First of all: I am not a composer. But I like good music, so I post my opinion here: Composing was in that time was different, then it is now. Nowadays we got a lot of "cheap" music to please the publishers an make money. None of this will prevail over time. Instead, all good composers will always be remembered in future times. The generations to come will still be listening to Vangelis and Enricio Moricone and a few others. Just like Beethoven, Mozart and others are still valued today. I'm thankful that I was alive when Morrricione, Vangelis, and a few others released their music for the first time. It was mind blowing,,,, Thank you, Legends!

An astonishingly effective and stirring score. A really beautiful work. The drama of that closing scene, titles and MUSIC. Just amazingly haunting and perfectly done throughout.
I've got a strong emotional attachment to this film and its gorgeous music. I was married and living in the Arctic when I first saw it. Beginning here at 19:35, my wife and I couldn't get enough of that theme. Living so far north, we used to dream of one day visiting Tahiti. It never happened, but I'm still in awe of The Bounty as an exquisite entertainment experience. "Never see England again." What a powerful scene!
When I listen to the original soundtrack of The Bounty you here a much lamer version of this song. This version by Vangelis is so much better. Compare for yourself: ua-cam.com/video/uOhhfy7DU20/v-deo.html . I think Dominik Hauser just rearranged the compositions of Vangelis. I just don't get why though cause Vangelis' compositions are miles better.
I listened to that portion, the end credits, as I took off on an Air New Zealand flight from Los Angeles to Fiji in 2003. Though a seasoned traveler I was a bit anxious as it was 23:30 and I’d never flown over the Pacific before, it was pitch black the whole way across and I knew there was nowhere to land for the next six hours at least. I was a little scared. But listening to this as we left lax, knowing I was heading to the South Pacific for the first time as cook and Bligh did made me feel better, like it was an exciting adventure ❤️

The end credits piece sounds pretty similar to 'Horizon' by Jon & Vangelis too (from the album, "Private Collection"). Recorded just before 'The Bounty'.
How the fuck did Vangelis come up with the kind of music he came up with, having been born here in Greece, in a totally different music environment, is astonishing even more so than the fact that he was mostly self taught. And if you check just how many iconic, unforgettable tunes he's produced and at what age (he wasnt even 40 when he made Charriots of Fire), and thats not even taking Aphrodite's Child into account. The very definition of a divine gift

This represents a very high point in Vangelis’s film work. Not that any of his film work was bad, but I think The Bounty stands out above others in the repertoire. There is a wonderful passion in everything he writes, and it is a very stark reminder of what music is about in the first place.

The previous Bounty movies were good but I absolutely love how this movie tells this story. The falling out of friendship between Bligh and Christian in this version was heartbreaking. Bligh was not unkind and he was reasonable, he invested his fortune in this expedition and Christian behaved like a spoiled brat on the island but in the end his eyes show he regretted everything and chose "the wrong boat".
@@TiredOldDude Yes I think that as well. I read an adapted version of Bligh's own published account of the expedition and I didn't really get the idea that he behaved in an unbecoming manner, especially for what was the norm at the time. Actually Blight was on a trial to find out the reason of mutiny. In the view of Admirality that was a real reason for such desperate deed of half of crew.He was cleared but got bad fame and his career was over. The music really correspond to the clime of the situation surrounding the ship'd voyage and boost the emotion very well.
Viva Vangelis...!

About 20 years ago I became hooked on the Bounty story and did so much research ,, then I found this Gem and quite literally lost my my mind,, I would watch the movie every night and,,, seriously the Movie and soundtrack is one of the best things that ever happened to me,, I would recommend this to anyone.
totally I agree this is amazing Documentary that for sure
Actually Blight was on a trial to find out the reason of mutiny. In the view of Admirality that was a real reason for such desperate deed of half of crew.He was cleared but got bad fame and his career was over. The music really correspond to the clime of the situation surrounding the ship'd voyage and boost the emotion very well.
I completely agree. This sound gets in your soul. And its so more in tune with the real event.
Viva Vangelis...!
Amazing score - unbelievable the full soundtrack has never been officially released... it's almost criminal
Vangelis play God music❤️❤️❤️
vangelis the master
Heard this today after buying the record "Themes" - Vangelis. Never heard these records, the end theme is out of this world.
Watch the film if you haven’t seen it, it’s absolutely fantastic and utterly underrated!!!
This movie has David Lean’s fingerprints all over it. In fact he was supposed to direct it and it would have been his last film but he ended up directing A Passage To India instead
I prefer this version over the one in the best of "themes". The drums in it make it better, it adds rythmn and deepness.
MAGICIAN VANGELIS
Unforgattable Vangelis! The legend!
GRACIAS POR MYTHODEA..Y MUCHAS OBRAS MÁS..
40 YEARS AFTER STILL GOOD MOVIE

Cheers for the upload, very hard soundtrack to track down. Great sound quality also. Such an underrated film.
Pour moi Reste l' une des plus belle musique de Cinéma Créer , et joué par Vangélis .Avec 1492 Christophe Colomb . Vangélis , mon musicien , mon maitre depuis 40 ans . Fabuleux .

Excellent with a spatial sound and echoes large.
Form France
I saw this movie when it came out and didn't realize it was scored by Vangelis. This sounds a lot like "Antarctica".
top . .just the top music and film .
The most addicting score by Vangelis! The movie is also excellent!
La música de Vangelis refleja con maestria el drama de ésta historia. Bellisima banda de sonido.
AMAZING ,INCREIBLE
Music was excellent in this movie, beautifully done. I listen often to the music from "The Bounty". I also like looking at Mel Gibson then, so gorgeous, just had to say that, lol.

And to see him perform all that in real time is so impressive and beautiful.
Truly magical evocation of the beauty and mystery of the South seas
