Haven't tested it but it should work fine as it is the same connection as if you plug in wired earbuds with a mic. The connection on the Irig Pre is the same as that (TTRS)
Thanks I was looking about the differece of quality between one and the other, thank you. Now my question will be, what about the iRig Pre HD? there exists a big improvment in the quality of sound or not much?. Thanks bro.
Is this audio processed or dry? Do you have any tips or settings you could share ? im using irig pre HD and wondering if I should have got this device instead because it is analog which has less latency then digital. However I tried along time ago one of the irig microphones also using analog like the pre and the sound quality was muffled and awful. But you sound good in this video! So either the pre has great audio quality or your settings are gold
Hi matthaberek, I've just seen this. There was no processing of the audio during the tests. It comes down to... 1. the quality of the mic you use in the first place if you want great audio. 2. Also, I find that the device you plug into can affect the audio as some headphone/mic sockets on certain devices have poor preamps built in. I did this on a MacBook which has good enough pre-amps but some phones or other computers reduce the quality.
Well the signal is adjustable on the iRig Pre so you can turn it up as much as you need to and test to see how to get optimal levels going in. I know there are mics out there with a super low signal that needs a device like a Cloudlifter in between to boost it. Each mic is different so there's no way to know until you try it.
@Marlon McPherson thank you for your help. I have everything set up and waiting on the Klark to show today. I actually went live on my channel last night and the family said it sounded good was very happy with the performance non amped, and I am curious how amped will sound. Very happy with the minimalist setup through my Samsung S21 Ultra phone and how functional it actually is for everything 🙌
Hi I am Behzad From Sweden. Thanks for shooting this video . I play keyboard 🎹 and i wanna records video by my Android phone usb C. Pro i/o or iRig HD2 which one better ? Thanks
Hi Behzad. Glad the video was helpful. They both have digital connections so you'll get high quality. It will depend on what mic you want to connect as the HD2 doesn't seem to use XLR connection while the i/o does. Personally, I would go with the Pro i/o
I hope this helps you if you're on the fence about getting the iRig PRE 2. Drop me a comment if you have any questions 😉
Thank You!
Does your irig pre 2 make a short, loud beep when turned on the first time you connect it to your smartphone?

Thanks for the video. But does the Irig2 do have an indicator for battery level? Or also not. Missed it in the comparising.
No it doesn't either. Cheers
Mine makes a beeping sound when the battery is low

Yes, the pre 2 is superior there
@@Rck-vertOh,,, then I will need explore this model , thank you.
Great video!
Can I run a Dynamic Rode Podmic through the Irig pre 2 into my phone to record UA-cam videos. Will it have good enough output ?
