Now I learned what to do to keep my platters from warping, a bag of rice. Thanks for the great idea. You’re an excellent teacher. Thanks for a great video.
The foam hair rollers were a fantastic tip. As a man with a shaved head I didn't even know those existed in that length. Definitely gonna keep an eye out for them, thanks.
@@ThePotteryWheel I have definitely noticed that, bought a ton of tools just starting out and they're still in their packaging while I use cut up key cards, forks, and clothes pins 🤷♂️
Amazing video! Your working area is so clean, your voice so soothing, the tipps are gret...the hairrollers are a genius hack..watching this in bed recovering from covid.
This was a fabulous, comprehensive, thorough, video and I've learnt so much from you! I'm making a dinnerware set for my daughter as a wedding present. You have now made it possible. You're so gentle and calm. Thank you so much 👍
Lol, I'm glad it helped. I was a little embarrassed to include it because I thought it was a bit weird, but a couple of people have said it was helpful, so I'm glad I did!
Your work is beautiful and your instructions are so comprehensive. And your voice is gentle and soothing. Thank you so much 🙏🏼🤗 Blessings from Australia.
Best plate making video I've seen! Wow using hair foam rollers to support he rim of the plate to dry and weigh it all down with a bag of rice. Subscribed!:)
The foam rollers are a brilliant idea!!! Went to take a look at how you made the mold and it’s soo awesome!! I can’t believe I have never put my strips together BEFORE I make the foot! So sillly how we get used to doing something and don’t think about how it could be done more easily!! Thank you sooo very very much for your videos.
Thank you so much for your video and the wonderful firing technical articles on your website. I was wondering in your first example at which point you should add a texture.❤
Hi Cindy, thanks for your kind comments. I'd say, add texture after you've cut the slab with the template and allowed it to firm up a bit, then add the texture before you curve up the edges.
To make a notched rib. Like you said cut from credit cards or plastic. Except use a hand held hole puncher then cut down the middle of the hole. You get two ribs.
Hello you help me so much with your video and instructions! Please could you tell me where I can find the support you just put it around and under the plate so when drying will help to keep the shape around? Thank you!
Great video. I love the foam hair curlers tip. What type of material did you have the rice in and about how much rice? A few cups of rice? Thank you for sharing.
sorry for the slow reply! I just use an old cut up t-shirt or sheet. Nothing special. And I vary the amount of rice depending on the size of the plate. I don't think there is a 'correct' amount. Just make sure that the rice bag isn't to big and putting pressure on the rim of the plate. Hope that helps :)
