- This is my overview and review of the IK Multimedia iRig Pre 2, the updated version of their iRig Pre preamplifier. It provides a single mono balanced XLR input to an unbalanced 3.5mm TRRS (and TRS) jack for connecting balanced professional microphones to devices such as older iPhones & iPads, camcorders, DSLRs and mirrorless cameras.
Newer iPhones/iPads without a headphone jack need the Apple headphone to Lightning connector.
At time of uploading, I cannot find the product on Amazon, only the original version. But see www.ikmultimedia.com/products... in the meantime.

Good review. I was hoping to hear some
Music when you picked up the instrument! Hope you’re having a nice break.
Hey, I played one out of tune note! 😂
thank you
You're welcome
Thanks David for a straight to the point video. Is it possible to connect irig pre 2 to the laptop.
If your laptop has a microphone jack then yes but generally laptops have poor quality audio interfaces so you'd ruin the good quality from the irig. There's another version of the irig that outputs to USB which would be much a better option as that irig does the analogue to digital conversion.
Yea my first observation and reservation is this wobbly wiggle and non-locking input it's seems flimsy am wondering how it's gonna hold up and stay connected maybe some wrapping with lots of electric tape would solve its problem and creat e new problem of messy tape sticky yuck. Asking the same question why the loose fitting is there something missing I guess not it comes that way, and sort of like weak anyway agreed it should lock.
is all audio of this video recorded irig?
Yes, I think it was if I remember rightly (except as indicated on screen)
@@TubeShooterMag how is the noise floor on the irig?
@J Cap I don't have any tools to measure it scientifically but I found it to be a very clean, quiet device. I think Curtis Judd has also done a review in it and he normally runs some tests. He also found it very decent, especially for the price.
It does not work with android usb type c system even if you use the adapter
Why is it making a buzzing sound
It won't, normally. A buzz would suggest some kind of group loop from an earth not being properly connected somewhere, or your system picking up interference from mains wiring nearby.
