    The key to unlocking thr full potential is to use biostimulants to trigger SAR responses without stressing the plant at all. I've been using a mix of Chitosan, Salicylic acid and amino acids as a foliar. It makes a very noticeable difference after a week of application. I'm supprised Athena doesn't have a biostimulant product like this! It would save me mixing my own.

    Seen this from the new era of growers that everyone for some reason decided not to stress there plants at all . There are so many methods used over the 3 decades in growing hydroponics.
    When leds came out seen this really happen by alot of people .
    Using temps , nutrients , flushing , lighting changes , etc all used to causes a stress ! Love seeing this being posted .

    So sick of people saying "good" genetics. When they need the right genetics for the environment. Especially when most breeders selling "good" genetics give very little info on the plant. Different cultivars for different environments. To expect one cultivar to grow in all climates isn't gonna work. So find genetics for your environment. And of course most only talk of indoor. Flushing kills the brix levels. Fruit and berries loose taste when getting a lot of rain around harvest kills the brix levels.

      If you grow and allow some to seed every year the plants will adapt to the environment but it takes time. Genetics are a great start but environment changes the genes.

And the plant that should have finished by now , I let sit in there for like 4 days before I figured it was finished , and let me tell ya , within 4 days the trichomes that built up on the plant was insane . Pretty sure the added light definitely built up more trichome growth by at least 20% than what it looked like before I threw the auto in .

    I followed the Athena manuals steering method and got some incredible results. On round two it was just necessary i didnt have any veg time so grew em tall for the first 3-4 weeks and switched the watering up and Bam they just got wide and fat. I thought I would see some results i didnt realize just how much I can make em do what I want em to do. I ran 3 harvest in 3 months just collect and pick strains and messed up a little and dint take my own advice and I made to many changes on grow 4, I topped them more times, I over vegged a little but I have room, I kept the same company for nutrient but I switched from liquid to powder and i didnt run C02 until about week 4... everything is fine but its isnt epic eye buggin fuck what did you do? how did you do that this time. If you make changes make em one at a time so you know if worked or not...or which thing didnt work. Crop steering as defined by Athenas manual is the real deal though and i really had good results with the fade product. Im really looking for the right bio stimulant that I can still pass testing and live worry free. Im gonna use triacontanol which i cant prove myself but said be the active ingredient in Snow Storm Ultra and I use Stack and IPM and Cocowet too. Grow 5 is getting the full monty. Terpinator just doesnt work ...ive been told Bloombastic is the bomb but so is the price and for commercial its a little intimidating. Im gonna give Signal Terpine enhancer a try 50 bucks a gallon compared to 350...

    Many long-time growers know that the quality of the HPS yield is still difficult to achieve with LEDs
    The most interesting thing is this debate on temperature, LEDs heat up less, you can get closer to the plants resulting in higher ppf/dli values than HPS, BUT, using a suitable cooltube system, HPS heat up less than LEDs, and you can get even 20cm from the glass without burning it, exponentially increasing the light power!
    Is there any test on PPF/DLI with HPS + cooltube at 20/30cm distance?
    It would be interesting to see an impartial comparison of the 2 technologies compared in the best of their setups, and for HPS the best setup is equivalent to having them in cooltube attached to the direct air extraction system.
    Of course without a cooltube the temperature produced by the HPS is an extremely important and limiting factor in the equation, but if with the HPS you can eliminate the temperature problem from the equation simply by using the cooltube, this cannot be done with LEDs, the hot air produced remains in the growroom rather than being instantly carried out of the room as with the HPS+coolbutes, resulting in an overall increase in the temperature of the growroom as much if not more than with the HPS.

    • @WeTheGrowers
      @WeTheGrowers  6 місяців тому +6

      Stacking nutrients in the substrate is achieved through using high frequency irrigation events to build up the optimal level of nutrients for the plant in the stage of growth that you're in. With a raw powder like the Pro Line, the EC needs to be built up specific ranges throughout the plants life. Establishing a good irrigation strategy using moisture content sensors to hit perfect dry backs would be ideal.

    As a Nectar grower, I understand that different inputs raise different terpenes. Fish bone meal increases VSCs, hog bone meal increases "herbal" terps, cow bone meal increases all terps in a well-rounded fashion, and feather meal increases fruity terps. Guano can increase a specific terpene, "guanine" I think it's called. It helps to get familiar with a genetic and experiment with different inputs.
