What is engine error code P1656 and how to repair Toyota VVT-i system issue

I've been experiencing the same problem with my 2004 Corolla vvt-i, I didn't replace the sensor but repairing the bad connection on vvt-i sensor has fixed the problem. Thx @Peter Finn.

i have toyta vitz 20004 ,the problem p 1656 and p1755 ,and on borad engine light come some times and off after 3 minuts , and the car at acceleration stop but the high speed not stop its stop when at slow motion ,pleas ur idea

Thank you Peter. I had the p1656 code, then while under acceleration from a stop sign, The car became weak temporarily and I got a p1349. I replaced the oil control valve sensor like you did in this video. The p1349 went away, but the p1656 code is still there. What do you recommend next?

Hi, Have you check all these 4 things:
1 Faulty Oil Control Valve (OCV)
2 Oil Control Valve (OCV) harness is open or shorted
3 Oil Control Valve (OCV) circuit poor electrical connection
4 Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM)

Hello Peter! My Toyota MR2 Spyder 1.8vvti has a P1349 code. I have cleaned and checked the OCV Solenoid and the oilfilter and both were clean. Is my vvti cam gear broken? And how do I replace it? Maybe you can do a video about p1349. I see many people on forums with this problem :)

Peter let me ask you something. What is it that people are truly coming to your site for? A link has given them a video to a code they have on the vehicle.
The greatest majority of people who will leave with a happy face to your instruction will be the one who got the info quickly to repair their vehicle.
"Most" people able to diagnose codes on their car, already have the ability to get to any part you may be featuring.
To the point/part with less jabber gives you much more likes. Close-ups of your job keeping the viewer in mind just might get ya some subscribers:)
