    A little trick I learned years ago is to use a balloon to press your clay into the mold. This way you get better contact with the sides without the finger marks. Cheers!

    This is super relaxing and so much fun. When I was little I got an award for pottery at the Clay Arts Center. I use to make pretty things for my Mom who is no longer here on earth with us physically however she is spiritually.

      @The Power of Nature - well, to get technical, she made the bowl without a wheel. The foot is absolutely do-able without the use of a wheel. She even says "to make it easier" but not "you must use a wheel" to attach, etc. Regardless, kindness is easy. She's giving us an exceptional lesson for free!

      I can't believe how many ugly and sad comments there are ... people who are here only to find you a mistake ....in order to then "stretch" you over comments and first of all they are not concentrating on what is important at all, but just stupid questions why you are not this or that ... mah

    • @Petielement5
      @Petielement5  4 роки тому +1

      @The Power of Nature poterry wheel is not the same thing like banding wheel...if you want to do the pottery job, first thing that you need is banding wheel

    • @peterb652
      @peterb652 4 роки тому +3

      @The Power of Nature She doesn't use a pottery wheel - that is, the kind you can use to make a bowl. She is using a banding wheel as an aid to turn the pot around. You can use a lazy susan, or if you haven't got either, just turn the pot around by hand.
      If you don't know the difference between a pottery wheel and the type of wheel she's using here you don't really know enough to be making critical comments.

    I'd be pleased with myself with this result. Good, clear instructions.
    As for it being removed from the mold, as explained in the text, it will just pop out after waiting for 2 hrs: the dry mold will have absorbed some of the moisture from the clay, resulting in some shrinkage so, it will be slightly smaller than the mold. Removal is now easy.

      If you don't care about having to wash it later, you can use just about any bowl you already have in your kitchen. Bisque is good because it absorbs the water from the clay very quickly, but you can make do even with regular household bowls, made of glass.

    • @Petielement5
      @Petielement5  4 роки тому

      You cant make clay. You must find a hobby shop or else and buy it. Also in this video i use professional colors called underglaze for decoration. And you need also transparent glaze for finish. Where are you come from? Ask in your town for ceramic shop ...maybe there.

    • @Petielement5
      @Petielement5  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Stephanie....just leave the clay inside the bowl toshrink by itself. It will dry and it will get out when clay dry because it will become smaller so you can get it out. If you use any other kind of bowl like glass, ceramic or metal than between clay and bowl put some paper or plastic wrap.

    I would have used the sponge to push the clay into the bowel rather than having finger marks in it in the first place. As an answer to the question on how to remove the clay from the bowel, I assume you let the bowel dry just a bit then turned it upside down on a flat board since the bowel would have shrunk just a bit it would have come away from the porous pot that it was made in. This would not have been so some of the bowel you had used o make it in had been glazed.

    • @Petielement5
      @Petielement5  4 роки тому

      Hi Barry...yes, you can do it also with the sponge but anyway, first of all, you must put a little bit of pressure into the mold and after that you can smooth all surface with the sponge. Everything is exactly what you said about removing the clay from the mold. All the best 👍
