I agree that this interview was fascinating start to finish. I had never seen her in a long form interview before, and Ezra asked great questions and didn't interrupt her responses. I’m gonna admit that I used to not like Nancy Pelosi, I thought she was too comfortable in her position and not willing to fight for real changes. I also thought some of the insider trading critics were a problem. But this year Nancy Pelosi completely changed my mind and I actually have so much respect for her (not that she needs my respect I’m nobody). Pelosi saw the polling and saw a huge loss coming for the Dems, the people spoke and said they weren’t excited about Joe. Whether she acted to back up our voices or acted for personal reasons at the end of the day she took action and pressured him to drop out and we got what we wanted. She also told Kamala to pick Walz instead of Shapiro, which was shocking because Shapiro is very corporate and center dem and Walz is more progressive. This year will go down in the history books as the year Nancy Pelosi saved America 🇺🇸
Not that shocking if she was reading the polls and listening to what people were saying. People are tired of the corporate dem type that Shapiro is. Pelosi knew that. She prefers her party to win more than having the person she might like more like Shapiro, so pushed for Walz.

Perhaps the most interesting and relevant political interview I have ever watched. It’s pretty rare that us normal people get to hear the actual nitty gritty details of political maneuvering, especially in an era where republicans are so blatantly and disturbingly obstructionist
Ezra, thank you so much for posing interesting questions in a brief way and letting Pelosi give full answers. Oh, and I think that "intuition" thing is strongly based on her political training at home, essentially doing a lot of bookkeeping for her father. So many people today have no idea what that era's machine politics meant. But she lived it. And she knows how to count, and knows who needs what to survive politically.
Nancy sees herself as a weaver, looking at all of the diversity in the democrat party with many differences, but all knowing why they are democrats. She looks at all of them with respect and let's them know she needs all of them to weave this tapestry and make something beautiful. That is so wonderful and insightful to hear. Its so creative and artistic with humanity and reverence for everyone and the fight for the highest values. Just outstanding. 🎉
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Pramila Jayapal and other women of color would like to have a word on that. It’s been widely reported that the former speaker hasn’t been great, fair, let alone respectful to a lot of the younger legislators like AOC.
I think it took her a while to get there. I think she underrated progressives for 6 to 10 years too long and saw them as a "fringe" group long past the point when they were a small but non-fringe group of voters.
Not being American, but more idealistically progressive, I never appreciated Nancy.....till today. Wow. Have I been missing out on a wonderful American Icon.

Learning more about Pelosi has given me a greater appreciation for the organizational purpose of leading a party, because at the end of the day someone still needs to have the skill to gather a coalition to actually pass stuff. I think there are a lot of overly-online people who are dismissive of anyone who isn't progressive enough, without following how government actually works.
What a wonderful wonderful woman! so charismatic and indpiring
inspiring!
I may disagree with quite a lot of Pelosi's stances, but you cannot deny she is good at her job. That's part of why Republicans hate her, is she is a strong whip for her party. Which can be upsetting when she is at odds with what I want the Democratic Party to do but I can see now why she kept getting re-elected to Congress as much as she did.
This is over the top! I love Nancy Pelosi!
Why would you love someone like her who cares nothing about you or the country.
@@dave0051she absolutely cares…and far, far more than trump!
Trump cares about power, money, attention, praise. Is that what you are? A provider of one of those for him?!?
@@Alphacentauri819 bahahaha my God you people are delusional.
@@Alphacentauri819 she's a gd criminal. You want to know how much she cares? Go visit her shit filled district. Go look at the needles and drugs and open drug use. The crime and homelessness of her district. San Francisco is a shit hole. The few businesses that have remained open have to lock up their products. Boy she cares so much. I was in San Francisco in 2000 and then again in 2023. It's not even the same place.
@@Alphacentauri819 All I know is my business and family were much better off under President Trump. It's not even close.
That was AMAZING! She is and all-star.
Strong.Intellectual.Woman!!!! Respect
Not her sitting at the edge of her seat as she talks about these topics! Shows her excitement and passion.
100 years from now, she will still be revered as legendary. Her political skill is level 10.
How can people hate her. She's wonderful!
She made me cry at the end "Proof thru the night that our flag is still there" 😭
Yes, that was a telling phrase. And the lyrics, I realize now, reference the attack on its Fort McHenry during the War of 1812. Heartfelt!
Ditto
Lady Gaga’s singing of the Star Spangled Banner at Joe Biden’s inauguration keyed in on this very phrase. It’s chilling.
You could like her or not, but that's a very sharp, resourceful politician
She's the lady of such grace, I feel privileged to have been born to witness her alive even through the computer screen from the other side of the world.
An incredibly powerful and still very sharp woman. I have the utmost respect for Nancy Pelosi
LOVE YOU NANCY!! You look great!💙💙💙
What a beautiful person. I just love her.
What a great interview!
Remarkable woman and leader.
This is an historic interview
Wow. Her passion is palpable. She loves the game and it loves her. Madame speaker I hope your spirit will live on!
Nancy is one of the rare ones that we will always want to keep relevant. She is someone to admire and aspire to be.
Unbelievably great interview! I feel like I know what she's about now. Thank you.
Not being American, but more idealistically progressive, I never appreciated Nancy.....till today. Wow. Have I been missing out on a wonderful American Icon.
