There's a thin line between genius and madness. That 1 guy has a foot in both camps. Briliant.
Brilliant*
*has a boot in both camps
I agree.
He definitely has to be one of the most original musicians around. One of the most enjoyable aspects of his live performances is that you can really tell that he loves what he's doing.
I just saw him in concert on the 29th of October 2022 and I cannot believe he's been preforming this song for so long - he is *SO MUCH* better at preforming now I had an AMAZING experience - I was gasping at every single thing he did
That 1 Guy is the only musician who I think I could honestly call a genius. There is just nothing else like him, by a long shot.
There are more musical geniuses out there for sure!
Look up the marble machine
Hes on Les Claypools level
@@malapertfourohfour2112 He's played with Claypool as well as Buckethead.
You need to listen to more variety of music. This world is currently and has had god like musicians. Unfortunately these days you could be the second coming of Mozart and nobody would care, music is not a meritocracy anymore.
It strangely reminds me of early NIN. Great sound. Great presentation. I'd love to see that one guy live.
I seen this guy 10+ years ago at a little place called the WOW Hall in Eugene Oregon, hands down one of the best shows I've ever seen. I highly recommend seeing him.
Between Floater and T1G, the WOW is one of my favorite venues.
I’m actually gonna see him tonight at the WOW hall! I’m super stoked.
Oct 20!!!
@@ratking646k7 I'm actually going to see him at the WOW hall tomorrow and I'm super stoked!
I saw him at some small venue in Portland (can't remember which) and he was by far the best opening act I've ever seen. It was fun listening to everyone guess what that big metal thing was before the show started too.
I saw him with Buckethead. Awesomeness.
+JK1 I did too! Lincoln Theater, in Raleigh, NC. Many years ago. Phenomenal.
+Dennis Hilting
aladin theater in portland epoc as fuck
2008 Madison, WI at the Barrymore Theater. They were both awesome!
i saw them together at Wakarusa
Saw the same show in Tampa like ten years ago. The venue was so hot bucket head almost fainted. He had to rest behind the stage decorations for a few minutes. Katy perry had just come out with kissed a girl and was playing next door.
1:54 Gave me Chills
i saw him with buckethead a couple years ago and no one knew what to expect. needless to say, we were all blown away. and after buckethead's set he played another hour and half WITH buckethead. what an amazing show
Seen him 8 years ago and about to see Mike again in 14 days! Let's go!!!!! Most unique show I've ever seen.
Why hasn't this song topped the Billboard charts
Classically trained session musician who played classical, jazz, blues, rock, you name it. Got bored with it all, got his tube machine going, and the rest is history. That 1 Guy, indeed.
this is always amazing to see it done live, that end kills me every time!
he never stops touring seen him ten years in a row, never gets old live
Dang, this is some slamming astro funk. I really want to know about that instrument and how he's processing it all. But DAMN!
Tamara Temple he one inventedit as well as many other instruments
I met this dude a while back when he opened for Buckethead. Definitely one of the most innovative live shows I have ever seen. The thing this dude does with that pipe and cowboy boot. Not only is he talented, he's also incredibly chill, and down to earth, and a genuinely nice chap. :)
On the way home from the grocery store i thought about how incredibly amazing it would be if reggie watts did some sort of collaboration with That 1 Guy.
This guy is incredible. Going to see him Oct 20 and couldn't be more excited!
I saw him live in emporia, it as crazy cool! And hes so funny lol
@@ramseymaurer42 it was incredible. Back for my fix today haha
HOW the HELL have I gone for 15 YEARS without SEEING THIS!?!?!?
wow most original shit i've heard in a long time, loove it.
I'm left totally, utterly fucking speechless. I just discovered and already adore that guy.
I love this so much. So bizarre, creative and original. It’s perfect. Thank you TOG!
I was very happy to find this video on UA-cam I worked a concert of his in Portland Oregon I think 2008 and I was just describing this guy to my daughter and I decided to look him up and I found this video and it made me very happy thank you for posting
Love this one guy
Superb
Saw him supporting Eels in Dublin - truly wonderful
Wowed the crowd and enamoured me for sure
Did a very funny skit with the band too
Saw this guy live in Eugene played before Buckethead . Best show ever period.
I saw them both at the Majestic theater in Detroit and it was in my top 3 for sure!
Wow! That One Guy is aewsome. One of the most original performances I've ever seen. Can't wait to see him live!
I met him in the alley behind The Majestic in Detroit going to see Buckethead. We asked if he needed help unloading, but he said "no thanks, I got it.". Then he asked, "Are you going in?" and told us, "get ready for a crazy show!" ...and it *was!!!* 🤘😎🤘
That is just Amazing!
Im in awe of anyone who can invent a new instrument.
Talented dude. Somehow this guy reminds me of Frank Zappa.
I was a bouncer at a place where That One Guy played - I can't get over his talent
Holy fucking shit, that was the most innovative music I've seen in about a decade. WOW.
i have no idea what i'm watching, but i'm enjoying it thoroughly.
The True artist, not the overwhelming musical mimicry of today's supermarket back-round music. Originality, thank heaven it still exists. This genius expresses from nowhere else but the temple of the mind. He's zoned into the royal road and brings us along with him. Totally cool, my mind is still flashing and I've only had coffee.
I've seen him quite a few times, and it never ceases to be amazing!!!
2:57 these lyrics build so much energy - awesome
I'm pretty sure this guy is one of the most intelligent people on the planet.
It's easier to fool someone than to convince them they have been fooled - Mark Twain
check out Sammy Hager - Aliens on youtube lol
What an entertainer. Just saw him support Eels tonight in Glasgow. What a treat, loved every minute
Simply an AWESOME HUMAN BEING....FRIEND HIM, FOLLOW HIM, TWEET HIM, GET TO KNOW HIM.....YOU Will NOT REGRET IT !!!

