Why in hell do these people think it's OK to grab the reins of any horse unless the rider asks them to do so? If they grab the reins and the horse decides to get upset about something the rider hasn't got complete control of his mount and people might get hurt. Then they would be angry with the horse and rider. I just don't think I have the right to ever touch a working animal no matter how beautiful they are.

My aunt has a beautiful black Labrador, he's her service dog. It clearly says on his jacket and harness "working dog: DO NOT touch!" Yet people still go groping him. He is very patient but snapped at an idiot that grabbed his tail. These idiots are quick to blame the animal when they get bitten 🙄

What shocks me about this is why he grabbed his tail?😑 Every person who uses their brain cells normally knows very well that no dog likes to have its tail pulled or touched. And really the other one, don't touch the dog, only if the owner gives permission.These days, more people intelligence level is sliding down the slope of retardation.🙄

Possibly these are foreigners who don't understand what they are being told. The only solution is to keep them further away from the horses - they could still pose, just not near enough to touch.

I swear, the police needs more strict enforcement of the law. The police needs to start issuing citations for disrespecting the guards or even yanking the reins. That needs to be grounds of arrest.

It's hard when they don't speak English....I think that was the problem.....on the other hand, if they didn't want anyone around the horses, they know what to do to stop it.....if people are respectful of the Guard, there wouldn't be any problems.....but they need to know what the limitations are before approaching the Guard....

There are enough police just standing around horse guards they should be monitoring the crowds and the way people are approaching the horses and guards. These crowds are unacceptable, they should be moved along.
And the police always wander over after the guard has shouted and hardly ever go and talk to the tourist the guard had to shout at..!!
Actually it helps horses to cope with noise and crowds....

These are highly trained soldiers, guarding a very special and important place! They’re security guards! To everyone who crosses the line and makes them shout at y’all, especially when you do it on purpose, shame on every single one of you! If you can’t follow even the simplest rules of places, don’t go to them! These soldiers are not meant to be made fun of at all! They sure as hell are not meant to tease! They are working! You don’t like it when people disrespect you when you were working, so don’t disrespect them! Anybody who does anything like what this girl did should be fined, arrested and removed from touring!

I’ve been watching “Get off the Reins!” Videos all day. This horse is cute. He seems to be enjoying checking out all the people.
I’ve heard, “Get Off The Reins” so many times today. It reminds me of, “Mind the Gap”.
One of my favorite guards... never heard him yell before, he is usually quite friendly. Although yes she deserved to get yelled at, all 3 of the previous tourists also grabbed the reins... she probably seen that and thought it was ok and I don't think she speaks English either. But she should have figured it out the first time he yelled!
Some people get upset when shouted to. Pity pity pity (see my tint violin?). Guards and horses are soldiers. They have a job to do. This Karen grabbed twice. She more than deserved a shout out. I have no sympathy for cultural differences when it's just plain disrespectful. Rudeness is still rude.
I'll bet those people who are yelled at go away thinking " geeze that guard was rude.," When, of course, it is just the opposite.
This is soooo cringe. Why do these folk think its ok to lay hands on this officer and the horse without asking if its ok? As a Brit, I would never dare do that, especially if in a foreign country. This girl holds now this negative record: she accomplished to make the most chill and gentle guard shout at her, not even just once, but twice! Btw, it seems to me she was either imitating those 2 women that did it before her, or, more likely, just did it on purpose, judging by such a dumb smile on her face the whole time: even if she doesn't know the language, whoever would understand that if they shout at you in such a way, evidently you are doing something wrong. From what i often see in these videos, now i think many people are increasingly teasing the guards to get some reaction and make a "nice" video as a souvenir or for tik tok; they know that grabbing the reins it's a good way to get shouted.

I'm from Texas so I guess I've grown up with the rule: Don't touch a person's horse, and certainly not the reigns without permission.
I did hear 1 person ask if they could take a picture. The rest are being extremely disrespectful & rude. Not to mention tempting a dangerous situation. 🙄
Those soldiers have the patience of saints. I would not be happy with that nany people messing with any of my horses. They are there to perform a job, not to be a photo prop. Great job sir and wonderful job handling your horse!!!
If your going to yell at them make sure it's all of them not just a few. If one sees it and gets away with it they will all do it. NO HANDS WHATS SO EVER TOUCHING HORSE OR GEAR SET THIS AS A RULE. it won't stop until you in force it. People are testing you.

The same kind of disrespectful behavior happens at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier but the guards there are armed with rifles not swords and they will quickly check you if you step out of line!
This ignorance on the part of tourists is unbelievable!! You have to be much stricter with them!!! Visual signs must be used to warn them that it is forbidden to approach the horses! Touching the horses will result in a fine! Then they won't think they're in Disneyland. This condition is torture for the horses and touching many dirty hands can cause infection!
I am amazed there is soooo many THICK tourists who think it's acceptable to touch the Guards horse's reins.

I have owned a horse and if I was riding and someone grabbed my reins - my control over my horse, I'd be annoyed and say the same thing. You just don't do it!

I think its ok to touch the horse and shit but not the actual reins themselves. They control the horse and the horse will think the rider is giving instructions when the reins are moved or pulled
@@kevindagod I see your point and would agree if this was a petting zoo, or even a stable. These horses are at work, though, and they have people going way beyond where they should go when it comes to both guards and horses. There should be NO touching at all, of either guard or horse.

@@kevindagod Those signs do no good at all. You can see how well the "Do not touch the reins" signs are working; if anything, people are taking them as a challenge. The only way to stop it is to put a fence . The horses can leave by backing out, rather than walking forward. No pomp and circumstance there, but much more efficient and better for both horse and rider.

Was it me or what! The Guard was watching something in front of him whilst people were still going over and touching the reins? He’s a truly fantastic Guard but he seemed to have other things on his mind this time…. These tourists have absolutely no idea how to conduct themselves around horses. Watching them drives me crazy. They rush towards the horse and guard and anyone with half a brain should know you just don't do that. After the rush in then they either grab the reins🤬🤬 or hold their hand out, and the horse being curious, naturally wants to see what's there. Then there's the squealers. They are so damn lucky that the horses are just nuzzling and maybe a little nipping, because if he actually bit one of them he would do major damage.
I give all of these guards a hell of a congratulations for all the bull they put up with and do it with dignity.

I live around Fort Worth Texas, we have mounted sheriff's department that patrol areas of Fort Worth. There is a big tourist area of Ft Wort. If you grab the reigns, they will rope you and take you to jail. If you do that to any other rider, you are going to get worse.
Do tourist not realize the Guard & horse on working they are on duty?! Maybe they think they are standing there for pictures -ridiculous pictures--ridiculous.

Id love to get paid to sit a horse all day. I was a trail guide for over 20yrs. The stable closed and there just arent any places like it left. None close to me anyway. These guards have an awesome job. Well, except for the constant ignorance and disrespect they have to deal with.
