Some of his stream of consciousness freak out reminds me of early Pink Floyd at the UFO. Some of his vocal stylings reminds me of Iggy Pop. Some of his hypno-drone synth groove reminds me of Ozric Tentacles. But this fellow arranges the disparate musical elements into his own unique confection. A true original.
Much love to this crazy, silly, talented, genius, weirdo. The depth of his studio production is soul felt. This man has so many gifts and so underrated.. Keep it up brother!
I saw him live and afterword he was selling his CDs. One younger guy only had $5 and That1Guy said don't worry about it. He's an amazing musician and a nice guy too.
My introduction to Mike was as an opener for Buckethead in Houston ca. 2006 i think? Met him briefly on the way in because the venue was a two floor building with stairs but no public elevator, but being ADA compliant had a service elevator that they used for people with wheelchairs and the like, and my dad, being paralyzed from the neck down, made use of it. He was loading gear in and we passed on his way to get more. I gave him a polite "oh hello" and he smiled and nodded then sort of half waited for me to recognize him but not in a conceited way, but i had no idea who he was and was already on my way, cut to him walking out on stage and me realizing what had happened. Good times lol.
This one guy is a good thing to have seen in Winston-Salem and good to take a mindful trott of the time and music that will never die. I am going to like it. Thanks that one guy hope to hear more creative diggs
About 4 minutes in and I'm mesmerized. Beautifully haunting melodies transitioning into an intense intro to 70s 80s alt-rock all played on some type of musical contraption that totally kicks ass! I'm certainly a subscriber now...wish I had heard of you and this sooner. Oh well better late than not at all...Definitely sharing this video!
This is basically unwatchable because ads show up randomly every few minutes right in the middle of his songs- there’s no cohesion because of it. Musician is awesome af tho and I very much would like to know more about his whamalo instrument. Been thinking about building one myself.
I want you to live a long and healthy life! I had to say that first. I would like to watch a show from the future where someone tries to understand / play your rig. I would like to hear about their ideas as to how and what is or was played with your instrument. If I was an independently wealthy dude, I'd try to hire you to play dive bars all along the eastern USA seaboard to interact with seasoned "fishermen". It would probably be a rough crowd for sure. But I bet people you would "connect" with, would be people you could have in your life for the rest of your life if you were willing to nurture the relationship. Your music has brought me happiness when I have been very sad. Thank you for what you do.
Humanity might not know it right now, but this is a legend of a musician. If I had the money, I'd pay to have him inducted into the RnR Hall of Fame so his name carries on.
Saw That1Guy play in Fort Collins about 10 years ago. only wore 1 hat back then. The audience was really shitty and rude and truly missed out on an amazing musician.

What an absolute beast. I’ve been watching his sets for the last 7 hrs. I’m trash for being a OG Claypool kid and not catching this man sooner.
There's something so old world and yet so spacey and futuristic about that magic pipe. I can't get enough.
Not everyone in the music business deserves to be called an artist. That 1 Guy, on the other hand, most certainly does. Bravo 👏

How often does someone create their own musical instrument? Not very often. Awesome!

Van Gogh was also not famous until he died.
Son of a gun it's a sad world if this dude isn't top selling artist ever before he dies. Also That1Guy is immortal anyways. AWOOOOooooooo!
Earless and trying to tempt the devil with absinth
Micheal Silverman ladies and gentlemen! AKA that1guy. If ever their were a person the word savant was used to describe, it is this man.
