ya know what would be cool,is when andy does a review of a new kit,and then have a random drawing for a giveaway of the actual kit he was using in the review, but then again he might not be allowed to,but still, how awesome would that be? Gorgeous kit though
Yeah that'll be his free gift for part payment for the review I'd expect
StuG life, baby!
I am absolutely impressed by the level of detail on the parts and the accessories that come in this kit. It is so nice to be able to purchase a single kit and have everything that is needed for a great finished model. All that PE, the metal barrel, and the crew are usually aftermarket accessories that are near impossible to source from a single place. Absolutely setting a standard with this kit that I hope other manufacturers see and start doing as well. Thanks Andy!
Now they need to start adding glue and paint to these kits
I'd just received my pre-ordered AHHQ Border StuG III Ausf-G on Christmas Eve!...-It was WELL worth the wait with all the shipping & Long Beach Port delays...
It looks to be an IMPRESSIVE KIT indeed. Cant wait to build her up!
~Thanks Andy & Co!....;)
What an incredible time to get into modeling. What an incredible kit. Even the box art is first rate.
It surprising to see how far the technology has gone, from when I built my first tank model in 1974.
Thank you Andy for showing us the contents of a much-anticipated kit! It is VERY impressive looking kit, with clear, detailed instructions!👍👍 That's a good sign, as Border Models will need to be at the top of their game to match the impeccable molding, detail, fit, and accuracy of today's Miniart & RFM kits, including Minart's & RFM's versions of the StuG III with full interior. It's nice to see that Border has provided extra goodies to enhance the base model, including the figures. My only wish is that the upper hull & casemate had been made out of transparent plastic, as all that wonderful detail will be difficult to see otherwise...perhaps Border will come out with a special edition in the future? 🙏
i absolutely cant wait for this. im starting to really like border especially since all the accessories that come with it.
your favorite album....clockwork angels?
@@stevenpiper970 no I don't know what that is but I'm gonna check it out now
FINALLY! I have been waiting for this kit for AGES! Thanks Andy!
Great video as always Andy, I just got mine delivered via mail, and the same piece that was loose in yours was in mine. Looks like a truly fun build, I am waiting on some metal tracks, I'm also happy with the instructions as they seem fairly easy to follow, I also recently got the RFM Jagdpanther G2 but the instructions are much less clear.
Thanks for sharing Andy, this does look an outstanding and very well engineered kit.
Thanks, Andy. A great insight into what's in the kit. A lot of detail, especially as it's "only" 1/35th scale ! As a suggestion, can you shoot a video or ten (!) about the tools, paints and how to/techniques you use ? eg; what's the airbrush you use, and why ? They needn't be 30-40 minutes long, like your kit reviews. But it would give insight into those areas of question. Thanks.
Incredible Andy !!
Way to go !!
Great video and gorgeous kit!! Excellent!!🎉
Here's a hint for builders: there's a mistake in the instructions regarding the two transformers for the radio transmitters.
We should be attaching them to the side walls at Step 45 (17:06) but they are not shown at all.
And yet, at 17:33, we see them attached to the finished unit.
Great news! Glad they chose to correct the kit and not just rush it out.
I've made a couple of RFM full interior models, and they are great builds that keep you busy for quite some time. I am sure this one is an excellent kit also. The only problem I have is how the model and its interior can be best displayed otherwise the majority of the build ends up hidden.
Hey my preorder might arrive before a year after my purchase lol
It's great that Border took the time to make things right, that's the sign of a company that does it right :)
Andy, that is one good looking kit. With the M4a3E8 in 1/16, this could fill my Christmas list. Looking forward to a build video.
I got my kit yesterday and started building it right away. The kit appears to be a late 44 early 45 Alkett final production with some MIAG parts. I am using references for January 1945 for mine. A few notes for those that may be interested. The tracks need to be upgraded to either Type 6a or 6b with or without cleats, I bought some TRex 6a w/cleats from Andy. The fire extinguisher is also an earlier version with two straps, the strap at the bottom needs to be removed or replaced with TRex version which Andy also carries. The screen over the intakes is also the incorrect cross hatching for Alkett and Rochm makes the correct version. The kit also does not include the chain and spring for the travel lock. Side note Alkett mounts the travel lock chain and spring towards the top, MIAG towards the bottom. Reference photos will clarify that detail. MIAG uses the welded type mantlet and intakes screens provided. If you change the stamped fender mounts for the welded tube type, you can build a MIAG instead. Dragon seems to have them in an abundance of their Stug kits. Also use the steel ribbed return rollers without lightening holes.
Awesome and I have a original Panzer badge from WW2 looks exactly like it can't wait to see a build video
Lks like it's going to be worth the wait!
Just got mine ...The instruction booklet is setup easier to read and the pictures look larger than in other manuals. A good reference for other kits!
