- I went out to Akihabara to enjoy a little festive atmosphere and hunt for games, both for myself and for others. It was cold, it was brightly lit, it was a lot of fun!

Thanks for watching, everyone! I hope you're all having a great holiday season. On this night we unfortunately forgot our microphones but that didn't stop us, so I hope you all don't mind the dodgy audio here and there. We had a great time, and we'd certainly love to hear any of your suggestions for what you'd like to see in future videos. Thanks again!
Always love these game hunting vids, especially these festive ones though! Have a great holiday season Jim!
@PrettyBoyBagel Honestly, I'd totally forgotten about FF7 until I saw an advert on the train a couple of days ago.
No matter how many times I see Jim walking around tokyo at night, I still go crazy over it.
Agreed
Funny to see Ridge Racer V on display, brings back memories of 2000 when I saw it on a screen at my local import store. The importJap PS2 was £500! I ended up working (badly I will add!) for my uncle as a builder’s labourer for 4 weeks during summer and blew the lot on the PS2. The jump between the PS1/PS2 was shockingly apparent, I’ve never since been as wowed between gens. When I went back to school after the holidays no one believed I had it!
Thank you for this video, I love your holiday game hunting videos, they really light up those Japanese streets during the holidays, I love it, thank you
I love these game hunting videos. That Megaman 8 track took me back. 😊
YAY! Thanks for grabbing that game for me, Jim! Merry Christmas!
always fun to watch these.... even if you did forget the mics, it happens. :P great video and have a happy holiday and happy new year!
Awesome video, and happy holidays Jim! I'm going to go play some Strikers 1945 II now. All the best to you and yours.
First time I've felt the holiday season thanks for the video
Would love to see a video of you and Sarumaru in the future. Glad to see your channel doing so well. Merry Christmas Jim.
Hey Jim, I usually enjoy all your videos but this one was really cool. Loved how you bought games no matter their price ;)
Greetings from Spain.
Well, I wouldn't exactly say no matter the price, I passed on some rather expensive stuff that's been on my wish list for a while, but it was indeed a successful trip.
Have a Very Merry Christmas Jim!
Awesome...This video warms thy heart....
I picked up the Genesis mini around black Friday in the US for $49.99 ...price has gone back up a bit for it now.. I wasn't really thinking about getting but its a good price and it'll go nicely with my nes, snes, ps1 minis....
Haha! I was gonna say that I spy Yuki at the 13 minute mark and then I saw you grabbed! Awesome video and I wish I was there! 😃😃😃
Bring your cuddly ass back to Tokyo!
Wow 8:35 that mega man 8 ost brought a lot memories of me not going to school because of a snow day and going back inside from shoveling snow to play some mega man 8
On ps1
Every time I see a video on this channel from Akihabara I realize that the prices here in Nagoya are not so bad after all :D
Ahh looking at the footage at the end behind the station reminded me of the Try Amusement Tower. An awesome arcade that is sorely missed.
Great video Jim, hope you have a good Christmas.
Glad to see your channel growing, keep it up and happy holidays!
Will do. :) Happy holidays!
Love you content. Happy Holidays.
I am french and it's a Dreams your video,it's beautiful !!👍 In France the retro gaming it's expansive
Yo! Love how you using one of my favorites theme of megaman 8 in 8:52 . It really fits with atmosphere in that place 😁
Holy smokes did I just appear in a Kidshoryuken video? Thanks for the shout out. Yeah That Buds for me!!! Thanks man!!! I wonder if that Ultracore is any good? I need to visit one day.
You sure did Linktino.
Ultracore is AWESOME! Hard as nails though.
Happy Holidays Jim!!
The Gundam Cafe looks really cool. 👍
We'll be shooting a video on it soon.
Happy holidays mate, loved seeing the video with this festive theme.
Have a great one. Cheers
Merry Xmas Jim. Loved the video. I was hoping you got something for me for Xmas. More videos like this please I like it better when it's 3rd person you should hire a cameraman on every trip lol. Richie.
Funny you should say that, me and Dennis are going to be working on a lot of videos together in the future.
I'm in Akiba right now. Found all the Cassette Visions for sale, but just couldn't pull the trigger to buy one.
Merry Christmas, Mr. Jim ;)
But yeah dude, awesome camera work here! Definitely should do this more often! I know somebody who's coming to Tokyo next week who can help ;)
Awesome that you do this for your viewers Jim. If you happen to see any good Neo-Geo AES games available, i would be interested for sure down the line bro. 8^)
Anthony...
Ha ha, I see AES games all the time, but damn are they expensive. I hope you've got deep pockets collecting that stuff.
Merry Christmas / God Jul!
good to see you with a friend
pantera, municipal waste and iced earth. great choice.
Camera work is great and all but it was great with the voice overs.
That kinda looks like a Municipal Waste shirt you have on underneath the hoodie. If it is, kickass. If not, and you're a metal fan definitely check them out for some thrashin good times.
Yep, good eye, it's Municipal Waste.
KidShoryuken Haha woah! It looked like their font! I finally got to see them a couple months back with Napalm Death! Such an awesome show, and a super fun band.
what is it with metal and video games that go hand-in-hand I swear it's peanut butter and jelly
Merry xmas Jim from England. :)
im hoping to get next year a pocketstation in box, metal gear solid (all variants) and if im lucky that gold limited edition version
Good to see You and Dennis doing alright. Can't wait to meet you again, maybe in 2021 cause I stray as far as I can from olympics.
