      In my opinion, our culture has become increasingly shallow. The other aspect is that big budget movies don't take risks any more, in order to maximize their profit margin. So we end up with art that isn't true unadulterated expression, but simply a business. Perhaps they're the cause of our culture being shallow, because our entertainment is shallow. And that's what influences us from early on. I think we've lost touch with the things that matter.

      Time changes everything. This movie was a product of the 80's and we no longer live there. Appreciate the fact that we got this movie at all. You can't make a movie exactly like this in a different space. You can't make a desert movie on the ocean.

    I am in my mid-30's and by all rights shouldnt have any knowledge on Jon Anderson let alone this obscure song. But I have to say that I absolutely love this song. Jon's vocals absolutely blow me away in this song. I loved this movie as a kid and happened to find the sound track for sale on some bargain table years ago and I bought it on a whim. I couldnt tell you how many times I listened to this song over and over and over.
    Jon's vocals are sorely underappreciated by so many. I wish I could sing like him. At about 3:44, this song really illustrates how awesome his voice is.
    My kids think I am weird for liking this music, but its just so awesome that I cant ignore it.

    • @mikereiss4216
      @mikereiss4216 3 роки тому

      Why should you have no knowledge of Jon Anderson? Unless you only listen to current music or don't listen to rock(let a lone progressive rock) I wouldn't think that's the case. Jon has one of the most recognizable voices in rock.

    • @Embrachu
      @Embrachu 2 роки тому +2

      Certainly you know that Jon Anderson was a lead vocal for the rock group "YES", with many well-known hits like "Owner Of A Lonely Heart", "Love Will Find A Way", "Changes", "Leave It", "It cCan Happen", "Rythmn Of Love", etc...
      Not to mention, Jon's also done solo projects.

    • @graziaguerrini6375
      @graziaguerrini6375 2 роки тому +1

      I don't think Jon's voice is underappreciated. He's objectively an excellent singer with a very distinctive voice, Of course there must be some people who may prefer a different type of voice. Jon has lots of appreciators, personally I would put him in my list of 5 favourite singers. He never sings out of tune and his voice is so suitable for songs like Legend. I think some Yes albums are incredibly good and Jon is the icing on the cake of one of the best groups of musicians of the seventies.

    This is one of my favorite songs...in truth, I think it is something that has stayed in my heart since I was little. And it goes with the list of such movies like Conan and Red Sonya...

    Might be the most beautiful song I've ever heard. Haunting. It makes the movie, along with Curry's performance. Jon Anderson is from another realm, and to have Tangerine Dream and Jon do a song together is nirvana. It doesn't get any better than this song, which lives in its own time and space, a singular work of genius.

    Straight up tragedy to lose Edgar Froese today. Among the very elite of the pioneers of electronica, along with likes of Vangelis and Jean Michel Jarre. This particular piece, the intro for the movie Legend, was and is, in my humble opinion, one of the most beautiful tracks ever made. Thank you for the Electronic Dreams Edgar!

    I went to this when I was five and have probably watched it 100 times in 35 years. Absolute masterpiece in my opinion , the music is incredible, the story of good vs evil is stellar, the cast is near perfect, the 80s where so great . Now as a dad at 45 , watching with my kids and cant help but get emotional , and nostalgic at the same time.

    They could make a video game that follows the Legend storyline even more than Legends of Zelda. Actually tell the story through a RPG real-time action games like The Elder Scrolls series. Goblins, Elves, Faeries, undead mummies, Blix, Pocs, Blunder and Tic. Have a Tom Cruise-like character have to go from forests, valleys, mountains and to swamps and upgrading armor/weapons to fight the Lord Of Darkness and his goblins. Just a thought.
