Nope, just using my phone as the hotspot. I have had vehicle hotspots before and prefer to have one data contract without overlap. YMMV. cheers

Too much money when you have a tablet or phone that can connect to the truck's audio anyway. Just my opinion, you know how much that is worth haha.

Thanks for your opinion Jonathan. Really the biggest advantage of this unit is being able to install apps and project them to your screen, which would otherwise be prohibited by Android Auto or Apple Carplay. Otherwise I don't disagree with your opinion. cheers...

Nice. But it needs to be less than one hundred dollars. But it sure would be nice to have my Garage door opener app work from the 12 inch screen on my Lightning Pro (the Lightning Pro does not have built-in homelink garage door buttons.) I'll keep a price watch out on 3 camels.

Hey there is this still your recommendation as the best solution for this?
Also have you considered subscribing to the in vehicle WiFi (monthly plan? )I have not looked into it but have heard that is an option.
    Any thoughts ?

I would say that this is A SOLUTION but might not be the BEST solution. This is the only one that I stumbled across and it's definitely flawed. I don't know much about the monthly wifi plan; you'd have to compare that vs. what you can get with your own mobile carrier. I currently use Google Fi and am satisfied with it.
