  • Hi again,
We fitted the ‪@ichecktpms‬ 5 sensor system to our 2012 BT50 prior to heading off on our adventure a few months ago. After 15,000 klm traveled, through some wild terrain, we have compiled an honest review from unboxing, to fitting, to driving and what stayed on the ute for the whole trip!
Sam at iCheck TPMS has been great with customer service. We saw this on a video from ‪@SarahandKeelanTravels‬ and used their affiliate discount code (thanks guys). After purchase, the product arrived in Tweed Heads from Victoria, within days! Super quick and well packaged to ensure it was safe.
    * This is an honest, tested video and review. We have NOT received any endorsement from iCheck TPMS or payment to compile and publish this review. Other than the small discount code from Sarah & Keelen Travels, we paid for this.*
Bottom line - Is it worth it?
YES! 100% Yes and we weren't even towing. Very much a necessity for towing. We saw a lot of blow out after effects from those who didn't recognise a tyre leak in time on their caravan or vehicle. The 5 sensor system can be upgraded to accomodate a caravan later, this is what we may be doing as we contemplate more travel in a van next year :)
As Molly Meldrum would say 'Do yourself a favour and check this out!'

I got the 5 sensor kit along with a signal booster for my van (the Ranger has built in TPMS).
I first seen these on another video where a fellow fitted them to his $100k+ 300 Series Landcruiser. I was somewhat taken aback that TPMS isn't a standard fit for a car that costs north of that sort of dough.
But I digress. I've yet to fit the system to the van, so, seeing these reviews helps allay any fears of buyer's remorse.
The van has TPMS as supplied by the manufacturer using the BM Pro System. They work, but rely on you having an app called Oddessy bluetooth connected to a module INSIDE the van. Of course, as soon as you step outside of it the app disconnects and you can't see the TPMS any more.
SO, I got the iCheck TPMS to replace it.

Awesome. Our BT50 is 2012 so didn't have built in, good to know the Rangers do though. Here's hoping your kit works well. These are a great prevention tool for travelers.

I found this company good to deal with. I had some questions about an older version of this system for our Hilux and caravan. I contacted the company, more for a clarification and assistance than anything else, and, out of good will, they are sending me the newest version to fit.

Thanks for the review. A question please? How much time do they add to the processes of deflating and re-inflating tyres?

    • @bradnallyadventures
      @bradnallyadventures  Рік тому +1

Hi, the first few times I was getting used to them so took a little extra time to make sure all was fitted properly.
Though after several deflates and inflates, the time is about the same as a normal cap. Only difference may be the lock nut. It may need to come off to fit your tyre deflator/inflator on. Otherwise it’s the same 👍

Dont bother with this over priced tpms. My monitor battery only lasted 18 months. Advised by icheck not covered under warranty and that 18 months is acceptable and proceeded to offer me another monitor for $99!
These have a cheap chinese lithium polymer battery which can be purchased for about $3.
So disappointed after supporting this aussie company.

@drewpeacock2529 - Shame you had this issue. Have heard a few bad comments, though I’ve heard them about many varied products. Fortunately, we have not had any issues with ours, the battery went flat while it was garaged for a week, I just had to cable charge it then the solar keeps it up daily.
Either way, TPMS is a valuable addition, I guess it’s just finding one that suits, and works 🤓

@@bradnallyadventures sounds like your battery is on its way out as well. Their website say 30+ days on one full charge. I'd expect it to die completely soon.

I find them useless and a hindrance. The only time they are good is when it alerts you to a flat tire.

Luckily we haven't had that alert yet, but that is exactly why we got them, to be aware. They were a pain at the start, but got used to them quickly and now they go on and off easily

Useless is a good term to use for them. Both the deflators and the pressure check system are very inaccurate. Not worth the money in my opinion. I don't even try to use the deflators anymore as you have to set each individual one to different pressures to get your tyres to the same pressure.
I'm the same I only use the system for the low pressure alarm and take no notice of what pressure they tell me as I know they are 3-5 psi out.
