This video excites me about trying slab work again. I have attempted hand building a few times on my own. I found it way more difficult than I had effected. Previous videos I watched did not provide all the details you have shown here. Thanks so much ❤ i will definitely be giving slab building another go. Love your channel. Cheers from Nova Scotia, 🇨🇦

Hi thank you for your tutorial regarding the round vase, the inner tube being a wonderful idea, I have a question could the same technique be used to make a square vase always assuming I can find a square inner box of the right dimensions. I find getting my hands down into the joins to make them smooth and tightly joined very difficult, so wrapping around would make it so much easier. Have you ever done that and did it work out well? Kindest regards and many thanks for the video,s

Hi! I've been doing slab work so this gives me some great ideas.
Wanted to let you know the link to the wax resist is a dupe of the craft foam link. I had a question about what that is and how it impacts later glazing. ~~Do you scrape it off before glazing?~~ Oh duh.. it burns off in bisque. This is what happens after a long day at work.

Hey, Ken, glad the video gave you some ideas, and thanks for the heads up about the dupe link :-)

Very impressive with the bevelled angles of the neck by eye, amazingly skilled. I find that when I cut out from a template the clay moves and warps beneath the knife, do you dry the clay with a heatgun or leave some time before cutting out the templates after rolling out the slab?

I leave them sandwiched between a couple of sheets of wood :-)

Hi love the videos , very interesting. Could I ask how you deal with the inside connection on the angled pieces , you can’t get your hand in to add a coil to support the join like all the other joins in the vase .

where on your blog are the links for the downloads? I see a lot of ads for downloading 'downloading extensions', but I don't see the actual templates. Can you provide a more specific location?

I made the vase according to instructions. The two halves were fine BUT when I attached the two halves, I ended up with one side bulging a bit and the other side much flatter. I shall try again. Does anyone know what thickness the rolled slab was for the tall joined vase? x

Hi Anne, was the one that bulged the teardrop shaped vase made from two cones? I'm wondering if the clay was still a bit fresh when you attached them. If the clay is still a bit too wet, it can sag. The slabs for the third taller angular vase were 3mm thick. I hope that helps.
