    ABOUT DANNY
    -----------------------
    Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
    I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
    On UA-cam and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
    Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
    I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

    I'm so greatful to you for this lesson but also all the others. I've been struggling months and months trying to figure out why on earth am I stucked with this ugly "chicken wing" during the follow through. I went through tones of UA-cam tutos but nothing. So many tentatives to explain why getting rid of this issue, but not efficient at all.
    And I found your courses, that is definitely helping me solving this chicken wing issue, but in the mean time helping me to hit the ball without hooking or slicing.
    Thanks, thaaaaaaannnks so much Danny ;-)
    (I'm a amateur golfer from Paris)

    I aspire to be an instructor one day, and your methods are SUPER SIMPLE. I am teaching my 9 year old daughter how to play, just on the putting greens for now with chipping and putting, but I truly believe that teaches you the calmness and relaxation you should be feeling. I appreciate your time to make these videos and help others... we need more people with this mindset. Cheers mate.

    Been using Danny's drills for several weeks - irons great but was struggling with Driver. Played 18 holes yesterday. Hit 5 wood off tees until I felt comfortable on back 9 when I used driver on 2 holes. Measured on my garmin and using Danny's drills one went 283 yards with an easy swing and a few holes later the other went 294 yards; straight with a slight touch of draw. Going to carry on with Danny's drills and with practice I hope to get my driver going each and every time. Feel great mood and am finally getting somewhere with my golf after several decades. Wish I knew this drills in my teens. Thanks Danny.

    I've been following your swing drills and using them. My handicap has come down from 24 to 20 in the last couple of months. I have watched and tried many different ways and (fingers crossed), yours seems to be the one that works for me. This drill is one that fits. Thank you Danny I am so grateful for your lessons.

    Danny this video is, as you say, one of the most important videos to learn the downswing correctly. I struggle with a rushed backswing, rushed downswing, and thus an improper weight transfer. This video covers it all, and I find it immensely helpful. Many thanks!

    Oh yeah. Thanks Danny. And my crazy question from last week about momentum and inertia at the top of the backswing is answered by this video. Stop rushing, be patient and “feel” it. I have felt this before when I’ve hit the ball really well and as soon as I want to hit it harder it all goes pear shaped. Awesome video and great drills. Cheers.

It feels effortless and I am not trying to melt the ball. I still need a bit of practice with driver. This is a wonderful video and 2 drills everyone should be practising. Danny, I am on a great roll with your lessons. Last week it was the shoulder turn drill that greatly improved my swing. Today, I used the "101" tempo on every swing, from driver to chip shots and putting. I felt so relaxed. I hit two klunkers the entire round and both times the ball was gone before I finished saying one hundred and they were both topped shots. I am 72 yrs. old, playing four times a week, living in south Florida. I feel like I am striking the ball better than when I was younger. Your drills are simple to apply. Most of them had been shown to me at some point in my golfing life which is maybe 60 yrs, but as the expression goes, " when the student is ready, the teacher appears." Please to make your acquaintance Coach!

    Danny, tried this at range last night, 101 as a "Swing Thought" very helpful. Did about 15 step and hits, a coordination challenge. Last drill reminded me of sketch in a golf magazine of focus on left inside heel for right handed golfer, thinking driving that the heel right spike into turf in swing, your idea to do that starting downswing. Thunderstorm in White Plains cut short session. Many thanks, Ken

Yes getting back to that crucial steadying move of the One Hundred & One gives you time to begin the swing. I am very good at hitting in just the One Hundred count.

    Tried this tonight at driving range. The one hundred and one drill helped me get my sequence - it felt as though my swing was not rushed but everything came through in correct order - and after a dozen balls I got the hang of it. I then tried second drill which took me a bit of time to get my co-ordination but I could feel what to do despite not connecting with the ball well. I believe I will need to do this a couple of hundred times to get the correct move but I am hppy to put in the time and effort because what Danny says is correct and will work.

      Hi Danny. Here is some Feedback: The "step method" did not wirk for me. But the "pressure-in method" was great. This weekend I broke 100 and had a score of 95. This was mainly because I had much solid contacts with the club so I could reach good green shots from distances from up to 170 Meters :-) The GIR Percentage was 40% which is great for me currently. With a bit more training I am confident, that my iron strikes will be much more constistent. Golf was so much fun last weekend. Thank you so much for this video!

    Hi Danny, Thanks for all the outstanding teaching videos. I wonder if you would address the degree and length of time each of the upper extremities are connected with the torso in the back and downswing. I believe this disconnect makes it difficult to synchronize the upper and the lower body.