WOOO! Live at the Warehouse in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Can't wait to see you 1 Guy!
His first name is Mike.....I got to meet him and hang out backstage in Salina, Ks a couple of years ago when he opened for Kansas. Awsome guy....awsome perferformer. He has worked quite a bit with Buckethead and other big names.
This guy is a fuckin maniac and I am HERE FOR IT
Awesome! The world will be a better place some day if people like this 1 guy keep
pushing the boundaries of art and music, re-inventing conventional styles and instruments, and exploring new territories..........ROCK ON!!!
I love you....hope you come back to Chicago
this is so awesome I can't believe I haven't heard of this gent before!
... He has two hats stacked on top of each other. It took me months of enjoyment to realize that; attention to detail is ALWAYS satisfactory (y)
I just watched the live version of Buttmachine at this show and was amazed but after watching this clip now I just love it.
He is oh so entertaining
He goes SO HARD on that thing. Good lord.
I love what this guy does. Brilliant.
Thank you friends!!
Amazing
❤
Has anyone here ever heard the fabulous hedgehogs? I used to see them live in the 90’s. Great band. Just found out this guy was in that band. If you never heard of them go check em out

Should be a great show
Your truly Amazing that Guy, and the character to go with it as well. When i first saw him on stage i though he came out with a giant vacuum cleaner, like parts from it.
That Jazz was the icing on the cake.
Fricken amazing I saw him at blue-skies this summer....wow!
Killed it at midsummer madness 2014!!! What a time!
I would buy an album of him just doing jazz on that thing.

Love this guy!! A friend at work saw a segment on PBS and clued me in. Now I am a fan. I want to see the guy live, may take a road trip.
Dear Mr. Sherlock Holmes,
It's called Triggering SAMPLES and effects. And he has about 10 of trigger buttons on The Pipe So naturally, he isn't playing everything because he is already playing An amazing LOT with two hands and two feet.
As for 5.23, apart from the fade-out sound of the fuzzed C string, I guess you are referring to the percussion/bass drum sound, which he obviously plays with his right foot.
shit dude. thats gotta take forever man! hes got so much freakin stuff.
What a bad ass....
Pretty f'ing fantastical
Will be seeing this guy at the upcoming Smoky Hill River Festival in Salina, KS this weekend!
Can't wait to see him at EF! When he breaks it down at the end...so great!
Just saw him Live playing down in Cali on the Creative section last night....shit was Lit AF and he even did a cover to Rush's "Tom Sawyer"...was so sick.
holy crap i've always wondered what the best way to drum and play guitar/bass at the same time is
that custom instrument a work of pure genius; you're able to tap out a hihat beat while "strumming" at the same time
best thing i have seen in ages.
blissfest
fabulous
Freakin love the jazz at the end.
THIS IS INSANE!!!!!! Off the charts amazing
Saw this guy live last night. He is phenomenal

i was talking and hanging with him after his show at woodford one year and asked him if he had a thing against cheese and he goes 'aw nah man i LOVE cheese. you know? the mouldier the better, i love blue cheese and really soft stuff like camenbere' in his san frisco accent