Great hunting and shots, your videos are getting better and better!
P.S. I'm jealous of that GG shirt!
Merry Christmas Jim!
oh man, i love Rokkuman suriiiii
Merry Xmas :) Quick question. Cause you spend a lot of time in Aki, can you recommend a good maid cafe / game cafe for a family ? Last time i was there i went to a airsoft cafe which was cool (5 years ago).
I'd say most of them are pretty family friendly, nothing at all smutty going on. Maid Dreamin is probably a good choice as some of their maids can speak English if your Japanese is weak.
Awesome video
I want a gameboy light so bad
You ever come across those often in japan?
I'm dying for a wonderswan.
Every once in a while.
Name of the song at 10:35?
Diamond Dust Zone Act 2 from the Saturn version of Sonic 3-D Blast.
Lots of really cool games, but what I really want is that Pantera hat. Have a Merry Christmas, and hopefully there’s a bucket of Christmas KFC with your name on it.
Happy Holidays Jim 🎄🎅
Happy holidays Jim, for Denis too, thanks for sharing the evening! xD
You need someone there to help you with the videos occasionally, very nice content breaking a bit down the usual style! o/
We're planning to work a lot more together, so get used to seeing Dennis.
Bro, War Wolf is awesome. However, it's one of those games where B is jump and A is attack. After you get used too that and some of the play mechanics, it's friggin wonderful.
Nice video! :) Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas. Are you going to go to the Mai Shiranui pop-up shop?
@KidShoryuken what camera do you use to record your vids?
hehehe I was just watching last year video and bam !
Turning it into an annual tradition. :)
I went to super potato in oct on a Tuesday afternoon was so many people in there couldn't even move
Merry christmas Jim!
I’m in Tokyo this Christmas great place to be this time of year. Do you know if the stores are open in the 25th and 26th ?
Stores are definitely open in tokyo for christmas. New years is the holiday that is where you are likely to see short hours and closed for the holiday signs
Scruffy Lookin RGB thanks! Yes had no trouble shopping on Christmas Day. Even Hard Off everything was open :) and the bargains were waiting to be purchased
@@gogosegagahope you got some awesome deals.
Scruffy Lookin RGB yes I think so! I always wanted a white Japanese Saturn. Picked one up for less that $30 at a hard off in Nerima complete. And a dozen games very happy haha
@@gogosegaga very cool! Thats one of the systems i havent got yet.
Akihabara is expensive in my experience . Osaka and Kansai area is cheaper when it comes to retro games .
I hope when I go for my honeymoon I can find my list of imports. Even if I have to pay the premium, it’s the aspect of finding it over there. Just hope it’s not dry :(
3:49 is when the sexy part begins, and the first look in this video at the retro classics. And we spot a boxed Goemon game from the jump. Looks to be the fourth SFC game.
A not under glass Purikura Daisakusen at 4:13, that seems to almost never happen. Looks to be well over $100 over course. Same frame is that sexy Samurai Spirits 3 and 4 double pack. I have both games, but got them separately a few years back. Tenchi Wo Kurau II and Keio 2 can also be seen in the same frame, both sexy, both pricey.
7:05 Magical Taruruto-kun, one of the most colorful games on the MD, from Gamefreak. Damned fun game too, but never truly cheap on Ebay. 8:00 I spot an Arcade Gears for the Saturn, looks to be Wonder 3, I have encountered that game once in my life, but did not pick it (was 50 bucks too, DAMN IT), and Gekirindan up in a shop in San Antonio, because I had already spent $180 on games, including $57 later on for Arcade Gears Image Fight/X-Multiply on PS1 from the same shop (someone from a forum I visit picked it up for me).
Also 3,828 yen for Saturn Pocket Fighters, people on Ebay want $50+ for a damned copy.
Cheers!!!
Does anyone know what that game is at 2:15? I'm guessing it's the same as the character stands next to the monitor.
Merry Christmas Jim 🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅
heh when you said coco, coco?!
Yeah, he knew there was no way we were getting coco.
Why are you hanging out with the Winter Soldier?
How much was Spider-Man lethal foes 🤔
Anyone know what the song from 3:26 to about 6 minutes is?
Oh and Merry Christmas Jim!
Christmas Nights boss music.
Jim i got to say, you are the Berry White of video games. There's nothing like making sweet love to your girl while listening your videos.
Continue your work buddy =)
Happy Holidays
I've got to say that's definitely the first time someone has said that, but I'm glad I could help you out in some way. Keep on doin' it.
What are you wanting for Christmas, mate???!!!🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁
7:46 the camera man has been revealed
Is it me or does anybody else wanna go play yakuza game just to pretend theirs walking the streets of japan
Iced earth, Pantera and municipal waste? How the fuck did I not know you had great taste in music?
Looking for video games in retail places like super potato isn't video game hunting. That's like living in the USA and going to a gamestop and saying you're video game hunting. You're just another follower after Pete Dorr MJR and all the others.
Other then the audio...I just didn't like this format as much. It felt too rushed, we didn't get to see up close details on the games like you do in your normal game hunting videos. I also miss you talking one on one with us. idk I guess I like seeing the details of games, and even checking out prices. It gives me an idea of how much things are over there.
That gochuusagi thing at the beginning was super cute.
