There are no barriers. This is on a public road ,at the entrance to Horseguards,HQ of the British Army. Barriers could cause a greater danger, narrowing the pavement and creating an obstacle for horse and pedestrian.
Put a stop to stupidity is an impossibility. There is a sign with a clear warning beside each horse guard. And even without a sign, a soldier on a horse is definitely not a pet. What do they want to show by touching the horse or even the reins? That they are in control? Ridiculous.

One of things people don’t understand is that these guards are real soldiers - military that have possibly served in Iraq or Afghanistan- they are not dress ups for the tourists amusement - people should pay their respect by leaving them alone - many of the Kings Guards are out there on the public front working for the Monarchy after doing duty elsewhere for their country 🥰👍🏻🇦🇺
Absolutely correct, they are doing a job as said they may have been deployed overseas, I get angry seeing tourists pull the reins and touch the guard, they are on duty for the King, not dressing up to play to the crowd. 🇦🇺
They have recently added the white line box around the horse and guard, but even then some people push the envelope. Perhaos the armed police need to enforce the No touching reins or guards. People don't realize how dangerous a horse's bite is. Those guards have patience. People don't realize they are actually working.
Yes, it's very amusing, except when it scares little children and I hear them crying from the fright. I love to watch the "adults" scream and scatter. If I were there, though, I would attempt to help foreigners to understand what to do and not to do to help them because of the language barriers of so many. Some of the cops are very good about explaining things to foreigners, to help them understand and are very respectful to them and they are relieved to know what went wrong. The foreigners take it well, from the cops.
It is of constant amazement to me, how disrespectful people can be. I can't imagine how the guards stand this all the time. And when these idiots get yelled at, they respond with an attitude. They should get their butts whipped until they have some respect. Thank you, Guards. You're magnificent.

Probably because they think they’re props or toys. They don’t take them seriously. Even when they’re being yelled at. They don’t respect them as soldiers with a job to do because they’re not actively moving. Probably a lot of stupid reasons.
Buckingham Palace is a tourist attraction. The Horse Guards are a part of that. These elite soldiers understand that. They want tourists to enjoy themselves as long as it's safe. The guards know how to handle whatever situation arises. Fortunately the horses and riders have one hour shifts to support their good will and patience.
1) There are printed warnings, but as my boss so eloquently put it, "Do you expect people to read?!?" 2) She was quite obviously not used to ever being around horses.
They are very big, powerful horses. If the horse had bolted when the man put his arms through the reins, he, and the guard, could have been dragged along and many other tourists could have been injured or worse. Believe me, I know from experience I always respected horses that I have had, either large or small and know the true force of horse power.

@@angeIroque It does. Pulling on the reins too hard puts pressure on the bit inside of their mouth, which can cause pain or discomfort. When a horse it's opening its mouth or tossing its head (often upwards to escape the pressure) repeatedly, it's usually a sign that the bit is uncomfortable or hurting when the rider pulls too hard. Foaming/salivating can also be a sign, although dressage riders often claim this to be a horse "accepting" the bit which is sadly a _very_ common piece of (passionately defended) misinformation. 1:22, 3:21 to 3:35, and 5:23 are examples of how _not_ to handle the reins.
@@lavishlyvice I learned horsemanship as a child, and I quickly picked up that part of horsemanship is criticizing other equestrians for their posture, the horse's impulsion, throughness, he way the horse is saddled and reined and last but not least, how the horses are kept and groomed. For example, when I was a child, it was still pretty much the norm for horses to be tied up one next to another, seperated by metal frames -- only very expensive horses had a box where they could flop down on the side. There were plenty of people who criticized the practice, and plenty of people who defended it. I remember having an argument with an older man as a child -- he said that a horse that is through for several hours each day does not flop down to rest. I said the polar opposite, i.e. that while horses can take a nap standing up, for deep sleep they need to lie down on the side. I was also against the straight bit and spurs -- because those who taught me how to ride did not use them. Nowadays, I think light use of both does not constitute animal abuse anymore than riding a horse in the first place. Something that is not natural for the horse and imposed on the horse by the human. It is definitely not vegan, but there's plenty of vegans who never gave up riding, and I know why. Because riding a horse, especially one you bonded with, is a rewarding experience. It feels like two hearts beating as one -- for the rider, that is. It's not a friendship between equals, even though vegans who ride horses like to say that. Not until the day the horse can throw the saddle on you, put a piece of metal into your mouth and ride you.

