How did you convert the cobra engine to drive by wire assuming you used Holley ecu control packs unless throttle is controlled with the boost controller only thing holding me back other than the lights and interior stuff
Probably has boost by gear or something plus drag radials on the 20s. You don't have to hook as well doing half mile and mile stuff it has little effect on the run. Pretty impressive car.
That is a very clean unsuspecting S197 build for sure. Would put most Shelby to shame also; really shows what a properly setup modular is capable of doing. Ford went a little sideways with the new GT500 Trinity setup as they've had some issues but the 03-04 Cobra 4.6, first Gen 5.4 Shelby and the 5.0 Coyote platforms are all VERY stout and handle boost insanely well. We've seen more than 1 totally untouched longblock Shelby make over 1000Rwhp and turn high 8 second 1/4 mile ETs. They backhalf like a Honda too it's always impressive. Not plentiful and cheap like the Lsx series but every bit as capable.
are the 11'-14' dashes an easy swap into the 05'-09' cars, after seeing this I would very much like to do this to my car, not even gt500 specifically Id like the standard GT Dash
Ditch that giant scoop'd Supersnake hood in favor of a more aero dynamic cowl style and it will have an easier time getting that 200mph goal. Maybe a better designed air intake with less restriction and colder charge.
Lol. I'd say he's doing ok with the intake design. On the street he can flip a switch and cool itge water down to 33 degrees or just not even turn the water on and it's still air to air. No ice needed unless he wants to at the track.
Drew Montoya yea a slogan that represents something you refuse to give ratings it deserves cause your head is stuck so far up your ass your blinded by shit which comes out your mouth. Smh go sit down with your pea brain. PU$$Y!
This car sounds stock when drives by. The suspension and engine management will let it hook on the street on R888s. If you're smart and have a garage full of tools you don't have to LS the world.
These mod motors are amazing and can make huge power even well before the coyote. You absolutely don't have to ls the world Ford motors can put in plenty of work and do it with alot less displacement. 4v ftw.
Damn when he said 03-04 Cobra engine I was shocked. I know they will hold and make a lot of power but I was thinking he was gonna pop the hood and it be the 2014 GT500 5.8L engine. Honestly the 5.8 probably wouldn’t be as durable. Those teksid engines blocks are like gold.
The teksid is awesome because it's stout and it's aluminum. The 5.4 is a better engine than the 5.8 imo. The 5.8 is kind of overrated but this dude here has a fully built motor. The 5.4 and 5.8 can take that kind of power too with a fully built engine on turbos. The 4.6 is impressive all the mod motors are 4v ftw.
Matthew Ryan agreed i love a well built 4.6 but most people ive seen dont do it right and run dumb amounts of boost on a stock block with stock internals and end up with split crank cases, warped heads, broken head studs among other massive failures that cause un-repairable damage to their engine, pride, and wallet xD
This guy knows his shit. Anyone who knows modulars knows the Teksid block is by far the best of the pre-coyote era and of course the 4V heads love boost.
Had one in my Lincoln MkVIII...I always wanted to do something like THIS with it....but dont have the finances...lol. Would get me a divorce too. Still would like to see a 1500hp MkVIII....much better aerodynamics. Lincoln actually set a land speed record with the MkVIII....with basically a stock motor...180ish mph....
What transmission is he running in this mustang? And what gear was he in at the end of the track and how much boost was he running in that gear? The only reason I ask is because Ive read alot about how it isnt good for these motors to be hit with alot of boost after 4th gear... if that isnt really a thing Im gonna be mad because I stay outta boost in 5th and 6th lol I really want to take my car to one of these events but Im just afraid of the high gear boost thing I read about.
SICK! Think I may have to push my oldest boy towards swapping a DOHC 4.6 over the 5.3 we’ve been researching for his 92’ Fox. I so wanna get us into these style of events. One with in 90 miles every year. My junk ain’t fast at 600rwhp (3150 lbs) but it should be a good time none the less. C6Z’s fairly slippery through the air so might go around 145. I really just guessing. 1/4 should trap 130+. So 15ish mph in the back 1/4 seems doable.
Owens Racing The thing is Budget, it costs more to build a mod motor, sometimes twice as much for the same parts, but HP per Cube is unmatchable by almost any engine.
@@MVSTNGGT it costs more for cams because there are 4 instead of 1. Outside of that going built motor isn't gonna cost much difference between the two.
Chad Klodner is the Owner. Firstoff makes the coil mounts. They allow heat to evacuate from the coil area. The stock style covers seal the heat in. We haven't had any coil issues since we designed and started running them. email info@firstoff.com for more information.
It's a 3v era gt that is dressed like a gt500. How many 1500 hp mustangs you see driving around let alone one from the 3v era? I would Def say it's a sleepr. Looking at it nobody would think it even had half that kind of power.
An aftermarket 9" is NOT heavier than a factory 8.8". I'm an 8.8 fan, but there's a LOT of reasons to switch to a 9"... - first, strength isn't even close to comparable. The Dana/Mopar guys don't like to hear this, but a built 9" is stronger than anything short of a 14 bolt, maybe Dana 80, etc., and that's largely because of the pinion support(gears typically get eaten when too much power & traction causes the pinion to deflect - this doesn't happen with a pinion support) - second, they're already fully floating from the beginning. This means that there's a flange at the end of the axle tubes that physically holds the outer bearing to the housing, meaning that, if you break an axle shaft, you can still move the vehicle without the axle(and wheel that's attached to it) not sliding out, dropping your axle on the ground(you can find videos of this, especially drag racing launches). The 8.8 is a C-clip axle, which holds the axle shafts in the axle with little C shaped pieces that go in the differential and slot over a groove in the very end of the axle shaft. You either risk breaking an axle and losing a wheel, or you have to modify the housing to be full floating, basically using 9" parts to get the 9" features - no axle has the aftermarket support that the 9" does, it's the SBC of axles. The variety of gear ratios, differentials, off the shelf axle shafts, housings/drop outs is absolutely unmatched - the drop out style center means that you can have a lightweight fabricated housing instead of a heavy cast center section. This also means that you don't spin axle tubes in the housing with a 9" - the drop out center also means that gear changes are significantly quicker & easier, and it allows you to carry multiple drop outs each with a different gear ratio and/or differential installed for different tracks/styles of racing/street use, etc. Not to mention the centers can be had in any material from cast iron, cast magnesium, 100% CNC billet. - the axle design also allows for custom drop outs designed for even larger gear sets. [ring gear diameters] 9.5" & 10" are common in BIG HP drag racing, 10" is the GO TO ring gear in Trophy Trucks/desert racing(possibly the most abusive sport on axles - 800-1000HP engines at full throttle while 39" tires are literally bouncing off the ground, insane!), I believe I heard that there are even 10.5" gear sets coming onto the desert racing scene now(don't quote me on that) - you can get a brand new budget iron center/stamped steel housing 9" for the price of dirt compared to an 8.8", or you can go balls to the wall with a fabricated aluminum housing and a billet aluminum or cast magnesium center for a stupid light axle assembly I'm sure that I could list more, but you get the idea. The 9" can be cheaper, lighter, stronger, and just plain BETTER than an 8.8 ever could. And you seem to know how good the 8.8 is(a factory axle can support 1000HP at the tire with some aftermarket help), so that should put it into perspective. The 9" is just plain the most flexible and BEST axle in the racing world, especially when you get to this level of 1500HP and up, they can quite literally be built to do anything on land!
