i wish these cam with a FULL glass roof. would make them so much cooler
Great video. I saw my first (on the road) Silverado ZR2 today. Looks great and sounds awesome. Long live the 6.2!
I like the more luxury features on the AT4X but not enough to give up the diesel and switch to a short bed truck.
Traded my 2019 AT4 for a 2022 AT4X. Interior is outstanding. Top grain leather all around. Suede headliner. 16 way massaging seats that very comfortable. Best seats I have ever had in the 30 years I have been buying GMC's. Great electronics. Put some black GM 22's with Nitto Ridge grapplers on mine with an AWE exhaust. The upgraded Bose sound system rocks. Rides and handles much better then my 2019. Glad I got a 2022. Do not like the black metal bumpers on the 2023.
All I hear is more shit that’ll end up breaking
I do like some of the features on the AT4-X (I own a 2021 GMC Sierra AT4 6.2L). But, looks like the seats are still paper thin...and no interior color choices. You get what GMC says you need. Prices (overall) on these trucks are insane in the higher trim levels. I paid $54K (USD) for mine loaded and put about $10K into it for more "go fun" capability. Runs and looks better than when it was new. The 6.2L is an animal.
What did you do to yours brother . I got a 2020 at4 6.2 and am currently looking to throw some upgrades to it
@BluePrintFrenchies Cool. I got a Playlist on my channel with everything I did. One fun truck...
I would absolutely buy the AT4X, but ONLY if it came with the 6.5’ box. It probably doesn’t because of extended wheel base for off roading. But I think box length should at least be an option, just like on the AT4.
The Duratrac tires today are selling 4x4 trucks like the Wrangler TD's did on the GMT400 trucks years ago. Both tires look cool, but they both are horrible street tires. It's impressive how quiet the Duratracs are when they are new, but it doesn't last long. At 1/2 life they are VERY loud and shortly after that they will vibrate the truck at low speeds on pavement no matter how often they're rotated. Traction in rain and snow wasn't very good either. Went through 2 sets on my midnight Silverado before I smartened up and got Hankook dynapros.
The 2023 AT4X comes with the AEV winch ready bumper standard.
Love this truck. Down falls. No 6ft bed! The 2500 hd diesel same price. oww and why can't i get the 12 speaker bose as a option on the standard at4.
It depends on what you need both look excellent so do the chevy’s most would be satisfied with the AT4 . I’m sure with the economy today most would take the more affordable and seeing as with the AT4 and trail boss you can off road the heck out of them and having engine choices and same good looks as the top of the line . At least that’s what I did. Merry Christmas Jeff
That dual exhaust though!
Is the AT4X meant to compete with the Ram Rebel and Ford Raptor?
For 82k the X needs to be more unique. Bigger tires ? More power ? Nicer seats ?
Bought an 2023 AT4 1 month ago. And had instant buyers remorse not buying the X version. With that said aside from the lockers on a basic X what's really so much better. The interior, please don't kid yourself. My other car is a 2021 Escalade Esv sport, the AT4 interior is Nice. Massaging seats come on? I tail gate! My vibrating seat warning massages me all day! As for the wheels and suspension. Every X build has the shocks and wheels/tires replaced and lift kits done to them. My buyers remorse is because any modifications done to a basic AT4 will never be recouped. Where as on an X there are no mods needed. I did Borla Atak muffler, window tint, GM black 20" rims, Bilstein 5160s rear, 6112's front. 90% urban jungle driving, much more treacherous than any trail!
I drive a 21 silverado 2500 Z71 6.6 work pickup, and at4x will be my next personal pickup..
I heard the 2024 at4x will come with the 3.0 diesel plus you could get retractable step option 👍✌️🇨🇦
I have been looking to upgrade from my 2016 Sierra to a 2020/21 AT4. I keep seeing that there was a refresh in 2022 on tons of youtube review vids....showing the new 2022 refresh hash new front end, larger screen, console shifter..etc. So I figure what the heck, upped my budget and have been searching for a 2022. But all over autotrader and auto tempest, the majority of 2022's have the older screen and column shifter. Soooo....like what gives?
Unrelated comment but do you know if it is a common problem on new Silverado that wireless charging won’t work unless you take phone out of case. Even got new phone and case with MagSafe charging and nothing. Had dealer check in out and said it was working fine.
Could just be a lower wattage charger that can't get through the case
Beautiful looking rig! I had a 2005 Duramax diesel 2500 with the Allison transmission. Got second hand as a company truck and that thing worked without fail hauling a mini excavator on a gooseneck trailer. I kept it until 2018. Wish I had undercoated it. Awesome purchase guys!
Want the locking diffs but also want 6.5 box.
Doh 🤦🏼♂️
How is the 10 speed transmission behaving on city? I see on forums there is a shutter on the 10 speeds on city drive apparently most noticeable from 30-60
AT4X Does have the 3.0 Duramax option thank goodness.
I wonder what would you recommend when comparing the Silverado ZR2 Vs Regular GMC AT4?
@@Cody_Austin Yeah 6k difference I think the better value is AT4. I don’t need lockers and I really don’t believe that the multimatic DSSV dampers are THAT much better than Ranchos. However, resale value may be better with ZR2 over time. Id take AT4X but that’s 10k more than AT4!
@@josephkraft5640 the DSSV shocks are nice. But they have two drawbacks. 1)they’ve had known issues on the midsize Colorado. 2)the extra cost doesn’t necessitate the purchase (for most people who won’t even take advantage of it off-road).
@@Cody_Austin Yes I had a Trailboss with Ranchos and it was a fine ride. I think I’ll go with AT4 it has such a premium feel with capability that meets my needs. Thanks for help.
I actually didn’t recommend anything, just what I like, and what the differences are. If you watched the video you would have known that. Secondly I don’t work for a GM, I just love the brand. So, until I’m paid by GM in any fashion, your accusation is mute. 😀👍🏼
I actually like the ZR2 more than the regular AT4… Mainly because I liken the off-road capabilities and the looks of the exterior/interior better!
Strange GM gave these trucks a set of Duratrax instead of the Terroritory that GM has been putting on all of their new trucks. I thought they stopped using the Duratrax a while ago.
I picked up an AT4 standard box with the Duramax. Love the engine and the more useable bed. The Ranchos are meh-there’s a willowy feel to them at low speeds. I looked into the price of the DSSV shocks and it would cost about $2600 to buy them (not talking about cost to swap them out because I would do that myself). At $2600 for something that wears out and needs to be replaced periodically, no thanks. Bilstein’s will go on when it’s time to toss the Ranchos.
AT4X should have the duramax option.
😊
For that price I’ll go with the Ram TRX then
Goodluck getting a factory order
No diesel available on AT4x what a shame
6.2 is better anyways.
@@bradpowell843 nope 3.0L diesel 👍🏻
so as far as it goes being a gmc/chevy truck, premium interior that will still tear in less than 5 years, especially that drives seat from so much in and out, which i understand, but when you pay $70000 for a vehicle, shit should be built better! ! !
LOL I have an almost 10 year old premium interior and apart from tiny little spots here and there like the steering wheel where my hands sit and a cut in the seat from a tool in my pocket it looks mint. BTW it has over 200k miles so no garage queen by any means