I don't understand why the horse has to pay the price, he should just kick those people or poke them with the sabel instead.

Are these people doesn't know how to read? Cant they see a beware sign? This is not a petting zoo or a Disneyland park.
Watched the first one (so far), the guard should be able to hit anybody who refuses to let go of the reins!
Don't be stupid that would be assault
I AGREE someone walked up and grabbed my Arabians reins... I wouldn't have to do anything, she would take a hunk out of their arm! I would reward her for it too. Pain is a excellent teacher!
Language barrier is also a culprit in this. Most probably can’t even read the sign posted.
@@cherylmahaffey6184 so they would try that with American police? Um no they know what they are doing. They’ve seen pictures/videos of people grabbing the rein. I bet none of those damn people would grab a American police horse rein. UK is weak.
They are in fact allowed to use force at their own discretion. They're working soldiers, not toy soldiers.
That horse knew exactly what he was doing when stepping on that man's foot. I love those horses. Some have their ways of getting back at the tourist and at times the Guards act like they don't see it. LOL
Well-tempered but not accepting everything for granted ;)
Lovely and smart animals haha
One has to wonder how some of these people managed to survive to adulthood.
I fully agree. Acting the fool and so juvenile. What about the parents pushing their children to stand next to a 1,200 to 1,400-lb animal while they are frightened. Thick!
Remove all safety warnings and let nature take its course
Had a darn good laugh at the lady with the white pants 😂😂😂 GOOD FOR YOU HAHAHAHAHA 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
I'm sure that horse has been trained to stand on people's feet, it looks so deliberate, clever chap.
Pity he hadn't rested on that leg for a minute, limping tourist
Dude not only touched the reins but the guards leg... Smh 💀
He's a creep ..
When he doesn't get the Reins at least get the guard's leg 😂
That's super cringeworthy
A police officer explains to a tourist why it’s not okay to touch the reins.
The amount of idiots I just witnessed is shocking
The patience those guards have, amazing!
Good job Sirs. ❤
Much thanks for your Videos. One learns about these beautiful horses indeed.
The horses are so smart. I laughed when the horse just picks up his hoof and places it on the persons foot.
And when one bit that ladys fingers!
Yeah..surprised me when the horse didn't apply his weight. That guy could have ended up with broken bones and was lucky that the horse let him off easy. The horse that held the girls fingers..that horse could have caused painful damage but didn't. Scared her good and I bet she won't put her fingers in a horses mouth again.
@@Spy-Duckie - That's so stupid. Why would any sane person put their hands in any animals mouth?
@@grandmajane2593 Dunno, but it looked like she was rubbing his nose, then he lifted his head and started putting his mouth around her fingers and she just let it happen like she had no thought the horse would clamp down. Some people come to realize they just screwed up a little slower than others...guess she was one of that category. The "lightbulb" look on her face was priceless as he exerted pressure...I gotta look again to see if he had a mischevious glint in his eye.
@@grandmajane2593she obviously didn’t read that clear sign next to the horse that says they bite. I don’t feel bad for her. She deserved it
4:35 respect for the officer for explaining to the man with such clarity and respect
They shouldn't have to explain.
Didn’t anyone ever teach you never to touch anything that doesn’t belong to you? Or is it okay if I sit on your car or maybe get your dog’s leash and take him out for a walk?
Do you mean the cop who went to talk to the man who grabbed the horse's reins and yanked on them, then acted like he didn't understand why he was yelled at? The cop explained to another man why that happened and then asked if he could translate to the puzzled man why it happened, so he did and when the cop left them, he gave them the thumbs up sign. The cops have the time to explain things to others, that the Guards don't have.
What don't they understand get off the bloody reins. If the horse moved and knocked someone over it would be their own fault