Get em Andy! Great looking kit! Hopefully my wife will let me buy one from you. Love you Andy take care.
It's the KODIAC we need then to start working on now hobbyboss have the Buffel out with partial interior! I've got thay and the leopard Bridge layer I'm away to start
Look very good
I just preordered this kit from your site. Can’t wait!!!
It's called the "saukopf" mantlet.
Absolutely awesome!
Metal barrel and shells are also first batch only bonus
Also very surprised that badge has an actual swastika on it instead of a censored cross
I preordered it from Andy on Jan 17th. Good to hear something about it.
The CAD of this model was completed in February 2020 😛
Verry nice kit its on my list 4 my birthday now on 28 okt.
Just noticed that are only 5 PE30 when there should be 6. (these are brackets for holding up the radios)
Another must have kit. It will go well with my Panther and King Tiger with full interiors. Just don’t tell my wife.
Well we have a progress. Now they add clear parts. Maybe we can see a front light in clear plastic next time?
Yeah it's all us on Facebook saying that's inaccurate this is wrong that fender supports MIAG on an Alkett for example haha but glad it's finally out along as its not as much as a disappointment as there Luchs I was waiting so long for then finally got it and OMG it's awful 😖!
Pretty amazing kit
I've built RFMs full interior stugs and miniarts all in the time been waiting for this! Fingers crossed the fitment is as good as the detail! Bet I've just jinxed it lol
Hi, I was wondering if you've built the kit by now. I was looking to buy one, but I've read the fit isn't great on some parts. Do you agree with that? How is your overall opinion on the kit?
A Lot of Parts! But loocks Great!
looking forward to their early version of the stugIII
It's a strange fact that, of all the manufacturers offering Stug.G with interior, nobody that I know about has an officially correct radio configuration.
This kit, for example, gives the vehicle two complete FuG.5 radios. That's physically possible but it has no obvious role in the German organisational structure. You're supposed to have a FuG.5 and optionally a FuG.2
Definitely going to get this
Are you going to do a build video? Very impressive kit.
I havent built any models for about 25 years, with the exception of houses etc for my 00 gauge railway. I dont think i could afford it these days.
Had it on pre order gave up and had a credit from the supplier. It was too long a wait! - 1:16 is the way forward for me on Stug
Awesome 👍
Forty-six weeks!
Today makes 1 year since pre-ordering. 🤪
I wonder whether Border will do a Panther G. I would look forward to that!
Thanks for the unboxing it looks awesome thanks for the video. 🙂Thomas over at The Model Hobbyist
Thanks Andy, that looks a peach of a kit. Can I get this one in the UK via mail order?
Boy that 1/16 scale box is HUGE is the background.
Nice Kit, Man!
That's a project!
...даааааааа- border соооздают ооотличные наборы!...
what happened to the Tank factory diorama I guess I missed the final video ???
Curious. Can you compare Boredermodels stug to similar model by RFM?
I do like your kit reviews Andy but I prefer your kit builds more, are your builds only available to patreons now?
What does that mean 'side molded'?
Hmm it looks a little bit flashy, bit of burring and some kinda nasty placed ejection pins tbh. It looks nice but it also looks to be a bit of work.
Hope it’s better than there Tiger 1
Looks damned fine to me; think I’ll be parting with some cash…! I’m amazed they shipped the badge with a swastika considering how touchy people are towards it in some parts of the world (more than others)
HEY MODEL COMPANIES! There are way too many StuG. IIIGs on the market now, as it is. How about something different, such as a StuG. IIIF.
Great kit! I love kits like this, can you please give me the price for it?
--- мнооогие,многие позади...
Hi Andy. Any word on their Conning Tower kit release?
Just tried to preorder but the kit is sold out. Does that mean there will be no more production of this kit?
Wow! Still more errors in this kit. Step 41 shows the assembly of the three radio modules. Each has a PE bracket attached to end for mounting to the hull side. So that's three radios, two brackets each for a total of six brackets. Guess how many brackets are on the PE sheet...five! How is an error like that made?? Has anyone at Broder Models tried to build this kit? Maybe not.
I do not like yheir individual tracks, holes are finr, but the wires or bolts are so fragil, they break while pushing them in. The 'frame' provided doesnt fit the tracks, so had build my own. Stug 3 in n. africa I
Length and link prob good
Just a comment for the algorithm
Be nice to make a diorama and sit that badge into it
Lovely looking well engineered kit. However the price tag does reflect this at around £80. Unless Santa is kind to me I will just have to look at this review and drool.
You've spoiled me for 1/16. I can't get excited for 1/35 anymore.
Odd choice to actually make and give away something with the swastika on it. I mean I get it, the significance of the pin, but to make an actual product with that on it.. 🤨 This ain't some decal for the accuracy of the model.
Do a review of the Border Model leaf maker punch please.
I've got one, it works great. It punches through paper and actual leaves with no issues.
