Aaron I have an idea for you. Make a box that can be moved with the forks of the skid steer that has a bottom door. you can place it under the elevator to catch the kernels. Enjoy watching corn harvested on the cob.
The guy that picks the Corn 🌽 at the Le Sueur County Pioneer Power Association grounds finally got done 👍 a week ago and then we had the STALKS CHOPPED !!!! THEN WE HOOKED UP MY 710 PLOW TO HIS 706 DIESEL!!! IT TOOK HIM A COUPLE OF HOURS AFTER HE GOT OFF OF WORK ❤❤❤😊😊😊
Such excellent filming with camera positions, epic puffy clouds and that suck picker in action, as well as your narrative produced a fine video . Thank you.
I had the pull type Superpicker with the big husking bed. I pulled it with a 4020diesel, and, it would eat as much corn as I could push though it. Of course a good crop was 125 to 150 bushels back then, but, it was a great machine. I fed some of my corn, and, shelled the rest with a Moline 1200 sheller, not the most efficient way to do it, but, it worked and, I did not spend any money to dry the crop. I had a hydraulic motor on my elevator, so, I just used the 3020 on the wagon to run it, instead of having another tractor on the elevator, it worked well, and, only took a minute to plug in the hoses.
Best picker built! My dad had a 2 row pull type New Idea picker that always picked exceptionally clean. The corn appears to be very dry as it really cleans out of the wagon well.
We have always had a problem with morning glory and wild sweet potatoes vines all my life fighting them and then one day my wife brought me a pack of seeds to plant pretty flowers in the garden and I was shocked. They were morning glory seeds😂😂 I didn’t plant them 😂
That isn't Pioneer 3388 of 40 years ago. It shelled hard. But the varieties of today are light years ahead in yields. The last two years would have been a disaster with those old numbers and the lack of rain we had.
You guys do a great job. Love your videos. It’s great watching how you guys do your farm work. I wish there was more small family farms around instead of the big mega dairies. You definitely take pride in your farm with all the hard work you do. Nothing against farmers expanding at all. But small family farms are what started the creameries and co-ops. But never recognized
Good looking corn! I have parked the grinder/mixer under the elevator and ground the shell corn as it fell out, kept tractor (JD4020) at mid idle and infeed auger slow (Gehl 120) and used 3/8 screen. An afternoon of unloading corn made for enough for a batch of feed, and I didn't have to shovel any. Next morning just finished out the batch with the other stuff and unloaded mixer into bags or bin if there was room. Moisture was a bit high, but we fed it right away.
2-4 D or the new Freelex will take care of the morning-glory. The hotter and brighter the day the better for spraying. You will fight them for years, though. The seed can lay dormant in the field for 7 years.
Hi Guys, a couple of questions from Dorset England. Do you bale corn stalks for bedding ? Do you have problems with vermin (rats etc) from the corn stacks ? great video's thanks for sharing
I enjoyed watching the corn sliding down inside of the wagon. Am glad things are going pretty well. Really sorry that Mason couldn't have found his deer. Maybe some day you will get one and find the scar. My nephews like to hunt our corn fed deer. My father, brother and I all have an uncomfortable reaction to seeing blood. Too bad, because I always wanted to be a nurse, but that's life. I planted multicolored morning glory's once and as the years passed by, they all reverted to purple. They were a PAIN to get rid of as their roots can go down as much as 15 feet. Another plant (bindweed) has the similar characteristics, but with smaller white or pink flowers and smaller more pointed leaves. They are exasperating. Thanks.
Bindweed is (unpleasant curse words), and makes Morning glory look like a mere nuisance. Both are late season germination seeds, so you have to make another pass with the sprayer to whack them. 🙄👎
Just a point of interest, the New Idea corn picker was manufactured in Cold water,Ohio and the J andM grain wagon was manufactured in Ft. Recovery, Ohio. I lived in Greenville,20 miles from both. Great video!
The corn is sure sliding out of the wagons nicely. Sure couldn't ask for nicer weather for harvest in your area. Hope things continue to move along smoothly.
Have you noticed any more problems with the Oliver 1650, hope not. We had problems with morning glories in our bean fields back in the day when we were still cultivating.
Love the corn picking video's, picking corn was my favorite job right next to chopping sileage. Also so good to see Oly out working again. Some day I want to run a mounted picker, I always thought that would be fun, and itchy. We had a New Idea 2 row pull type, they work great.
I can't believe how well your wages unload Do you put something on the bottom Good call wearing gloves the ear corn always made my hands sore Maybe you could put some alfalfa where the viney stuff is until it goes away
Hello enjoyed your video. I'd like a hat do you have the ones with velcro? The ones with plastic and holes just for me are not quality. Have a great day.
hi nice corn crop it is very dry do you feed it to the cows and how many area there where is this farm , corn grew good this year you give it fertlizer and lime also thanks for the video.
Lots of memories. Doing ear corn. Several farmers in our area lost their hands and arms in the pickers. So much easier to clean out when leaving it running. Bad deal never safe to get off tractor with the PTO running 🤢🤮😱
Could you not put your small trailer under your convoyer and catch the shelled corn falling out instead of the tarp where you have to pick the tarp up and empty it? You said picker was leaving more corn on ground than a combine, how many kernels you guess wound be in a 12 by 12 inch square? That would tell how many bushels per acre the picker is leaving over what a combine would. We really enjoy watching your videos. Thanks
I could sit and watch that 2 row corn picker all day. You guys are a good team. America Needs Farmers!!!
Don't blame your mom lol
Nothing cooler than picking corn with a mounted two row picker.
You guy should film your deer drives
Your dad is a real engineer plumber electrician mechanic and a great teacher
Ahh! Poor deer. Lets hope it is well and not half dead.
I did that a lot on the farm
I got my Gierok hat today thank you. (Dave)