    Excellent video instruction Danny. When trying out the drill, one of the first things I realized was that i was not lifting my arms high enough in the first place. When I became conscious of this and corrected it, it was even easier and more natural for me to start the swing correctly.
    One thing I struggle with when I swing my irons is maintaining the shaft lean that I set up with before the backswing. I use a Flightscope monitor when I practice and while the swing is too fast to catch on video, I can see from the launch angles recorded that I am actually adding loft in addition to whatever my club face already has which is costs me a lot of distance. So despite the good downswing the bounce of the club hits flat and my swing still fails to take a good divot in the right place (if at all). I'd love to see a drill that helps me maintain my desired shaft lean (or de-loft the face) thorough the swing, if you might have such a lesson in your amazing bag of goodies.

    As usual Danny; great training video, many thanks. Question:- re the flex in the right knee? In the set-up, the knees are flexed, in the top of the back swing the right knee is straightened (a little? completely?) During the start of the downswing the right shoulder comes down and the right knee is flexed again. As the right shoulder drops, is the right knee (re)-flexed to exactly the same extent as in the set-up? If it's flexed too much I'll get a fat shot, too little and it's a thin. I understand the 'turn' principle including the weight shift to the left leg so that I'm facing the target when the I've hit the ball, how do I ensure I get a 'ball then turf' strike. In other words, what do I do with my legs to avoid a fat or a thin ball-strike?
    Keep on sending the videos please.
    Kind regards
    Peter

    Great drill Danny.
    I’ve watched many videos lately on the lower body leading the golf swing. I’ve always been upper body moving first dominate ....... but not a severe over the top move at all. When I practice with moving the bottom of my body first, bump toward the target and opening of the hips, I still turn my upper body too much towards the target before I release so I still get a pull..albeit..not as severe as before. I have my body tilt fine so I am staying in my posture so everything is good in that sense. Do you have any feels for when the back shoulder should stop and then the arms and lastly hands fire?
    I know they should but for the life of me, I can’t seem to stop the back shoulder from forward movement at the right spot. It’s extremely frustrating. Any drills for the sensation of stopping the back shoulder at the right point in the downswing. I’m so close with my swing and finally understand what to do but this is the most frustrating part for me to get down...any kind of suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
    Anyone else reading this who has any ideas on a thought or drill for this..feel free to comment. Drinks are on me in Canada if you can help me!
    2 month until I can play so I’d like to get this all down before then if that’s possible that is.
    Thanks again Danny for your content....I look every day for your new videos...you have a great way of explaining things! Wish I was closer.
    Cheers

    • @DanielMaude
      @DanielMaude  5 років тому

      Thanks Don, I think getting a wet towel and snapping it at impact is a good one. Its less about stoping the right shoulder turning and more about increase the catapult feeling/whip/snap at impact. If theres is no snap the shoulders are forced to do the work

    • @DJ-pe2pi
      @DJ-pe2pi 5 років тому

      Thanks Danny..I try to keep my trail shoulder feeling like it is more moving down under my chin coming into impact but I find it hard hold the release off and I end up hitting it a bit thin...or hitting slightly behind the ball.....possibly I have not posted up fully an am rushing the down swing.
      Should you feel when you post up properly that your lead shoulder is quite a bit in front of the ball at impact...maybe my back shoulder wouldn’t have a chance to get too involved if I make sure the posting up is correct? It just feels like I’m too far past the ball at that point to hit it on a relatively low descending strike...I kind of feel like I will have to chop down to deliver the club at that point.
      Thanks for the replay Danny!
      Cheers

    Incredibly important and difficult concept to put into practice. I understand that the lower body needs to initiate the downswing. However simultaneously, is the upper body really doing nothing? I thought as the lower body starts, the arms do move downwards to get into the "slot". There are youtube instructors who advocate not dropping the arms down at all and just rotating the upper body through- it is confusing. In your opinion, should the arms feel that they are being pulled down with the right elbow coming in as the lower body moves or should they keep the position at the top? A discussion of the slot concept might help this. Thanks.

    • @DanielMaude
      @DanielMaude  5 років тому +5

      Its a really interesting subject and one that is different for everyone due to the concept of feel and real. Some golfers because of how they swing should pull their arms down others should leave them up. Start tossing balls out into a field and notice how you do it. Then just do the same thing but toss them towards the ground as if you were throwing the ball to bounce in line with the middle of your stance and then skip straight forward. Notice how you did it
