    A few viewers have mentioned that in the past they have had a problem removing the valves after a long period on the tyre. A recommendation to help prevent this is to apply a coating of copper slip to the valve stem before installing the sensor.

    Got this system, worked out of the box, fitted to twin axle Adria, no problem with a signal to the dash mounted display on my Q7. Only solar needed to power it, so no dangling cables needed. Thanks for the review and the link to a real bargain. Interesting to see the pressure increase from 65psi on the move, goes up to 73psi on a hot day and hot tarmac. Just shows what the temperature increase does to pressures.
    Great channel you have here, real world, comprehensive and honest reviews,.

    Came across your channel last week and really enjoyed your videos! Really like this tyre pressure gadget. My car has one built in and need to get this for the Motorhome!
    Great Video!👌🏽

    Just bought one after seeing your video. I've looked at these earlier and your link is about half the price others were asking. Thanks for your help.
    PS another user said that the locking screw rusted on and he could not remove the sensor, so I'm not going to bother with the security nut. Cheers.

      Hi John, thanks - I hope it works as well for you as mine are.
      I'm not sure if it was the securing nut or the actual valve that some people have had corrode on this is a problem anywhere that two dissimilar metals touch, I've put a thin coat of copper grease on the thread of the tyre valve before putting both the sensor and the locking nut on, just to make sure they don't corrode on. I'll also be checking them every month or so just in case.

    Think its actually quite a good idea! Just extra piece of mind - the last thing you want is a blowout due to low pressure

      Totally agree, to be fair I thought it was a bit of a gimmick but now having used them for a few a weeks I can see the piece of mind and the safety it could bring (particularly if you’re like me and forget to check your pressures regularly).

    I like your channel, good non-nonsense reviews of value products.
    How about reviewing a banggood dashcam?
    Cheers.

    I bought a similar one from Amazon, probably exactly the same, but a year later one of the sensors is way out, plus I've heard stories about them rusting onto the tyre valve stem.

    • @ExploreVanUK
      @ExploreVanUK  3 роки тому

      Thanks for the tip! I’ll keep an eye on the long term accuracy when I fit one permanently to the van.
      The sensors appear to be well sealed and the threading looks like brass so I can’t see them rustingand I’ll keep an eye on the locking nuts. Probably worth making sure to remove them periodically to check.

      They could kind of ‘weld’ themselves on. It’s the reaction between dissimilar metals. I’ve had this issue with them fancy metallic dust caps, they won’t come off!
      Use some silicon grease on the threads, or maybe a smear of Vaseline would be ok

    what is the max range from the valve to the monitor ? i want to use it to keep on eye on the tyre pressures on the car i tow behind the motorhome...

    • @ExploreVanUK
      @ExploreVanUK  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Stuart, someone asked a similar question above. I have not tested the maximum yet but will try too. This morning I quickly did a test with the sensor 20 metres from the display unit with 2 cars in the way of the signal and the low pressure warning came through as soon as I removed the valve.

    Of all the 1000s of electronic devices made in China this one actually makes sense, surprised cars don't have them fitted from new (some do, but my old run-a-round)
    peace of mind and safety at a glance,

    Great vlog thanks 🙏 what do you think the range would be? I would like to fit it to my caravan, the rear tyre is 7.5 metres from my dash. Could you do a quick test please? Many thanks 👍

      No worries, just took the display unit approx 20 metres from car with 2 cars in between the sensor and the display unit and then took off a sensor. Alarm sounded straight away so you should be fine. 👍

    My van tires nominal pressure is 5.5 bars (80 psi), the product information page is contradictory: on one hand it says it's adequate up to 6 bars, but later it says it can be used up to 3.5 bars. If it really works up to 6 bars maybe it's enough (though it's possible the pressure increases over 6 bars while driving), but if it's 3.5 it's definitely insufficient.
    I found one on aliexpress that supposedly works up to 99psi (6.8 bars) but I don't like it (it's gold plated, ouch) and has no reviews (not that I trust reviews but ...).
    Most other tpms units that go over 6 bars are for trucks with 6 wheels.

      Yeah it does seem there’s some variation our van tyres are 65 PSI and the version we have been working ok on those.

    Hi, what am I doing wrong? Based on this review I purchased 2 of these, 1 for my car and 1 for my motor home. I fitted the first to my car and when switched on none of the pressure or temperature read outs came on. I went through the set up menu but still no luck. I took off the sensors as they obviously weren’t linking either and fitted the second set and switched the associated monitor on. Again the same issue. None of the pressure or temperature read outs came on. Have I missed some set up as the demo video implies not.

      @ExploreVanUK  3 роки тому

      Hi John, it sounds like you have done exactly what I did, so I don't think you are missing any steps. Mine worked as soon as they were put on, (I've now also bought a second set which also worked out of the box).
      The only thing I can think of is to try replacing the battery in the sensors just on the off chance they have gone flat.
      I'd drop the seller a query first though to see if they want to send replacements / or maybe refund the costs of a new set of batteries.
      (I just had quick look and looks like you can get 5 batteries for around £1.90)
      I hope they get it sorted for you!

      @ExploreVanUK  3 роки тому

      Just having reread your note - not sure it will make a difference but I had the monitor switched on before I attached the sensors - might be worth a try.

    • @john5578
      @john5578 3 роки тому

      @@ExploreVanUK many thanks for getting back. I will do as you suggest and contact the supplier. Not sure it’s a battery problem as would have thought that zero pressure would have been registered at least but will try.

    • @ExploreVanUK
      @ExploreVanUK  3 роки тому

      I suspect if the battery is dead it will just not register at all, as the display won't know the sensor has been attached to a tyre.
      If I remember correctly my display showed dashes until the sensor was "pressured up" which I guess switched the sensor on.
      Do let me know the outcome and I'll feedback to Banggood

    yay ... ! balancing ???

    • @ExploreVanUK
      @ExploreVanUK  2 роки тому

      They are pretty light so I can’t see it making a huge difference and I’ve not noticed any wobble on either of the vehicles I have with them on. But when I had tyres changed I asked them to balance with the sensors on.