oh yea the old movable fences.
Another great video i got my hat last Friday i really like it
Picker does a very good job of husking.
Those new idea sure pluck clean compared to Jon Deere 300
In a few years I plan on buying a New Idea 323 corn picker.
I used to help unload corn with a team of horses an a box wagon
Dam this reminds me of growing up dad had a pull type new idea and i hauled loads with an oliver 770
That picker is cleaning great
If it was me I would totally refurbish the Oliver. That is a great piece of American know how.
Gierok Farms - the purveyor of hats.
Great video Gierok Farms
Corn ears look perfect out to the tips. Your father really enjoys the help you and your brother are doing.
Great job unloading ear corn 🌽
In our area of upstate NY the local Extention guy says that’s Bindweed
Great share 👍 👌 👏.
Nice vintage Machinery. This is what I like about your channel. Not much corn pickers up here, if any. Lot's more corn 🌽 silage up here
Thanks for the video guys! Some of the very best farm footage on here! Great job!
Corn picker is the only machine that I haven't seen. The boys run. Seems dad's having way too much fun to share.😂
Rock in roll 🌽🌽🌽🚜🚜🚜
Thanks for sharing.
Good Sunday morning Gierok Farms!!!😀😀😀
686 with a New Idea. Perfect! We had a New Idea mounted on a 400 when I was a kid
Great job picking ear corn 🌽

