- Modern Drummer visited Jason Hartless for a Tour Kit Rundown while on tour with Ted Nugent at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood Florida. He took us through his custom Pearl Crystal Beat drums and spoke a bit about his early drumming career.

I know Jason personally!! I first met him in February 2023 at a benefit gig he was doing with a few other known people!! Got to hang and work with him back in February at the last heavens wish gig as he was the fill in drummer for the original drummer who was sick!! He’s a very nice guy and so are his parents!! I was on the heavens wish crew as the guitar tech for stage left!! It was nice getting to know him!!
Jason rocks! One of the best rock drummers from Detroit for sure!

The liberal hate is real on here. I may not agree with someone's view point, but it absolutely shameful to see what society has turned to. Ted has his right to his opinion, just as much as a Lennon, Swift, Pink ect. Jason is merely playing a gig. Politics need not be involved.

Ted Nugent is a scum bag. He's also entitled to his scum bag opinions. When someone decides who they are going to work for/with, it says something about their standards. I for one could never work for a Nugent, or some of the metal bands that espouse racists tropes.
This all says nothing about ones ability to play the music at hand. You can be a great musician and a bigot, racist, Anti-Semite, homophobe, misogynist, jingoist, or ultra greedy corporatist.

Jacob, have you considered that Trump isn't hateful, and you're just a bunch of griping, hysterical idiots? The guy could reveal his favorite color and somehow offend millions of people.

They all sound good. I have a Ludwig vistalite. The harder the material, the longer it resonates. Go buy one, and you will know.

1974 Amboy dukes Ted Nugent Arrowhead stadium Kansas City Missouri the dude is so profound 10000 Watts you can hear the music 5 mi away they discontinued Ted Nugent because of his foul mouth he can't play Arrowhead stadium no more and I'm sure he probably got expelled from other places Nugent was well known for feedback extortions on stage he opened up for Blue oyster cult and then here comes Black oak Arkansas band these are back East tours

Jason, I’m so sorry you have to tour with Nugent. I sincerely hope you’re getting a paycheck big enough that it’ll help block out the memories of having to be around that hateful assholefor a whole tour.
We opened for Nugent a few years back, when Mick Brown was touring with him. Took me six months to get the smell of gunpowder outta my clothing.
