!
Union wages don’t drive up the price. GM has had revenue increase over 12% since last year. Wages haven’t increased that much. Get a grip buddy.
Ford has raised prices and removed content. Are you delusional? Ford also has the worst value in the segment
You evaluated 2 off-road oriented trucks without taking either of them offroad.
I have to return them with no damage or scratches so that the next journalist can still use them.
What makes me so frustrated is that the Tremor has such ridiculous rake and makes me hate its stance. The AT4X (and ZR2) have a great stance, but too small of tires. GM is just so close with their vehicles, but fumble at the goal line
Great Review
I love my tremor😊
I’d take the ford with the 5.0. Faster and better payload and towing with ford. Plus gm has engine failing like crazy
You should review the 2022 f150 RMT
That would be nice but unfortunately I can't pick & choose which trim I get. These two just happened to be in the press media fleets at the same time, which is usually rare.
I wish Ford offered the 6'6" bed with the Tremor. I can't stand the short stubby bed.
I don't think there are any standard bed off-road focused trucks. (I could be wrong on that but I can't think of any)
@@MGReviewsBlog Any of the HD's have the ~6 1/2 foot bed (Power Wagon, Rebel, F250 FX4) or the FX4 F150 is the highest offroad package Ford does. Anyway, I always think 8 foot as the standard bed, pretty soon these trucks will have a 4 foot bed. Might as well just buy an SUV.
Chevy Silverado 6.2 Black
Tremor 5.0

The tremor like the Raptor is too wide for my liking in a light duty truck but that’s just me
The Tremor actually has the same overall width as the regular F-150 and the Sierra AT4X is about an inch wider than the Tremor. But you're right about the Raptor. I had trouble parking it in some spots when I drove it a few weeks ago haha
AT4 all the way!

Oh, unfortunately we don't get that sort of heat here in Vancouver :\
The tremor better choice

Definitely the tremor
Thx for a one sided review
?? Ok.... it's totally fine if you don't agree with my opinions...
Tremor is nice truck however i have guys say its a poor mans Raptor i dunno 😕
(or other accessories that provide the same features as in the Sierra tailgate)
As for the hitch/ball, just remove it when you're not using it or use the switch inhibit function so that you don't accidentally press it and drop the inner gate.
Simple tends to have less problems… but the multipro tailgate is sick! Fords design functions just fine as a step…gmc went beyond that
WhY wouldn’t this comp be v8- vs - v8. Makes no sense having a turbo comparison. Turbo wins hands down on fuel economy
These are 2022 models. The V8 in the F-150 is available starting with the 2023 MY. Plus, these cars are from the manufacturers. They get to choose what trims, options, and features the trucks have, not me.
I love ford but that gmc looks so mean!!
In that case I’ll take at4
Blue Cruise vs a free back massage every time you hop in your truck?
6.2 thirsty? Have you ever driven a Hemi, even the eco boost from Ford isn’t a gas saver.
Well they're all thirsty engines but I averaged better numbers in the ecoboost Ford & the Ram 1500 when I last drove that truck: ua-cam.com/video/FAV7pu3eGAk/v-deo.html
I also drove the ram ecodiesel: ua-cam.com/video/BdjKtKBYSBM/v-deo.html
GMC just looks way more premium, inside and out.
Keyword "Looks", if you sat in a At4 , you can tell they cut alot of corners
@@iggy-pg6gq well I own a SLT Sierra and interior materials are way nicer than the new lariat F150s we have at my office. Have you been in both the AT4X and the tremor?
Btw I'm not partial or biased toward any brand. I'm thinking of downsizing to a smaller truck. Open to both of these in the video
@Mitch Baltazar Yeah, I cross shopped Gm, Toyota, Ford. Went with Tremor, I did not like the At4x interior at all, seats were hard and I was hitting my head on the center roof pillar where the sunroof guts hide, I found the interior plastics terrible as well, scratch way to easy, had that issue with my 2021 Tahoe. I also didn't like how they still come with black unpainted fenders and exterior trim at 100k CAN.... I purchased the 402a package, not disappointed.
@@iggy-pg6gq thanks I'll compare. At first glance the GMC looks far better in my opinion but exterior isn't everything.
90k for an "offroad" truck is stupid. All the capabilities are sweet, but cmon. Nobody buys these and uses them hard all the time
Good point! I've always wondered if people that buy these full-size, nearly $100,000 trucks actually use them off the beaten path or if they keep them as pavement princesses.
AT4X IS THE KING
The AT4X has a far superior engine and drivetrain(especially with the Duramax). Both nice trucks, but to attempt a comparison is silly.
GMC with the diesel.
That's what i said with my 2021 Tahoe, got rid of it with 33000km on the odometer, way to many issues
Car and driver got 0-60 in 5.3 and 5.4 on these trucks, because of 1 FT rollout, for those of you who think these trucks hit that number from a standstill in street conditions with a half to full tank. keep dreaming FAM.
Best 0-60 I got in my 2021 6.2 trail boss was 6.2 seconds
I recently got rid of it for a 2022 Tremor and the Tremor is clearly faster from a driver’s perspective. The torque difference is night and day. I’m getting 0-60 at 5.7 consistently in similar conditions if I build up boost before launching. Ford definitely underrates their numbers and GM overrates.
AT4X wins the battle imo..its a more exclusive truck
so when they stop making it you won't be able to get parts? I'm not following how that is an advantage.
@Steve my point was in being more exclusive simply due to costing more than other (similar) trucks...equals to seeing less of them on road
Lol that means nothing. And I’m a GM guy telling you that
@Peetey you can't speak on what it means to me though...GM guy or not, you not telling me anything
I agree , although both of these trucks are 90k plus so you won’t be seeing many of them period .
Tremor