Hi why do you harvest corn on the cob and why store the corn in large cribs out in the open cheers for the video I enjoy watching.
To let air get through to continue to dry the corn
Thanks for sharing the video. Nice looking corn.
Great video
love the corn picker it nice to see something deferent from a regulator combine
Best picker built! My dad had a 2 row pull type New Idea picker that always picked exceptionally clean. The corn appears to be very dry as it really cleans out of the wagon well.
Renk should sponser you
Would planting in the hay for several years work to get rid of that plant
Love your family and the old fashioned hard work and team effort you guys have
Looks like some lovely country were you are. Interesting to see how you do it all. Hope harvest goes well. All the best 🇬🇧.
We have always had a problem with morning glory and wild sweet potatoes vines all my life fighting them and then one day my wife brought me a pack of seeds to plant pretty flowers in the garden and I was shocked. They were morning glory seeds😂😂 I didn’t plant them 😂
Great corn, the cobs are well filled.
Brings back a ton of memories.
That will some beautiful corn it really picked clean
That corn picker is sweet! ✌🏻💚🌱
Great corn and great weather
Awesome video
You do a good job on the farm 🚜 with the cows 🐄 and calefs
That isn't Pioneer 3388 of 40 years ago. It shelled hard. But the varieties of today are light years ahead in yields. The last two years would have been a disaster with those old numbers and the lack of rain we had.
How many acres of corn you got

I tend to believe it will come a full circle back to small farms
When I don't know
@@paulmartin8784 I can see that happening in the future. That’s what we definitely need
Full rate Banvil will take care of the morning glory.
Fairly new to your channel and enjoying it very much.
Corn looks good and couldn't ask for better weather to pick in . Love all your videos. Sometimes staying small is better.
Totally enjoyed watching the guts 😊
I love the equipment you run.

Great job on picking and putting it up. That’s sure some beautiful country up there. You guys have a nice farm!
Thank you for your vids , brings back a lot of memories, I really miss picking and chopping corn.
The old saying used to be if the cob floats it’s fit to crib. I found that to be pretty accurate in the low 20s it starts to float.
I enjoyed watching the corn sliding down inside of the wagon. Am glad things are going pretty well.

Lovely corn cobs, congratulations
Love the video....

I see the chain came off the sprocket on the picker. Been there done that.
😂 that was entertaining! I had to really concentrate but I understood everything 😊
Why are the back tires on the Oliver set so wide
Love watching your videos!
Have you noticed any more problems with the Oliver 1650, hope not. We had problems with morning glories in our bean fields back in the day when we were still cultivating.
Was hoping Allen and Jen would come to see your corn picking set up 😊
U guys do such a nice job getting it done God Bless y'all ❤
I will buy a hat if you guys autograph it :)
Love the corn picking video's, picking corn was my favorite job right next to chopping sileage. Also so good to see Oly out working again. Some day I want to run a mounted picker, I always thought that would be fun, and itchy. We had a New Idea 2 row pull type, they work great.
Personally, never picked ear corn into a gravity wagon. We picked into barge wagons. Love watching that New Idea going thru the field.
I’ve seen fields do better along a driveway because the dust from the limestone kept the pH stable. Sunlight helps too.
Are you near Ettrick Wi

Take the drone out , may find him . Watched a couple videos of hunters tracking and drones was the answer to success. Just a suggestion.
How many cows are you men milking?
What murity is the picked corn?
Great stuff.
Does your picker have problems feeding the stalks through when it gets dry mine sure does you just about have to pick when it's damp
How is the Oliver been running any problem with the oil yet
Plant alfalfa ware the morning gloreys are then you can keep it cut tender.
hi nice corn crop it is very dry do you feed it to the cows and how many area there where is this farm , corn grew good this year you give it fertlizer and lime also thanks for the video.
Why are the wheels set so wide on the Oliver?
Well promoted videos showcasing an excellent managed farm. How can I tell? Just look at the equipment and one can tell this farm has plenty of money.
no just care of older machinery
Hey banjobenson9348, Hahaha, it takes a lot of money to "care." hahaha
Lots of memories. Doing ear corn. Several farmers in our area lost their hands and arms in the pickers. So much easier to clean out when leaving it running. Bad deal never safe to get off tractor with the PTO running 🤢🤮😱
why do you cut the stalks up so high? Doesn't that make it harder to disc/ plow under?

👍
Still want a hoodie from you guys
What are the dimensions of your cribs excluding the cone roof?
How do you handle all the debris left over from harvest? Also, I bet your dad is slap worn out after a day harvesting corn.
